Bank holiday weekend, woop woop, what are we all up to?
Haven't decided exactly yet; but..... ......Julia is working Saturday so I'll have a quiet day to myself and wash/wax my cars if it's dry. Plus mow the lawn.... Then out for dinner in the evening. Sunday; hopefully I'll get to take the ZX out for a run as I haven't used it for 2 weeks. I picked up my freshly sprayed J-spec nose panel today; it looks nice and smooth with its shiny new red Z badge.... So maybe we'll visit a National Trust property (well I'm getting old now:blink:) or the coast.... Monday - not too much; maybe another little drive in the ZX, lunch in the pub and a few chores in the afternoon. Richard:biggrin:

300zx conversion
Hi Jane Mark - Topless on here - did the conversion to his convertible ZX some time ago.... ......I don't recall it being cheap or easy though; but then nothing is on a 300zx! Why not drop JeffTT a line and ask his advice? Richard:cool3:

FunkySi's appeal result
Following Simon's permanent ban from the club last week' I received his formal appeal and presented it to the rest of The Committee, so that we could reconsider our position on the matter. I can confirm that Simon's case (and the grounds for his appeal) was discussed among The Committee in a fair and just manner; and the matter was put to the vote. With the poll now closed, The Committee has voted that Simon's permanent ban shall remain in force. With regret, FunkySi is permanently banned from The Club for the reasons stated in my previous thread. The Committee's decision on this matter is now final. Once again may I remind everyone that this is a private matter between Simon and The Committee. Any attempts to cause trouble on the forums or stir up any anti-club spirit will be swiftly moderated; with persistent offenders being dealt with in accordance with The Club's usual policy on such matters. Thank you. Richard Smith Club Secretary On behalf of The Committee

Me at work......
I remember the APT as well - the electric one came out around 1980 and ran the Euston - Glasgow service!! There's still one at the NRM in York..... ....wasn't the prototype a gas turbine train? IIRC it ran on the GWR route to Bristol and set a new record. I was only 10 at the time..... Cool - I was going to ask about the 3rd/4th rails on the left hand test track! Can you really get a train up to 145 and back again on an 11 mile test track? Or was that done on another line....? Me too mate - I had a big 00-scale layout many years ago at my parents and I'd happily build another now. If I had time (and permission from Julia....). Still I can endulge my passion by visiting the odd steam railway whilst on holiday etc..... Seeing Mallard at the NRM always makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end - it's still an awesome machine today!! I also had the Hornby APT back when I was 10; plus an HST or two..... I agree!! Richard:cool2:
