Interesting Zed Concept
Isn't the Speedo kit the "Stack" system? I wouldn't have the 2 litre "4" either - I guess the "6" from a Skylind would'nt fit....? Richard :smw:

Further to matthews Wax & Polish Thread
Actually this is a good one to use...... .....Cherry Blossom football boot polish works wonders on the black strips round the windows and targas. Plus it's waterproof and lasts for months - only £1-2 from a supermarket to boot! (no pun intended ;) ) Richard :D

GB stickers
If you have the GB EEC logo on your number plates you don't need a GB sticker. Otherwise do as the Sarge says! ;) Richard :D

Orange Indicators Bulbs
This is true - Harry's parts range is pretty basic. Any decent motor factor will sell orange bulbs with "straight" pins. Try http://www.cafco.co.uk Richard :D

leather treatment
This is goooood stuff - I used it on my old (1974) Jag and it worked a treat. I hear Woolies renovation kit is pretty good too - someone has done the write-up on here IIRC. Richard :D

Safety boost on turbo?
If it won't go past +7 in the boost guage then you are deffo in safety boost mate. As for not going past 120......... :x: that could be the restrictor as you should (eventually - a fully fit TT will hit 150 before you know it....alegedly ;) ) get to 145 even in safety boost. Do a diagnostic check - sorry, don't know the link, and see what error code you get. Safety boost usually points to det sensor. Richard :smw:

Help required from a fellow Zedder(s) in and around Slough/Berks please.
Hi mate, If it's "Leigh" (rather than Lee) then he is a trader on here and a damn nice bloke. Met him at the Royal Oak ZX meets on more than one occasion, so I can vouch for him. I'm only 6 or so miles from Sluff so if you need someone to come with you Saturday let me know. Richard :smw:

My ZED has let me down. ANY one interested make me a sensible offers
Do you not have to repair or replace the turbos as a pair on the Z32? Richard

Hi
The brakes probably get worse with age - as they would any on many a heavy fast car. The calipers are prone to seizing. A simple upgrade would be re-con the calipers and fit Brembo discs, metalic pads and s/steel braided hoses. If you have deep pockets, the Skyline upgrade is the daddy! As for the lights, an HID conversion is definately worth the money - mine cost £200 in the group buy from Outlander in the traders section  Richard :smw:

Which is the best value Sat nav system??
I bought 8 Medion basic jobbies (£279 from Halfords) for the service engineers at work and they seem happy with them. No more struggling to read maps or getting lost (and no more excuses for them being late to customers!!) The Medions may not be as trick as the TomTom or Garmin etc but they do a good job and you can't complain at the price. I may actually get myself one, it might stop map-reading related arguements between Julia & I.... ;) Alternatively, if you have a PDA phone go to http://www.totalpda.com and buy a TomTom chip for it. They are around £150 IIRC. I've just bought one for our installations manager - only arrived Friday so nothing to report yet. Richard :D

Zedders occupations
It's quite handy so many Zedders being in IT. If I have a PC problem there's always someone here who can advise - another reason to love the forum. You notice when members sell their Zs they still come back and post here - I bet the Supra or Scooby forums don't have that draw. Richard :D PS I'm not in forces or IT......... ;)

is this what the wipers should do? & high H/brake
That always pissed me off too - I also thought I had a fekked relay! It only bothers me now if I just want a single wipe - it is just not possible :slap: Richard :smw:

advice plz
They certainly do generate a lot of heat - that's normal. After a long run, when I park in the garage it feels like a furnace in there ;) Love that purple Bandit  Richard :D

pic of my Z
Looks good mate  I don't know what bumper that is, but someone on here had a silver one with a similar bumper a while back. I do know those indicators/fogs come from a Porsche 928s4 though. Richard

A little leak!
If you're always topping up the brake fluid then I guess it's your master cylinder. They are a known problem on the Z32 - later cars had a different type IIRC which stopped them going bad. If you need a new part, get in touch with Mike Feeney - MJP in traders section. HTH Richard

buying a zed in birmingham
Sound advice there B19rks!! I remember "Allied Cars" I looked at a Z there over 2 years ago and although advertised as good, turned out to be the biggest pile of shite I looked at. The dealers were shady to say the least. They wouldn't take "NO" for an answer and one guy stood in the door blocking my exit. I'm not exactly a big guy but I had to force him out of my way - I got in my car and out of there pretty sharpish!!! Richard

What part of the UK are you from?
Home counties - Buckinghamshire to be exact

Summons! :(
AA and RAC have a legal advice departments. AA's charges £1 per minute IIRC but RAC's is a local call rate. They will supply a brief FOC if you are a member (or at least they used to?). Richard

Police shooting
Saved us the cost of a trial for that scum. It's no great loss - the fekker was a suicide bomber anyway so he had already planned to die. I'm just glad the police got him before he killed more innocent people. Richard

i feckin hate transit van driver with a passion
"Most" drivers of new Transits are not as bad as their reputation now. It's the battered old "Pikey" Transits that piss me off. Those w@nkers ALWAYS pull out in front of me then chug along at 20 below the speed limit, belching out toxic oil fumes then stay in the middle of the road so I can't overtake them :xxx: It's not worth risking an accident for them as the state of their vans suggest no MOT so you can bet they're not insured either  Richard

never gonna use another cleaning product again!
MER is pretty easy to use but I haven't used it since I had my black Supra - it was fekking lousy on that as it left smears everywhere on the black paintwork. It did Julia's electric-blue Corsa OK though but I use Autoglym and Turtle Wax red wax on the ZX. Autoglym does a fine job on my black Rav-4 too. Richard

Mickey - Eastenders!
Heh heh  Got a point there mate!! honestly, Yampi - to spot something in that much detail you must be a real avid watcher :hurl: Richard :smash:
-
Why I will never spend another penny on bodywork...
And you never get to catch the fekkers so you can cut their hands off  Sorry to see that mate :( Just get some Turtle Wax colour polish with the free "lipstick" thingy and camouflage it as best you can. It won't get rid of the scratch but you'll disguise it well until you decide to get it sprayed again. Richard

Fuel Advise Please
Regular U/L is fine in a stock UK car as they are set up for 95RON fuel. Optimax does no harm though and you may get better economy. I usually run regular U/L but I have occasionally suffered intermittant safety boost (probably caused by detting) in the very hot weather, but using Optimax in the hot months has stopped this completely. I also get an extra 25 miles between fill-ups so this off-sets the extra cost of Shell's finest. Richard

Spray buffs
Use brake fluid to remove the paint then polish the exhaust with autosol or the like. Richard
