  1. I know the feeling - a few months back I went into Camden Nissan & Renault in Aylesbury to buy a dash-board bulb. I took the old one to the parts dept and asked the girl for "One of these please" "What is it" she asked "A Bulb  " I replied "Yes, I can see that but what is it for?" "A dash-board light in a 300ZX" I replied "Sorry sir, we are a Renault dealer" "Yes" I said "But you've got a bloody great NISSAN sign outside too..... She then went out back to get someone hopefully more knowledgable and emerged with a 50-something chap in overalls I asked him the same thing to which he replied "Sorry sir, we are a Renault dealer" "OK OK, then why is there a bloody great Nissan sign just out there, surrounded by Micras and Primeras. Not only that but you've got a Nissan badge on your overalls too :smash: " "No no sir, if you want Nissan parts the nearest Nissan dealer is in Oxford???" For the sake of my own sanity I decided to leave at that point :( Richard :xxx:
  2. Sure Dan, there are some good ones - Dan Perkins Nissan in Slough are very good and they have a ZX expert in the workshop. But I'd have thought a bloke in his late 20s/early 30s selling cars for a living would have a slight interest in them and perhaps know a bit about which car is which?? Richard
  3. Hey all, I went to Homebase on Saturday and Nissan were in the carpark with a couple of demo cars. IIRC they were an X-trail, a Narva truck and an Almera. The rep was a fella in his late 20s, maybe 30 doing his best to smoothtalk any remotely attractive females passing by. I parked directly opposite him as he showed one rather nice lady the X-trail but she had noticed my ZX and looked up - obviously saying something to him about the car. "Nice car!" said the Nissan rep, "What is it?" "A 300ZX," I replied "I know that," he said, "But what make is it?" "Ha ha ha, it's a NISSAN!!!!" I laughed as I walked off into the store.... Richard
  4. http://www.arval.co.uk springs to mind - they are the Allstar fuel card people and also provide fleet lease facilities. HTH Richard
  5. True - it was on loan to Cornish Goldsmiths at Redruth. This DB5, along with most of the Bond motors is now owned by "Cars of The Stars" Museum in Keswick. The Keswick museum is definatley worth a visit - they also have one of the original KITTs, it was David Hasselhoff's personal car after filming finished. Richard
  6. Edited - someone already posted the same thing  :smash: Richard
  7. I voted "Don't be silly" FFS if you want economy ditch the ZX and buy a diesel
  8. Exactly what I was going to say - they look very good but get them all matching and that would really finish the look. Richard

Herby - what a load of old b0ll0x :nelson: The only decent car with a mind of its own was KITT :D
  10. Exactly - I have just had an offer (at fekking last) on mine for more than double what I paid for it 7 years ago, should i accept it. But I'll have to spend all that on my next house. Still at least I'll have a £250k house with only a £50-60K mortgage though..... Richard
  11. I'll look into that.......
  12. I'd still doubt that unless said GTi lump was heavily modded. The pug still wouldn't hit 60 in LESS than 5.6 secs, I don't think so no quicker there and once the ZX is rolling and the tubbies are on song the Z would still be first to 100. Wouldn't be a pushover though, by any means. 10 years ago a mate put a Cav 2.0 16v in his Nova and I had a Toyota Carina E GTi (the 173bhp one - pretty quick saloon in its day). I was still able to lose him on the a414 in Essex and I was carrying a small filing cabinet in the back FFS...... :D My ZX would demolish that Carina..... Richard ;)

Indeed if he does exist then he would surely drive a ZX too....... :x: Welcome to the club mate, Richard :D
  14. Not my cup of earl grey either - a bit to max power :x:
  15. Nice one Si  Only another week to go until you get that Z as well.  Richard :hyper:
  16. I know - i've just read the "other" thread mate...... ....welcome to the forum BTW ;) Richard :o
  17. Like all these excuses, unless it is specifically written in your contract, your employer is under NO obligation to pay you for non-attendance at work - with the exception of a minimum 20 days holiday or statutory sick/maternity pay.... .....maternity....hmmm you could try that one mate ;) Richard :D
  18. Seems a good time to suggest it, Indy, but as a ZX owner with over 100 posts, if you subscribe you may get a better response........ Just a thought :o Richard
  19. Fecking hell - I must get a diesel conversion done on my Z32 :x: NOT  Why???? Richard :o
  20. True - just read it myself as well. Richard :x:
  21. :wack: my thoughts exactly...... .....it's twats like that, who think they can drive after a year or 2 experience in a sooped up hatch, who will get you killed if you get drawn in. Best let them go - everyone knows which car is the faster it's just not worth it mate. Richard
  22. Mike Feeney at MJP (traders section) is also a good source of the 99 spec front. Richard :)
  23. Anorak moment........ Official stats (Autocar test): 0-60 ZX = 5.6, E36 M3 evo = 5.4 1/4 ZX = 14.4, E36 M3 evo = 13.9 Top ZX = 155 restricted, E36 M3 evo = 162 (not restricted) As for comparisons with age etc the E36 M3 is now getting on too, with some being 10 years old + and having covered high miles. Whilst on paper the E36 M3 is faster, the figs are so close that it is down to driver ability at the end of the day. The E46 is a different matter though - it should kill a stock ZX. Richard :)
