A moment to savour and never forget
I just had one of those moments..... .... drove an absolutely immaculate red ferrari 599GTB down the motorway from Citywest (outside Dublin) to Naas and back. My God what a thrill. One of only two in the country from an apparently very limited production run. Power - savage but controllable (obviously with traction control turned on) Gear change - instant paddleshift (fastest ever on a production car apparently taken from the ferrari 2004 F1 car) Braking - immediate Styling inside - absolutely gorgeous Styling outside - absolutely gorgeous Drive - fantastically smooth Did I give it the beans - absolutely! No wheel spin with the traction on. I really couldn't put a sentence together when I was driving it. Only single words at a push - WOW, AMAZING, INCREDIBLE. Just thought I'd share, with people of a similar disposition.

Small/Major?? prob, PLEASE HELP!!
Mike at MJP (Trader on here) will be able to give you a price as I got mine from him, thinking my problem was PTU related, when it was actually the MAF. Lumpy idle and no power above 2.5 - 3k and cutting out still suggests to me that it is the MAF. As Murt said it usually won't drive above 3k, but in my instance it went through the rev range with slow acceleration. Next time when it cuts out and won't start, disconnect the MAF and try to start it. If it starts, then a 2nd hand MAF is your next purchase. Too expensive to buy new.

Small/Major?? prob, PLEASE HELP!!
Hey man, don't panic. Its probably something simply and the symptoms sound very similar to what I experienced when my MAF gave me issues. I could be driving along and the car would just die on me. Then it wouldn't start for ages. A simple way to establish whether or not it is the MAF, is the next time it cuts out and won't start, remove the slam panel at the front of the car and disconnect the MAF. If it starts straight away then you have established that the problem lies with the MAF. They are not that expensive 2nd hand.

Joint 300zx meet 20th June
Hi Murt - ignore my pm. Just checked it and the pub is only around 10km from the airport, so I thought to hell with it and went ahead and booked the flights. €32.99 for day return flights from Dublin to Bristol is cheap as chips. Looking forward to the 20th.

My parts for sale.
I feel for you Jaffa. Only my two pence worth - it would be easier for the buyer to perceive value if they knew what brand name parts they were actually buying, like with the pulleys for example. It is always easier for somebody to compare if they knew what they are actually buying. I agree with you on quality. The dear product often works out the cheapest and the the cheapest the most expensive.

Remember this rear bumper ?
I finally traced who made this bumper and kit and managed to make contact with him. He is a 3d designer who designed this kit for himself and can also design and produce lightweight wheels etc.. The site below should come with a Wealth Warning though, kit is pricey... http://www.spdv6.com

Calling all Accountants
Well I'm a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and qualified as such 15 years ago. To refute the allegation of the slug charisma, accountants sometimes get profiled as the most boring people ever to walk the planet. When I studied at third level, there were only 17 lads in the class. Of the 17, two of us played inter-county gaelic football (most popular sport in Ireland), one played rugby for Irelands colleges u-20's, two more played senior rugby, one was connaught champion kickboxer, one played for Sligo Rovers FC (Premier league soccer over here- equivalent of probably low first divison, high second division standard) and another a squash champion. Plus we did party and party hard. So not every accountant is boring. My qualification allowed me to work and experience life and different cultures in Cairo and Alexandria in Eqypt, Fuengirola in Spain and Versailles in France. The qualification is internationally recognised. It takes a lot of work and study to get it, but once you have it, it is not a heavy burden to carry around. The fundamentals of an accounting qualification will stand you in good stead in your business life. From a personal perspective it has given me a lot, but that said, had I my choice all over again, I would have preferred to have done law. That is just down to a personal preference. I know nothing of the your results grades as they are totally different to over here, but with regards the course, it looks like a foundation course that "may" get you credits against follow on exam's with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (worth checking out further). Alternatively I'm sure it will get you through the early examines of the Accounting Technician qualification. Money wise, if you are good and progress, you will get paid. Starting off though usually means working for poor pay initially. Hope that helps.

anyone know about dog breeding
Firstly look up experts who judge the breed. Have them examine and judge him. Most important aspect is that he is genetically correct and sound. No use in considering breeding him if he isn't 100%. I have one full male Rottweiler and most people who see him comment about how beautiful he is, and I have to say that he has a beautiful head, chest, shoulder coupled with a wonderful temperament. One local lad wanted him to cover his bitch, but I refused. He is just not fully correct behind and there is no use in passing those genes on. In my opinion responsible breeding is key. When I was growing up, we had gun dogs and it never effected the males, if they got at the occassional bitch.

Slicktop windscreen & rooftop trim - calling Legrath
No Taff I don't, but Mike Feeney (MJP) would know. He'll be able to give you the details as he ordered them before for somebody and seems to have had an awful time, getting them delivered to his place in one piece.

Slicktop windscreen & rooftop trim - calling Legrath
Well then, I guess based on both answers, I'd be better going for the stock option and getting the piece of trim ordered.

Slicktop windscreen & rooftop trim - calling Legrath
Thanks gentlemen. I like the roof, nothing wrong with the way that looks. Any pics of how the windscreen looks though?

Slicktop windscreen & rooftop trim - calling Legrath
The windscreen and rooftop trim on the drivers side of my slicktop is missing. From what Mike Feeney has told me they are a real pain in the ar$e to get delivered undamaged. Does anybody know if there are other options to using the OEM trim? Did I read in a post a long time ago that Legrath did something different with his? I'm interested to find out what other options there are, if any, and pics would be great. (Didn't know whether to put the query in this section or help and advise. If its wrong mod's - don't hesitate in changing it)

Fast & The Furious Storyline inspiration
Well guys I have just been reading an article tonight about the street racer who was the inspiration for the story which became The Fast and the Furious. Well have a guess what car he used to race . . . . . . . . . ? Yep boys and girls, a starion initially and then a 1990 300zx twin turbo !!!!!! When racing, he used to give other cars advantages (car lenghts) and still beat them over a mile. Article for anybody that is interested : http://www.turbomagazine.com/editors/turp_0602_1990_nissan_300zx_twin_turbo/index.html

It's not the first time, the owner of the most desirable model of Zed went absolutely ballistic with paint.. But everyone to their own..

Love this pic of a silver Zed
Yep - its Chicago Boomin. Was there for a couple of weeks myself once, many moons ago. In fact I was on a boat on Lake Michigan enjoying the beautiful view of looking in on the city one evening. It is a good city and when I was over the weather was beautiful. Gary - the wheels remind me of a bright silver version of the ones Jaffa has for sale. I like Vodkashots thought that the foreground was photoshopped a little, but could be wrong.

Paint?
If your mate works in a body shop, then he would have all the colour swatch cards with every possible shade of every colour. Then just get your paint ordered through him from ICI or some of the other main automotive paint companies.

Afternoon. Anyone fancy coming to a gig?
Great to see its going well Leigh. Hopefully its a hockey stick trajectory that you are facing now once this concert kicks off  No more than yourself, I lost touch on the website for quite a while. IIRC I put my name down for your cd when you spoke about an early release, but with time passing and me losing touch it has obviously been long since released. Since I said originally that I would take one, pm me your payment details, and I'll take a limited edition copy. Payment will be within two weeks though. I'll borrow the line from the old Carlsberg ad in that your V8 Zed will "be worth waiting for" ( if John Dixon's you tube clips are anything to go by. )
