She gone
Never mind Jay..... .....that's the second Z you've had and sold since I've known you. So no doubt you'll be back ;) All the best mate, Richard :D

Hicas light on for a couple of minutes after cold start.
Try topping up the PAS fluid as Yas said above. Failing that it could be a faulty speed sensor. Richard :smw:

going to france for a day trip
This is true but you must have an appointment - you can't just turn up and ask for one. I had to renew mine sharpish for a business trip last year. Booked my slot at the London office, turned up with my docs, handed them in and paid £82. Two hours later I returned and collected the passport. Very efficient service, especialy for a government agency  Looks like you're not going Indy ;) Richard :smw:

What did your Parents listen too?
Sounds like my folks a little. Dad was into classical, mum Abba and Cliff :o But my fave uncle (who would also give me beer when I was 10 ;) and set me on the whole petrol head path) was into Led Zep, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, Queen, The Who etc etc etc  He drove some cool 70s cars too - a series 1 Jag XJ6 and a Lotus Cortina  We'd always go out for a drive on Sunday mornings with rock music's finest blasting while he showed me just how good it was to do 100mph ........ :hyper: Richard :smw:

Recommend mne a bank
Agree here too  I can't praise them enough. A girl at work used to bank with HSBC and switched to First Direct on my recommendation and is thoroughly chuffed. Natwest are a bunch on c*nts - Julia banked with them and and they are shite. So are Lloyds. BTW that Natwest advert where the old lady's bank is now a trendy wine bar - load of b0ll0x. Apparently more former branches of Natwest have been turned into pubs than any other bank!! :D Richard :smw:

Leather restorer ?
I had one scuff mark on the r/h bolster of the drivers seat when I bought my ZX - otherwise the leather is in excellent condition. I just used black shoe scuff coat at £1-ish fron Sainsburys. I let it dry then polished the whole seat (and all the others ;) ) with Autoglym leather cleaner/restorer. They look like new now  Richard :D

can you Spot the difference
Mainly the colour mate. The higher the number, the more blue/purple the light given out. If you want to see clearly in nice white light go for 4000k, 6000k are still clear but slightly bluer IIRC. I'd stay away from 8000k. Richard :smw:

Before & After pics.
Ditto mate, That makes what was a tacky set of rims look pretty good - and for not much cash either I'll wager. Nice one Alan. Richard :smw:

Bought a new car
Nice car, mate. Dare I say it, but I do like the Soop for the car it is. Not mad on the looks though but the right colour makes a difference - black or silver only IMO :D Enjoy it JD, Richard :smw:

I Want A Bugatti Veyron
I truly believe I deserve this car   Richard :D

North Wales Police strike again!!!
Hi Shaun, I'd write to the chief constable mate. I know Brunstrom is a complete w@nker but you have a good reason IE you did just buy the car and can prove it. Say that instead of the fine, the matter should have been dealt with using a simple "notice to rectify the problem within 14 days (or it is 7?)" or whatever it is called. Basically the copper serves this notice and you take the car to your nearest plod-station within the specified time to show them you have fixed the matter. It ends there, no fine or anything. Say that you intend to contest the fine in court (although in reality you won't as the fine is cheaper) and they may drop the charge. It is deffo worth the cost of a letter, mate. Richard :smw:

Thoughts on this rear panel please..
Hi Tony, I think it looks pretty awful as well, sorry :( . However I don't mind the carbon surround - maybe use real carbon fibre sheet rather than the "lookalike" stuff and leave the logo completely off and it could look OK. ;) Richard :smw:

Mmmmm, plucking up the courage to ask women out.
Sound advice there from Konrad, Si  And you've read the women's point of view from Emero  Go for it mate - OK there's a chance she'll say no but with each "no" comes increased confidence and it becomes easier next time. Besides the more women you do ask out, the odds of an acceptance are bound to improve. Also Si, don't forget I've met you. I reckon you're a decent fella and not some pot noodle eating wierdo so you have nothing to worry about ;) All the best, Richard :D

starting to really like skylines
Agree totally mate ;) Although I would possibly replace my ZX with a DB7 or Maseratti 3200gt........ ..........and with a nice v/w reg low mileage Mas going for little over £20k it's kinda tempting. Then I drive the ZX and think that for the money, nothing compares to it :D Richard :smw:
-
Did anyone ever bought a Z with japcity.com? Kent Terry? is it good company?
Have to agree with Bob there mate. I saw a couple of cars there when I was looking for a ZX, the only reason I didn't buy one of his was that I found a nice low mileage UK spec. He's a decent fella and won't sell you a shitter. Richard :D
-
Fitted my 99spec lights at last! Few pics...poss boring thread.
The rear end looks dead good there Si  As for the 99 spec front - leave it alone. I reckon you're right about the pearl white colour match. Plus the 99-spec front looks better on a red ZX anyway ;) Richard :D

Zed footwell mats?
Get a set made up from Autostyle mats mate. They are nicer than OEM ones IMO and you can chose a complimenting trim colour too. Probably cost less than Nissan ones as well ;) Richard :D
-
Took the Zed out today...for the first time in ages.
BTW you are a dirty post whore mate! Nearly caught up with me and I've been a member 2 1/2 years  Richard :D

Took the Zed out today...for the first time in ages.
Me too Si :hyper: In fact I was down your way today - Julia and I had a day out in Bath. Went round the Christmas market, had Sunday lunch in the Pump Room and had a gentle stroll round the city. I hadn't used the ZX for 2 weeks and really missed it. The 200 mile return drive was all the better for taking it  Richard :D

Mmmmm, plucking up the courage to ask women out.
Hey Si, At least you have made your first move - nice one mate. Give it a couple of days for her to contact you. Firstly as a waitress she obviously works unsociable hours so she's probably resting whilst you are up and working. Secondly she won't want to seem too keen either - nothing wrong with a little waiting games, but it is fekking annoying! And you're right - don't send her anything, she may think you are a wierdo if you do because you haven't been out with her yet! If you don't hear from her after that just go back there for a drink with a mate (a good mate who you feel comfortable with) and if you see her, strike up a casual conversation. AND GET HER NUMBER! Good luck mate, Richard :smw:

HID lights agian!!!!!
I reckon you're better off buying the plug and play conversion kits from the traders here. Mark at Outlander and IIRC Chris at GetGreddy do them for not much over £200-ish. No fekking about converting the headlights, you get brand new bulbs and it will take you all of 1/2 hour to fit  You know it makes sense........ ;) Richard :smw:

steering wheel
No mate, they are not the same. I assume you have a TT in which case you need the correct boss to keep the HICAS sensors working. Mike Feeney (MJP in traders) sells the right one and I think Danny (DTA) may as well. They are around £90-ish IIRC. Good luck, Richard :smw:

NZR, transit t260 van
We have a 54 reg one on our engineers fleet too. I went to the garage to collect it last week after having a new clutch fitted as the driver reckoned 2nd gear was difficult to engage..... ......and what do you know, it still was  . It doesn't jump out of gear but does crunch on changing into 2nd, around 50% on the time. The van has done 40k miles and now I know it is not the clutch so I guess it must be a common fault. Luckily our is still under warranty so I'll get it sent back again. If I find out what it is. I'll let you know. Richard :smw:
