A few more bits done today......
I bought back the Blue Flame exhaust from my old Z (thanks Pete:bow:) and had it fitted yesterday..... ......plus I bought a black strip for the rear spoiler from MJP, along with a new "twin turbo" badge. I stuck them on this morning - I reckon it does look better by finishing off the shape of the rear lights:cool: It was pretty fiddly to get it smooth though and I reckon I could have done a better job if I'd tried a bit harder! And I know it's a bit dirty but it's going in to have the the driver's door painted on Thursday so I'll clean it when I get it back!! Richard:hyper:

42 years old & I can't wipe my arse anymore (graphic pictures)
It does look good mate - I reckon I prefer the "sans wiper" look.... ......however personally, I'll keep the wash-wipe function as it's quite a large rear screen and I find the wiper comes in handy......Then again there is always Rain-X;) Definitely have that wiper hole filled though mate!! Richard:cool:

Oil pressure
As did I...... ......well JeffTT did it for me;) Richard:cool:

300zx vs e92 m3 no video
Not on here buddy - the vast majority of us know are not of the "Max Power" pub talking breed and know the realistic limitations of our cars;) Richard:cool:

Round 'em up, put em in a field
That would definitely solve some of our society's problems!! Nice idea Bri:rofl: Richard:D

Got a new steering wheel.
Ohhh; I like that one even more than the one you just fitted!! Nice one Si:bow: Richard:cool:

sidelight alteration..
I have to agree - keep the same colour all round! Richard:)

Know how to replace a rear aerial?
Exactly!! I did mine in 1/2 an hour - the most time consuming part is removing/refitting the boot trim. Once you get the panels out, it's easy to follow what to do. Also remember to connect the rubber gromet for the drainage tube to ensure that excess water flows out under the boot and not inside your rear wing;) Richard:cool:

Near to Oxford
I'd say Z-world as well..... .....I'm in Great Missenden (8 miles from M40 J4) and it's about an hour and a quarter to Jeff's! You can't go wrong taking it up to Z-world mate! Richard:)

my new car for while i save for my next 300
Lovely looking car Pete..... ......those pics do it even better justice than the one you sent to my phone this afternoon!! It looks superb in white; and definitely a better choice than an MGF!!:hyper: Have fun with that - I hope it serves you well until you decide to buy another ZX ATB Richard:cool:

New centre caps.....
I know it's a bit sad, but I bought some centre cap covers from E-bay to go on my wheels..... .....I removed the "Mania" sticker and added these "Z" items. Sure it's the Z from the 350 but I don't think they're too bad. Plus they match my valves!!! Unfortunately a stupid tyre fitter has lost one of the original caps so I have to locate a new one; Wheelmania no longer have them so I'd be grateful for any suggestions..... Richard:)

SWB or LWB??
I reckon that the LWB has a more "balanced" look about it. And according to some literature, the LWB is more stable at high speeds - although, like any possible performance differences, I doubt you'd notice much difference on the road. A good 300zx is just that - whether it's LWB/SWB/manual/auto etc etc. It's all down to your own personal preference in the end;) Richard

rosie webster in suspenders

how does a 300 do against
Exactly - Well said Pervez, the perfect post on which to end this thread, I think. Now that it's run it's course I am closing it. Richard:)

Tyre speed rating
It would have been Z rated (of course:hyper:)..... .....there were no sub divisions on those days - V rated was up to 149mph and Z rated for 150mph+ Now we also have W and Y rated (kind of sub-divisions of the Z rating) which I think are up to 168mph and 186mph respectively. So either will do; although Y rated is probably best. After all it's not just the highest speed rating, but the whole characteristics of the car. And an un-restricted ZX TT could probably top 168mph! how does a 300 do against
It's just a brilliant read isn't it - you have just gotta love this club:rofl: Cheers, and see you tomorrow mate!! Richard:)

how does a 300 do against
Have to agree with this - an SL55 will whip the ass of ANY "almost standard" ZX TT; along with the vast majority of modified ones:rolleyes: Richard

Airbox
Those pipes chanel the air into the stock air box. Leaving them in place does no harm - they may even help to direct cooler air into the area left by the 'box; to be sucked in by your new indiction kit! Richard:cool:

Want to repaint my Z. A grand master plan or just a pipe dream....not decided yet
Allan (StellaZ) has made some good points for all parties in this thread. Let's remember that this thread was originally started by FunkySi to gauge our opinions on what colour change, if any, he should consider for his Z. I have deleted all unnecessary posts, regardless of whom they were made by. In addition I have edited a couple of posts to remove unnecessary content, or references to said deleted posts. The moderators have no intention of hitting the ban button at the moment; we also have nothing against friendly banter, however please keep things on topic otherwise our intentions may change! Richard:)

I feel relieved a pleased
That's good news Pete..... ......incidentally I walked passed the place that refurbed the auto box on my way to the dentist this morning. I did pop my head round the door but the owner wasn't about and I had an appointment to keep:o I can still go and see him for you if you like; it's only accross the road from my office.... Glad you have sourced a manual conversion though! Hope to see you over the weekend too re the exhaust - I'll be in touch! ATB Richard:)

I love my new Z
Blast! - a mini meet:headvswal And I could have left Julia at the shops for the afternoon instead of trying to look interested whilst she browsed at some old crap that I'll never even notice once she has bought it...... Richard;)

Cruise control speed limiter question
That's surprisingly quite a long way out - especially considering your wheel/tyre sizes Si. Mine's barely 2mph different at 70mph and even at 100 it is still close; maybe 2-3mph in it. I'm running 265/35/18 rear tyres.... I cannot comment on the cruise though as I only ever use mine in restricted areas like roadworks; if I do decide, the odd rare occasion, to fracture the speed limit, then I'll never use the CC. It's too unnerving flying towards the back of a car travelling at 70 when you're doing 1** plus (autobahn of course) with no foot on the pedals:slap: Richard;)
