  3. Sounds very like you have a n/s seized turbo, so that is not producing boost of course, and the other one is but the boost gets lost down the seized turbo into the exhaust, this is why you have no boost. The timing is a lesser problem at this time, the turbo needs changing, a low cost option for the short term is to get a good used one and swap it over, the n/s one is quite easy with out removing the engine, do an oil and filter change at the same time and check the oil feed pipe is clear. Once the boost issue is resolved then the timing and set up issues can be worked through, one point worth reminding everyone, having diagnostic equipment is only as good as your understanding of what it is telling you, and even more important is what is it not and that is what experience gives you. Jeff
  4. Mmm.... the only safe mode is safety boost, this when the knock sensor circuit detects pinking or the sensor fails, this retards the ignition and reduces stock boost to around 5.5 psi. If you have code 55 then you not in safety boost mode. Also if you have no boost at all you either have a massive leak but that would make it run badly or and more likely a seized turbo.
  5. Everything you describe is a bad solder joint on the eprom carrier, or a bad leg on the eprom. Jeff
  6. Ecu's are easy enough to get hold off, if that is the case. Jefg
  7. Just so you understand the circuit, the relay coil and supply to the pump via the relay contacts comes from that green fuse as we discussed before, this is a battery feed. The relay is switched via the earth to the coil direct from the engine ecu, if you are not careful you can damage the output from the ecu, if your finding the relay will not pull in now that might be the very issue that may of been caused accidentally. If you just pull the relay and link the contacts then the fuel pump should run if there is power across those contacts. If not just run a new fused supply, often quicker than hunting a fault down.
  8. OMG , this is what I am on about ??? How to make Turbo Flutter Noise on Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo
  9. Well you have done a good job of tracking down the issue to almost the last parts of the circuit and also proven most parts after that point. So the relay is not getting a feed to pull in, the feed for the pump and the relay coil come from the same place, the green fuel pump thermal fuse under the bonnet in the slim black box by the brake master cylinder, it is marked up on the lid. If the thermal fuse is good and power on is coming out ok then there is a break in between, but do check the fuse and swap it with an adjacent one for the seats to be sure. Jeff
  10. Are your bushes worn or leaking? Jeff
  11. Maybe it is more the attitude I am speaking of when folk talk of flame spitting exhaust etc. seems to devalue the very essence of what the 300zx was, fingers crossed the Corsa guys do not start buying into the Z scene or we are all doomed !! lol Jeff
  12. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha !!!!!! this is one STUPID idea but bang on trend now in the modding circles !!
  13. - - - Updated - - - Yes and yes, zeds need respect not plastic stick on bits !! Nice one Joe. Jeff

  15. Ha ha if you knew me Joe, then you would know I am about as chilled as you can get, spent my whole live around cars and as far as been a moany git, well yeh maybe but then I have done life`s apprenticeship and with that comes historic wisdom ( hopefully ) chilling between the pool, beach and kicking the locals asses in my M6 is more cool than most ! lol Jeff
  16. Could not agree more, the noise is without doubt not cool !! Jeff
  17. .....for this reason I cringe when small meets here are arranged at McDonalds... there must be better places. Jeff
  18. Yes amazing how the Cosworth well ford`s in general have swung right around and making some serious money. Jeff
  19. Looking for a complete running engine, thanks anyhow. Jeff - - - Updated - - - Interesting, do you know the mileage etc. and a price, pm me if you want. Jeff
  20. What on earth is happening in the car scene of late, ricers everywhere youtube , facebook you name it, all showing their latest drift skill and stick on bits from Halfords !! But there is a worrying development and that is z32 seem fail play now, no more messing with Honda Civics and Scoobies lets get a zed and crucify it with stick on gash products and lairy paint work whilst doing nothing decent like cambelt or oil change. There is as serious conversation right now on facebook about how to get the longest flames out of their 300zx exhaust, drilling the back box and fitting a spark plug wired to fire up the overun /unburnt fuel ?? WTH hell is wrong with these people ?? This kind if stuff is all due to the Fast and Furious mentality and has no place in true tuning or customising, I saw the exact same thing happen with Sierra Cosworth, once the heralded Fast Ford that managers and executives alike were happy to be seen in, as prices dropped in late nineties they got all chavved up, got rid of mine just in time thank goodness, loved it but seeing a 17 year old skidding around mcdonalds was enough for me to get out. So is the 300zx going the same way, afraid I am seeing evidence that it maybe, only the low numbers around will stop it getting to out of hand I hope, but either way, please, please, please do not spit fire out of your exhaust, do not fit lash body kits or repaint in lairy colours, or the z32 will be joining the Honda and Toyota league........gulp! Jeff
  21. Anyone with the following parts please let me know. Non turbo engine ( good running order ) Left hand wing in AH3 a bonus Air flow meter Hazard switch Thanks Jeff
  22. Short memories guys, I covered this in 2011 lol ! https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?146637-Optional-knee-heater-vent&highlight=Vent Saw a fair few imports with these fitted over the years and almost always on softops, had several on the shelf at one time and could not sell them?? Jeff
  23. Hi Phil, long time no speak !! Car still looking fab buddy, just to answer your question and echo others above, the Cat D status on any car of a certain age, especially when the repair was done such a long time ago is by the by, yes not everyone understands what it means but simply put a scratched or dented bonnet with no other damage on the car can be Cat D, a stolen with keys and recovered with zero damage can be Cat D. Get looking at general prices on ebay, piston heads, Gumtree not the £10k+ hopers but the £3K to £7k ones and see how they compare to your own in mileage, condition and spec, you maybe pleased to see yours is top end + or reality around the middle, your call on how soon you want to move it on, high priced zeds, well any cars of a certain age that presently jumping on the " is a modern classic " just hang around unsold till the price comes down to a sensible level. Have the best of luck selling bud and enjoy what you can with her until it moves on to a new owner. Jeff
  24. There is a mix up with the listing of the Z31 and Z32 converter there, as said above the larger one just needs tapping i. Jeff
