  1. Ditto - CPS, bunch of :xxx: mate. Good to know they came to the right decision in the end though. Still it was your choice to opt for your day in court - certainly the right thing to do. If you had gone down the magistrates court route I expect you would have been found guilty. More often than not, magistrates are even more useless than the CPS - especially when dealing with motoring offences. The legal term "reasonable doubt" does not figure in magistrates' minds. If you're a motorist you are guilty - end of story  Glad it's over for you mate. Richard :)
  2. Who cares....... ......with Lax Power stating those figures the chavs in their saxos and corsas won't think about buying a ZX. Plus that also explains why they all still fancy their chances. It's great when you waste them without even trying (not that I do that anymore - I'm a grown up   ) Richard
  3. JC actually rates the car very highly - not only because he can get his ample frame comfortably inside it with no problems  There's the usual sarcasm but if you read his top 100 cars book, very few of the entries do not have the odd sarcastic comment..... Richard
  4. Have to second this too  Well built, fine engines and very good performance combined with decent fuel economy. Forget the French diesels as VW/Audi have got them bang on . Richard :)
  5. Looks very nice mate - love the totally clear look  Richard
  6. Mk3 Soop was it mate? I had the very same thing in mine..... Richard :)
  7. You Scots are indeed a tough breed. Anyone who dons a kilt without undies and runs through fields of thigh-high thistles deserves respect IMO  Richard
  8. Hi mate, Mobil-1 oil is for some reason very thin despite its viscosity rating of 0w40 (the "40" bit being the thickness and ability to flow when hot). Oil additives are generally bad news in any high performance engine and you are best off chosing a decent oil in the first place - they normally contain the same ingredients as oil additives anyway. If your engine is stock (or very lightly modded) then a "40" graded oil is more than sufficient. After all, Nissan specify a 10w40 for most needs. I would drain out the Mobil-1 and refill with another decent fully synthetic of either 5w40 or 10w40 (or a "50" rated oil if heavily modded). I use Shell Helix Ultra 5w40 and have no probs or leakage and textbook oil pressure (UK spec car, 84k miles). I used Mobil-1 0w40 in my old Supra and for some reason the oil pressure dropped significantly when hot. After reverting to CAstrol RS 0w40 or Shell 5w40 the pressure returned to normal and oil consumption decreased dramatically. For that reason I have NEVER used Mobil-1 0w40 in my ZX. Richard :)
  9. I put this down to age and use of the cars. ZX brakes were very good when new compared to most, and the braking system on the UK spec Supra was described by Autocar as one of the best ABS braking systems ever. These are both heavy fast cars and 10-15 years of hard use will take its toll. Richard :)
  10. Yup - have to agree with this too  Front lights should NEVER be messed with - they were good enough that Lamborghini stole them for the last models in the Diablo range  Rear lights - grey area. '99 spec are probably the way to go as they are the "tidyiest" option. The Lambo/Fiat conversion would look OK if someone developed them in a clear option without the horrid "orange" indicator lenses. Richard
  11. How about.... ...."If you can read this I am in safety boost"....? or ....."if you can read this call the AA, my car has broken down..." Then again I personally would not bother - slogans are too chavvy IMO  Richard
  12. Listen to this man..... ...DO NOT REMOVE THE LIGHTS!!! I have managed to change 3 sets of main beam bulbs now using this method. I can do the pair in under 15 minutes mate! Richard
  13. Actually Rob, all car dealers have to offer some kind of warranty now - even a basic 3 month "we will fix it for you" type thing. Sue the b@stard mate - reckon you have a good case. Richard :)
  14. Si, mate Whatever was wrong with your Z when you bought it not only got past you, but past Gio and I too :( At the time, the dealer (Lee, wasn't it?) seemed pretty genuine but it just goes to show you never can tell. Although that Scooby he had supposedly just sold sounded like a right bag of spanners...... Have you seen the latest ZX he has for sale - definately one to avoid IMO, but yours seemed a good genuine example. It proves now that there are very few good ZXs left in Japan for importing here so the lesson for new buyers is don't. Buy a "known" example from someone here or a car imported a few years back, when there were some good ones left - which should now have all the history since they've been in the UK And I thought that used car dealers were supposed to have cleaned up their act  Richard :)
  15. Sorry to hear this mate :( Kind of makes me mad - dealers have an obligation to their customers to sell a product fit for the purpose it was sold for. Now against my normal principles here, I would get in touch with a "no win no fee" solicitor (I feel dirty saying that) and take the scum to the cleaners. Good luck mate Richard
  16. Me too mate. I'm not a fan of tints anyway - to "Max Power meets Pimp Daddy" Better off without IMO Richard
  17. Fecking hell Si - it's a wonder you have not gone blind :nono: Richard
  18. Hi all Saw 2 Zeds there this afternoon between 3 and 4 1st one - black, on the A40 parked just after Loudwater mini roundabout. You were fiddling in your boot, I hooted as I drove past in a red ZX. 2nd one - a white UK spec reg K300###. Initially parked on the hill in Hatters Lane, then 1/2 hour later you were a couple of cars behind me on the A40 heading towards Beaconsfield. Anyone? Richard
  19. Hey Si, Just PM'd you re the sensor harness - found it, yours for free mate! Richard
  20. Sorry to hear that mate. Sounds like your solocitor fecked up there. Get in touch with the law society. Solicitor should be taken to account IMO. Good luck Richard :)
  21. That's GTOs for you  Richard :smash:
  22. Nice one Si - hope it's a good one  Replace the det sensor and harness too - otherwise it's an engine-out job if it goes bad later. Not too expensive to buy the parts either. In fact I may have a wiring harness I acquired a while back..... How are you getting the engine back to Glastonbury? Richard :)
  23. Already posted on your other thread..... .......BTW that was a "yes" to  Richard
  24. The exact words I was going to post...... Plus why do it to a 5 door - that just looks even worse :xxx: Richard :x:
  25. That's coz it's shite  However a decent low mileage later shape UK spec 3000gt could still fetch £10k. Richard :)
