Hmmmm nice colour?!?!?!?
My thoughts exactly.......:hurl: Richard:rofl:

Can I put 16" 8.5J's on the front as well?
In theory; yes....... ......however the idea of changing aspect ratios is also to keep the rolling circumference and overall wheel diameter as close as possible to the OEM fitment. That way the speedo, ABS and other speed related sensors remain unaffected. Stock front size is 225/50/16; so if you increase the tyre width you need to drop the profile (apsect ratio) to keep the diameter the same. Hence 245/45/16. Similarly if you upgrade to 17 inch rims; the 225/50 would become 225/45/17 and 245/45 would become 245/40/17. And so on with 18s at 225/40/18 and 245/35/18 etc etc. BTW; did you receive the pics yesterday mate? Richard:)

What plug?
Hi Rob, I had to edit your post by removing the link to your 'site and references to prices for parts etc. Unfortunately unsubscribed members are not permitted to sell on here. In addition we have traders who have paid an increased sub in order to benefit from regular selling; who also supply a similar product. Any unauthorized trading conflicts with this arrangement so is strictly forbidden. If you would like to become a trader, please contact Znut - the club's TLO. Richard

Thanks to Zedworld...
Agreed:bow: You can't go wrong taking your Z to Jeff and co!!! Richard:cool:

Who does Zed interiors and what are the best seats?
They may not be the best looking seat (although I think they look OK) it's not just about appearance. You have to sit in them more than you look at them; and IMO, the OEM seat is one of the best I've sat in:bow: Richard:cool:

3.0 bmw z4
I've only seen one on the road - athough I did have a good look over a demo model at the Geneva motor show this year and I was quite impressed. I also think that colour makes a big difference and from pics it looks really good in metalic blue but not so good in some other colours...... Richard;)

I think I've just broke my foot!!
Ouch!! I hope for you that it's not broken mate; get yourself to A&E in the morning just to be sure, though.... Good luck! Richard:)

3.0 bmw z4
I was never a fan of the Z4; although it's better than the Z3. Way better.... .....But I really like the new Z4 with the metal folding roof. I am considering buying one (the i35 twin turbo) in a year or so when I come to replace the SLK....... Richard

just over 1000miles in a year
About the same for me - and I thoroughly agree with your opinion mate!! TBH, mate, if you don't mind the fuel costs then 15k miles a year is probably not going to make much difference to the value of any 15-20 year old car. Sure a genuine low mileage example may command a slight premium but considering the current prices some ZXs are fetching I wouldn't worry about mileage - overall condition is more important;) Richard:)

Zedworld's work
Likewise...... ......And Linda will very kindly drop you at Tamworth station. Luckily my Z is a second car so I can leave it with Jeff & co for a few days if something needs doing;) Richard:)

Can I put 16" 8.5J's on the front as well?
Shouldn't be a problem - although on 16 inch rims you'd need 245/45/16 tyres not 50s..... Richard

Lady Gaga has a bulge!!
Yep - and I knew there was something not quite right there:rofl: I wouldn't touch her(?) with yours (or her's:rofl:) for that matter:tongue: Richard:nono:

Zedworld's work
A wise decision; your car will be in safe hands, buddy! Richard:)

WINNERS ~ Club Annual Awards 2009
Congratulations to all - well deserved results all round IMO; and I'm sorry I couldn't make it to JAE on this occasion. Still I look forward to next year's event........ Thanks for that Allan; that means a lot; I'm just pleased to be part of a good team!!! I'd have though that any one of us deserved the honour so I'm quite (pleasantly) surprised it went to me this time......:o Richard:)

KIMS JAE 09 Thread!
Nice work Kim - sorry I could not make it..... .......Still there's always next year. And my old Z made it there courtesy of its new owner. And it looks good in your pics!! Richard:)

JAE from Jeff TT + ConZult results
NIce one Jeff.... ......I look forward to seeing the results. It's amazing what a little tweaking following a Conzult can do - my Z runs so much sweeter & cooler, with better response since I collected it from Jeff a couple of weeks ago...... Richard:cool:

Replacing bulbs
It is a bit fiddly but a little patience and a lot of scratched hands later and you'll manage it! H1 is the only fitting for the main beam. Push the clips together and remove the whole assembly. The H1 bulb is a press-fit into the adaptor. Remove the old one once you have taken it out of the light, press in the new one and clip the whole assembly back into the lamp. Richard:)

Zedworld's work
I can vouch for Zedworld's work mate - they do a top job and IMO no-one knows the 300zx like Jeff and co. I do believe that Jeff has revised some of his prices very recently - I think owing to Nissan's parts price increases - but he hasn't updated the website yet. Richard:)

Stepping Down
Flippin 'eck Steve - I never expected that!! I'm sorry to see you step down as club sec mate - you've done a great job and I reckon you will be a tough act to follow.... .......All the best with your future plans and like everyone else says; don't be a stranger on here! Richard:)

What to restore the dash with?
Any cleaner with a matt finish - I agree with Si all the way on shiney dash boards;) Armour-All make oil of orange wipes with a matt finish; they clean well and leave pleasant effect afterwards. Autoglym interior shampoo is also good and will not leave that aweful shine you get on dodgy old Mondeos from back street car dealers......:p Richard:cool:

Nissan V Blueprint ... Cambelt showdown
Another good, informative thread from Jeff.... For such vital components I reckon it's clear that "pattern" parts should not be used in place of OEM items. Wasn't there a similar comparison between the NIssan waterpump and the Blueprint copy some time back? IIRC the Nissan one had a much bigger impeller; thus could pump the water around the engine more effectively..... ....And we all have the same opinion on oil filters.....;) Richard:D

Overdrive Issue
Which car mate - I clicked on the link only to see loads of cars listed....... Back to the 'box issue though. It could be a simple electrical fault that is somehow locking out 4th gear; or else the auto 'box could be shot with complete loss of 4th gear. A full auto box rebuild will cost you around 1200 plus VAT for a proper warrantied job. Personally I would not buy a car upon the owner's claim that a repair will "only cost a couple of hundred." I'd get an independent professional opinion before buying..... Richard:cool:

cornwall meet-sept 09
I'm sorry chaps/chapesses, I'm afraid I can't make an evening meet.... I have dinner booked at my hotel each night and we have friends joining us for a meal Sunday evening. Plus I'm not taking the ZX now - I only managed to half install my new induction kit yesterday; well I've removed the air box anyway:nono: HAve a good one though; hopefully there'll be another meet next time I'm down (January). I'm off to hit the road now! Richard:cool:

What series is my car ????????
For a Uk spec, there are 2 main differences between S1 and S2. Panel trim; S1 = tweed; S2 = alcantara (suede type fabric) Heater controls; S1 = fully auto with ambient (outside) temp display; S2 = partially manual controls for fan direction and loss of ambient temperature. I'm sure there are other subtle differences but that should help identify what you have. Richard:)
