What a difference.......
Do it mate! My car had occasionally been showing a little smoke from the left side on idle for a couple of years. Not long after I had a less restrictive cat-back exhaust in fact; hence I thought it was the the turbo seals. However after finally having the PCVs done the smoking has gone:dance: Phew......;) Richard:D

B*stard Autobox
Sorry to hear that mate:cry: I'm having a bit of bother with mine too - it doesn't want to change up unless I ease off the accelerator; 2nd being the major problem. I had a chat with an auto-box specialist yesterday and he's looking at mine Tuesday. He thinks it may be something simple like a throttle position sensor but he did say at worst it could be the internal seals within the box. He said that's a common problem with Japanese auto-boxes. If it's bad he quoted me £1200 plut VAT for a re-build..... ......as I don't use the car much now I'm not sure whether to have it re-built, go for a manual conversion or just have a known "good" second hand replacement. I will know Tuesday; but I hope yours is not too serious or expensive. Richard:(

What a difference.......
I have just had my PCV valves replaced and I cannot believe how much better the car feels:dance: I bought the kit 3 years ago but never got round to getting it fitted. When I collected my Z on Monday the mechanic said it's made a difference to the performance but I didn't really expect it. He showed me the old ones and they were all gunked up! The car now feels a bit more lively and the smoking on idle has gone - good news there as I thought one of the turbo seals was on its way out:dance: Richard:smw:

AA breakdown repair cover
Not so mate - if you have recovery included in your membership then the RAC will also take you anywhere you want. The different levels of cover are pretty similar for both the AA and RAC. Richard:)

Speed at 4500rpm
As others have said, 4500rpm in a twin turbo in top gear is quite a bit over 100mph mate......... .......Even if you were doing "only" 100 you're still getting a few points and a fine if it was a speed-camera van that clocked you:( Richard

goodyear f1 tyre question ! help !
A bit of an odd question - may I ask why you need to know? Whilst the "225" bit refers to the tead width, tyres of a higher profile will generally bulge once the weight of the car is upon them;) Lower profile tyres (like the stock UK spec rears of 245/45/16), having a less deep side wall don't flex so much, so give les "bulge." Also the width of the rim can make a difference; narrower rims would also encourage a little extra bulge, whereas wider rims stretch the tyre, reducing said bulge...... I have used Goodyear GSD3 F1 tyres, but not stock size and I don't remember there being any unnecessary sidewall bulging........(see pic) Richard:smw:

Would Jesus drive a ZED?
No because he is dead..............(if he existed in the first place):x: But if there was such a thing as Satan then I reckon he might drive one if he were around today........;) Richard:D PS; I'm sorry if my comments offend any Christians here. I mean no disrespect, it's just my opinion as a non-Christian.....

Spoiler Brake Light Wiring
Exactly as Vinz says.......;) I just traced one of the brake light wires in the rear cluster, then ran a live from it. It went behind the boot trim inside the r/h rear wing, then up the c-pillar (ooh er misses) and into the tailgate through the rubber hose where the wash-wipe cables go. Or at least that's how I think I did it...... Richard:smw:

True......! Although it's not actually bad at the minute - there was just a little too much play on the near side for the MOT tester;)

Z32 mats from Autostyle...anyone rate them?

Z32 mats from Autostyle...anyone rate them?
Hey Si, They are top quality - especially their "Premier" range. I have the mid-range item (I believe it was called the "Diplomat" at the time) in black with red piping. The fit and finish give that nice OEM look so I'd thoroughly recommend them mate! Richard;)

Thinking of trading in the zed.....
Personally I think the E36 has had its day and would not bother. In the past, BMWs looked good until the new model arrives and then the older one looks eceptionally dated. This has happened in a big way with the E36, however the E46 still looks good despite being replaced recently. I do quite like the E46 and if it's a convertible you want then an E46 330 would be a better bet than an E36 M3 cab. All just IMO though - and I did consider an E36 M3 coupe (among others)before buying my ZX all those years ago....... Richard:smw:

Used every day or not
Agreed..... ......if I lived a mile from work I'd walk - I would not want to ruin any car by driving that short a distance each day. Richard;)
