  1. If I had the cash I'd be buying these off a member on here. They are practically new and I think they are absolutely stunning. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=126317
  2. I think you are right there. They probably think, that because it hasn't the targa top and only has two seats that it is actually worth less. Plus the fact that they don't mention the TT aspect of it, suggests that they really don;t know anything about these cars. Somebody it going to get a bargain I think.
  3. Yeah - assuming there is nothing majorly wrong, it has to be a bargain at that price

And its a nice looking white one too!!!!

Appreciate the invite Gary, but cant make it. Jammed my back on Thursday and sort of wrecked since. Enjoy it though in the fine sunshine (which we are finally getting). I'm sure we will meet up though at the end of the month in Monaghan. I hope we get a good day.
  6. Well my opinion for what it is worth is : The fact that a car HAD a lot of problems that were all sorted would not concern me. Anybody buying one knows that these babies are old high performance vehicles that require looking after and having money spent on them. I had an isuzu once that broke my heart but I repaired everything. Told the buyer everything about it and he never had one problem with it in his 3 subsequent years of ownership Its a nice widebody which will appeal to some and anybody wanting it done to a new purchase must expect to pay a couple of £k's to get it done. But that said, its not really a mod that increases the value of a zed. It's like all the extras on a car that you trade second hand. They don't necessarily increase the value of the car, but do help it to shift quicker to the right buyer. I'd get an engine rebuild done and then either fall in love with it again or flog it. I did an engine transplant into a BMW and since the day I did it, I regretted not spending an extra couple of hundred euro's and having my block rebuilt I'd respect peoples opinions on their value estimates. Its a buyers market currently and to be fair not many punters would pay £2500 - £3000 for a zed with a problem engine irrelevant of how it was maintained. There are no undertones or ulterior motives in this point from me by the way. Anyhow that is just my opinion and if it helps great. If it doesn't, just ignore.
  7. That has to be a wind up. Very funny :rofl::rofl: and even funnier if it is not a wind up :rofl::rofl::rofl:
  8. Really ? I think Messi is a level above Ronaldo. Not that I have seen him play very many times, but any time that I have, he has never played poorly. Can't say the same for Ronaldo
  9. was that on tv :rofl: I thought that would have been more of a viral ad campaign
  10. Barcelona were simply brilliant and deserved their win. Not a fan of United, but I was hoping that they would have won it. Messi must be one of the best players in the world. He is so strong on the ball.
  11. thanks guys for the advise
  12. Thanks for the feedback guys. I agree with the comments about the suspension and chassis being equally as important as all out horsepower. My car is stock at the moment. I believed it had been tuned by the previous owner (Legrath might be able to confirm), but the original settings were reinstalled as it had been giving me running issues, backfiring etc... Originally above a certain rev range it was really very quick, but now the power curve is much smoother, but still quick.
  13. I cleaned the connection to the temp sensor, which had some green build up on it and gave it a spray of WD40 rather than buying a new sensor to see if it would make any difference and it did. After driving it for a while the idle revs drops down to approx 800rpm which is fine. Takes a little time to get there, but nonetheless is a huge improvement on where it was. TBH I'm not sure if the connection is 100%. To my untrained eye, when I look into the connection on the harness it appears slightly broken, as if one side of the connection pieces that grip to the sensor is gone. Also the clip that holds the connection in place is missing, which suggests that some garage did a bit of ripping to get at it or did it when doing the timing belt.
  14. I bought my Series 2 PTU from Mike Feeney who trades on here as MJP Auto and from memory, I believe it was around £120. So not too expensive.

Hey Richard, how did the respray go? I think you were hoping to have it done last weekend? Colm
  18. well done John - cant wait for the video :hyper:
  19. Your car looks absolutely fantastic. Enjoy it and the bank holiday weekend over there.
  20. Thanks guys for all the replies. My aim most definitely will be to have a car that could be used as an everyday driver, if I wished and yet have the ability to go like a bat out of hell, if I wanted. From your replies, it looks like maybe 450bhp-500bhp at the flywheel would be the upper limit range. Higher than that would be a waste of time for my purpose and possibly from what you are saying reduce the enjoyment of everyday driving. My car is the tt and completely stock at the moment. That said it is not slow.
  21. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1050851.htm I wonder is his BHP measured at the flywheel or rear wheels (or was it just in his dreams) :)
  22. I like them. They look well. Are they the ones that are on the Zed in the picture on Ebay? If they are, then they suit the car.
  23. And the BHP's that are being quoted above, are they BHP figures at the rear wheel or the flywheel?
  24. I am interested to know at what power range does a motor leave what one would call a streetible car. Also what would the main aspect of driving experience be to qualify a car as streetible? Is it the clutching? I'd love to someday have an engine rebuild, tubs upgraded etc to produce a serious amount of BHP, but I wouldn't want to create a monster than couldn't be controlled. MAC1 I believe has created a serious beast, and I'd love to know how his car drives and how controllable it is. So MAC1, if you see this thread, I'm interested to know of your experience with high BHP cars. Thanks in advance
  25. I never have a problem sleeping. That is one thing for sure. My mother always said that I would sleep on a harrow. :) I was doing a little work on a pre-planning submission for tomorrow morning. It's for a shed I want to put up behind the house, with some commercial implications. Then onto youtube and time just flies.
