  1. Awesome - thanks for sharing Andrew!!
  2. Today, I gave my Zed a good wash followed by a wipe down with Auto Finesse Glisten - and then got it back inside the garage just before the rain set in!! Hence the lack of pictures save for these two?
  3. More sound advice - and something I have done when the car has sat unused in my garage for more than two weeks. Interesting comment from Gary too, about putting polystyrene under the wheels; I have also seen other people leaving the car on axle stands to preserve the tyres!
  4. Sound advice indeed - in fact I was discussing this very issue with Jimmer and Simon when I picked up my Zed last month...... Definitely not a good idea to let the engine idle for any length of time without driving the car?
  5. They look good Andrew - I had a cheaper, Chinese made, inferior copy of those which didn't last too well. The terminals were steel, rather than copper, so corroded badly; thus necessitating replacement!
  6. Today, I had to take mine out to the tyre fitters.... ...Not for anything Zed-related though; I got a puncture in Julia's Rangie whilst visiting the dump this morning. Since she had to go out herself, I put the spare wheel on, loaded the flat one into my Zed and headed off. Sadly the puncture was too big, so they have ordered me a new tyre - nobody round here seems to stock Michelin Latitudes for some reason? Still, I enjoyed a nice little drive in the Zed - and tomorrow I'll give it a clean, rinse the under-side and pop it back in the garage once more?
  7. Mine has been outside in the cold since I collected it from Jimmer's on the 21st - but only because it's (very) dirty... I put the BMW in the garage after I washed it a couple of weeks ago, so wanted it to stay clean LOL? I had to take the Zed out this afternoon, and it fired up right away on the button! Nice Zed you have there though. Von - and sounding good too?
  8. Nice one Arthur - I took a couple of my Zed at the White Cliffs National Trust car park back in July.......
  9. LOL - they are indeed pathetic for a mighty 3.0 twin turbo'd muscle-car.... I think Nissan gave the 300zx the same horn as the Micra of the day.? To be honest, the Hella replacements are not as loud as the air-horns I previously had fitted, but they are much better quality. Plus they are small enough to hide in the tightest areas behind the splash-guard. If you want loud, try to find a pair of air-horns from a modern car that will fit, I was thinking Land Rover. Julia's Evoque has really loud ones and, as they are right behind the radiator grill (and mindful of its wading abilities), they should be pretty water-resistant! I also see that Banzai Breakers has a pair from a 350z for sale, at £15 plus P&P. Check out his Ebay shop! 2003 NISSAN 350Z Z33 VQ35DE OEM HORNS X 2 | eBay
  10. Today, I went out into the cold once again - as if I didn't learn my lesson yesterday - and I replaced the brown relay behind the front off-side wing. I don't know if J-spec cars have it, but UK cars do, as it controls the headlight washers. It was pretty damp and the terminals were green, so I cleaned and dried the connectors before plugging in the new relay. I also sealed it inside a little plastic bag with a tightly pulled cable tie, in the hope of keeping it dry in future....?
  11. Today, I had the maddest idea and decided to swap my horns this afternoon.....? I had previously fitted some cheap plastic snail-type things from Ebay. Sure, they sounded good - and they only cost about £8 for the pair. But sadly, after a couple of years sitting just inside the front intake, the connections became corroded and they tended to fail intermittently. Thus far I have probably taken them off at least 3 times to clean and grease the terminals. So I bought a pair of Hella OEM-type replacements from Amazon - and duly went out in the cold to fit them. It only took an hour, but my hands are scratched to buggery; albeit after 30 minutes I couldn't feel them...LOL!! My neighbour came out and handed me a New Year beer during the process, which probably didn't help.?
  12. Happy New Year folks - here's to 2021.....!!! Amid the ever changing tiers and differing regulations between areas, I hope each and every one of you and your families are safe and looking forward to seeing in the New Year. Julia and I should have been in Cornwall this week, but sadly it wasn't to be. In fact it's the first New Year's Eve we haven't been away somewhere - since we have been together!! Nonetheless, it has been nice to enjoy a relaxing Christmas and New Year at home for a change..... All the best?
  13. I like the OEM spoiler too - however I would have the Type 1 over the fibre-glass replica-OEM spoiler. I have the replica myself and having seen the real OEM version on Simon's, Andrew's and Gary's (GSC's) cars, it just accentuates how poorly the fibre-glass version sits on the tailgate. So my tuppence worth, ditch the replica and try to buy a real OEM spoiler (about £700 from Nissan) - or go with the Type 1. I should have done that myself back in 2018, so I'm not ruling it out for 2021...........?
  14. Nice work mate.... Thank you!!
  15. Happy 50th mate - hope you have a great day!!
  16. .....................And a very nice extended, OEM-plus rear spoiler?
  17. Indeed - I'd missed that.... I spotted the wheels though?
  18. And how about a Christmas carol.....? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NONtlwyHaRs&list=RDNONtlwyHaRs&start_radio=1&t=0
  19. The 300zx Owners' Club Committee would like to thank the membership for your support during 2020, and we wish you ALL and your families a Very safe and Merry Christmas, and all the best for 2021.
  20. Many happy returns Rich - hope all's well with you...!!
  21. Thanks Alex - and I am inclined to agree on both points....?
  22. Thanks Gary! It's a tough comparison to be honest, both have their merits. Whilst the Merc was an older design, I still think the build quality is a little better - but the BMW is much more of a drivers car - despite my Merc being an AMG. The BMW straight-6 is an awesome engine, smooth and civilised - yet seriously torquey. The power is there in spades, from virtually anywhere in the rev range - and it sounds great in sport-plus when giving it some beans. It's better equipped too - all in all, I am very pleased with it......?
  23. Back in October, you might remember me posting about a possible new daily - a German Z to join my real Zed. Well, I collected it on Halloween, and over the last few weekends when it's been dry, I have been piling on the paint protection. From the first couple of cleans, where I coated it with Chemical Guys Jet Seal (as recommended by Peach); followed by a layer of Valet Pro Beading Marvellous wax. Then next time, I slapped on some Auto Finesse Carnauba Cream. And then yesterday, as it was quite sunny, I gave it a simple wash followed by a quick wipe down with Auto Finesse Glisten. So here it is - the new daily....
