  1. Two Beautiful Cars Guys. I'm really starting to like that colour. Such a shame that one of the previous owners oversprayed mine the way he did.
  2. Yeah Legrath, you are probably right. See what he did with his rear wheels. They are huge custom made widths. Takes the same width of rear tyre as is on the rear of my x5.
  3. I wasn't imaging it so, if you guessed the same one Jazzysingh.
  4. Some beautiful shots of a recently resprayed swb zed in the OEM original Pearlglow yellow. I think it looks fantastic, well in these shots anyways. The photographer says that he believes that it was a premium option available only in 1990. Now I know I'm dreaming again, but when I consider that mine was originally this colour and it is a 1990 model, would it possibly be a better option to go back to the original colour rather than a black respray, leave the original bumper, forget about a 99 spec rear spoiler and forget about the 99 spec rearlight cluster. With the exception of the wheels, there is very little that doesn't look well in these images. Anybody agree?
  5. There is one beautiful Zed being built in the US. Its a wide arch and on his concept on page 1, I just wonder has he taken inspiration from any members car on here? One in particular springs into my mind, even though there may be a difference in lenght http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3056793
  6. Just resubscribed. Well worth the money. Just got some work for a few weeks, so allowed the £15 stg to be spent. Finances are as tight as the proverbial camels arse in a sandstorm, which forces the sale of a vehicle. So the 4.6is X5 is going to go. Couldn't contemplate selling the zed, even though I haven't got much use out of it so far.
  7. In the Supercars magazine from 1991, it says that the US spec cars have stiffer damping and quicker steering than the European spec'd versions. Anybody know if this is true and how do they compare to the J-specs?
  8. I had to reread the comments twice. Boy, do I feel like a right tit now. Yes the incorporation is exactly like Mike and you said Isaac. And it should be simple also. Dave - I don't have the cash to rewire a light bulb right now, not alone replace a rear bumper :)
  9. Thanks guys for the answers. Its a shame that it is not incorporated somehow into the rear clusters.
  10. Its something that I have been wondering about for quite a while, so finally I'll ask the question. I assume that the fog lights on a UK Zed are incorporated into the rear light clusters of the Zed. On the Jap spec, they are not which results in the add on rear fog lamp under the rear bumper and it looks crap. If my assumption regarding the UK rear fog lamp is correct, would it not be simple to transplant the light clusters and rewire? The above is probably totally wrong from assumption through to suggestion, but please enlighten me. Its something that I always wondered. I hope I have this in the right section (I believed it to be a discussion question rather than looking for help and advise)
  11. Great post  I really hate those *******s!
  12. 46 :) This will go on for ages
  13. I bought my manual slicktop last year for £2500 and spent probably another £2000 on repairs (new custom exhaust, tyres, suspension parts etc). Of course registering it here in Ireland attracted another €1600 ish in bloody penal VRT (Vehicle Registration Tax)
  14. Thats my favourite too Dave. Just hadn't seen this one before and loved the message given to Porsche back then, Nissan are just going to overtake you. Definitely, but then I'm biased.
  15. I like this commercial which was used in the US. In particular I like where it flashes the Porsche to pull over and let it by on the Autobahn :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHvm-dMUaFo&NR=1
  16. I wouldnt touch the Merc. I had an E220CDi. It was a 2003. Worst car and most problematic family car ever. Injectors in the engine kept giving up and had to replace cats. Cost an absolute fortune over my term of ownership which was just shy of a year and a half. They may have improved after 2003 - I don't know, but I wouldn't spend my money finding out. If it was a choice between both, I'd go for the chrysler.
  17. Ah ok Gary. Now I understand. The red rear fog light does look bad when hanging down under the rear bumper. I can see why you removed it.
  18. Nice Gary, very, very nice. Tell me Gary - does the 99 spec rear end get around the problem with the rear fog light requirements on the imports?
  19. I was wrong, I was wrong, I was wrong. At 4.32 - 4.40 on the link, you can see the real velour seats and a jacket on the seat. I guess it was the preinstalled bar which put me off when I watched it live.
  20. That was my exact thought after they got to the alp's and were putting in the roll cage. And I thought what a let down if it was true - the guys know the challenges before they ever set off... My bb is slow so I'm letting the link buffer so that I can have another look. I do think that the rear seats were removed from the start though. But then again, I may be mistaken
  21. Cheers Legrath - I'll have another look
  22. I thought the zed looked timeless with fantastic road presence. I don't have iplayer (outside of UK) but can somebody tell me, if I was imagining that this was a 2 seater LWB. I couldn't really see the 2 rear seats during the in-car clips with Hammond.
  23. When I got my zed it had a very similar rear spoiler. First thing I did was get rid of it. I hate the harsh Ironing Board look, stuck up in the air... but this is your car and if you like it thats what counts
