  1. Ditto - it just bolts on as it is a Nissan original part. Richard
  2. Wise decision mate. If you are serious about buying a ZX then your best bet is buy one from a member in the for sale section. More likely any work will have ben carried out properly by an enthusiastic owner, not some chav who bought one then thrashed it to pieces and sold it a year later when he realised he could not afford to run it. Sure there are some bargains out there but most cheap ZXs are cheap for a reason, not just because of the general value of used cars nowadays. Richard
  3. Good to meet 2 new members, cheers fellas. Definately have to get more people together next time! All the best Richard
  4. Agree too  Had mine 3 years and apart from the dreaded series 1 PTU it has NEVER been any trouble. OK, I did experience a little detting in the hot summer a couple years ago but that was cured with Optimax..... I used it as a daily driver, clocking up 50 miles per day for a good while; and on various holidays it has covered up to 1400 miles in a week. The only real costs are its appetite for fuel and tyres :wack: I have relegated it to a second car now, not because of reliability issues, but a nice low mileage UK spec car is very rare so I intend to keep it that way. Richard
  5. Some wise words there mate! You've a unique car Si  Look forward to seeing you here if you Go-Jap somewhere in the future. Richard :)
  6. No worries mate - will look out for it. Richard :)
  7. The benefits of ZX ownership  Nice one mate Richard
  8. MOT problems then mate? Richard :(
  9. PM me if you need assistance mate. Richard :)
  10. I'd have expected better behaviour from a respected moderator though..........
  11. SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG !!!!!!!! Richard
  12. Used to be a tax manager for an accountancy practice, so if you want the figures checked out, let me know mate. Will happily take a look to help a forum member  Richard :)
  13. Welcome to use mine in "rides" section - although it is a UK spec car. Pics are when the car was standard (bar Azev wheels) - before the 99-spec front end.... Richard
  14. Ditto - excellent service and cover  Excellent price too   Richard :)
  15. Expensive??? They are a lot cheaper than what I would normally pay for other branded tyres (Goodyear GSD3, Dunlop SP sport 9000, Michelin Pilot Sport, Bridgestone etc etc). I agree with you on the safety thing though - hence I've always bought premium brands with proven reputations. I asked the question as I thought the Toyos were cheap.... Richard
  16. Looks good mate..... .....enjoy  Richard
  17. Fair play mate! I had a then-new GTE back in 1988 at the tender age of 18. Didn't last me long though; some RS Turbo-driving dope forced me into the forest to avoid a head on  The Mk2 Astra had the "Pregnant Roller-skate" look back then but was still way better that anything Ford could offer and there are very few good examples left now. Always loved that "Knightrider" dash too  Some may slag off Vauxhalls but before I caught the Jap bug in 1993, that's all I ever owned and they make some pretty decent engines. Richard
  18. So true mate  Richard :x:
  19. One more suicide and the plod will put speed cameras on the M1. Seriously - that's why there are speed traps on the M4 in Wiltshire (according to Jezza Clarkson). Apparently he reckons that once the road death toll reaches a certain level it justifies camera placements, however it doesn't matter how the deaths occur. So a few losers leaping off bridges still count as road deaths....... Then again, it could all be b0ll0x :x: Richard :wack:

No, the sport has the same 4.2 V8 engine as the Jag XKR - yup, the 400 bhp supercharged one. The Cayenne Turbo S is a very quick 4x4. 0-100 is around the 14 sec mark and they top out at 168mph. Still ugly as feck though........ Richard
  21. As title - anyone tried them yet. They are not for my ZX, but my daily driver as I don't like the tyres on there at the moment. These new Toyos are virtually the same tread pattern as Dunlop SP9000 sport (which I'm very pleased with on my ZX) yet I can get a set of 4 for the Merc fully fitted by e-tyres for under £350 - around £30 less than the Dunlops. Richard :)
  22. No Probs here either - 12.30 probably better anyway  Richard
  23. Exactly. Whilst we all bask in the fact that "higher up the range" and "top end" the ZX still holds the advantage, the truth is with a 0-60 of 5.6 stock, owners of lesser "Lax Power" type cars have to spend a fair bit of cash to get their cars up to ZX levels of straight line performance....... ..............and they won't look as good either  Richard

I also agree with this principal...... ......however on a personal note, Ken Livingstone is a :xxx: and I'm pleased at what happened to him  Very childish I know and bad news for democracy, but f#ck him. Richard
  25. Most likely culprit is the sensor rather than the guage. New ones are around £80 from Nissan so aftermarket is the cheaper option. I personally prefer the stock interior without loads of guages, hence I forked out for the Nissan replacement :wack: Richard
