  1. That's a toughy..... ......I do like the 99-spec rear spoiler and I have thought about geting one many a time!! However I also like the original spoiler as it's more subtle. If it were my car, and looking at Gary's black one, I reckon I'd stick with the old '89 version. Richard:cool2:
  2. My thoughts too..... .....I can't wait to see pics with your new wheels - that should finish it off nicely mate!! Richard:yes:
  3. My old 1991 UK spec only had the electric driver's seat; whereas on my 1994 UK spec both front seats are electric and heated.... Richard:chef:
  4. I have to agree.... .....I've stopped using all hand car washes now and do it myself. Always!! I've seen so many cars come away from these places with swirl marks - where they have not made sure the mit (or worse, sponge) is free from bits of crap before wiping it all over someone's paintwork.... In fact, when my SLK has a service I won't even let the MB dealership clean it. I always make sure the service manager is informed not to let their sponge-monkey near my car!! Richard:biggrin:
  5. I agree with Allan - DON'T start the car. It's just cruel:thumbdown: I wondered how a cat got in there - either you have a small cat or a bloody great dustbin for an exhaust!! If the cat cannot turn around it's probably going to have a problem coming out of its own accord. Dismantle the exhaust or call the fire brigade..... Richard
  6. Welcome to the club and good luck with your new purchase! Do get some pictures up when yuo get it..... As for insurance, if you go for a classic, give Lynbrooks a call. They are one of the cheapest around - depending on your individual circumstances of course. Richard:cool3:
  7. I hadn't used my ZX for about 4 weeks so I decided to take it for a run this morning. It fired up immediately (I had barely turned the key) and with no knocks or rattles....... I had originally intended to go to Sainsbury's and back - about a 15 mile round trip - but I was enjoying myself so much that I just kept driving. I ended up covering 50 miles!!! It made me remember how great a car the 300zx is and how much I missed driving it. So when we go out for the day tomorrow, I think I know which car we'll take..... Richard:cool3:
  8. Looks good mate!! I also run with 225/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rears and my car drives and handles just fine! I suppose I could/should have gone 235 on the front but I just replaced with the same sizes already there. Richard:cool3:
  9. There is another Nissan OEM cubby-hole which has a spring loaded flap closing it off. I bought mine 7 years ago, although I can't remember where from! Mike Feeney may be able to get you one though..... I only have this pic which shows what it looks like..... Richard:cool3:
  10. Flippin' 'eck Tudor - I don't envy you mate!! Steevo, I hope your mouth gets better quickly. I have had a couple of extractions in the last 2 years and, whilst they were painless during surgery, it was a bugger eating for a few days after each one. Luckily I heal quickly so the bleeding stopped almost immediately and after a week the holes were gone. Take care cleaning your teeth for the first couple of days and, if you get food in the socket, I found that a cotton bud soaked in TCP did the trick!! Now I don't like the gaps left so I'm thinking about dental implants - although at £1000+ a go I'm not sure it's worth it. And I'm sure it will hust as well..... Richard:biggrin:
  11. Happy birthday mate! Richard:rockon:
  12. Many happy returns Nick - have a great day!! Richard:happybday:
  13. I voted scrap as well mate - and that is with both head and heart. Thing is, you know it's going to cost you a lot more than the car is worth to fix; and you'll not know for some time whether there is any underlying damage caused by water getting in where it shouldn't. You already mentioned the rear brake lines needed doing before the flood damage - that's a good £600 (JeffTT did my red ZX) before you even start! You can buy a decent ZX for £3k so my advice is to do just that - and take all the nice bits from your old one for the new one; then sell what's left to recover some cash. Sorry to hear your bad news mate - but hopefully a nice new ZX should cheer you up. Richard:chef:
  14. Same here mate! Find a good one and stick with them.... Richard:thumbup1:
  15. Nice work Andy!! £10 sent mate - good luck and please do show us the pics!! Richard:donatello:
  16. LOL - I was thinking that as well.... ......and stay away from me in general please "Jonah!" Richard:biggrin:
  17. Now that's one way of making a Supra look attractive!!! Richard:thumbup:
  18. I guess the sheep in Wales have to be fast to get away from the locals.....:clown::lol: Richard:smartass:
  19. I'll try and do 5000 miles..... ....I have just renewed my classic insurance on that mileage basis and I'll make damn sure I get my money's worth!! I certainly managed it last year; just. Richard:cool2:
  20. Yup - I agree on the 55! I drove one a couple of years back and loved it; but like you say the 350 is more than adequate. I think you're right about a new SLK coming out next year - I've seen a couple of pics so I reckon I'll have to start saving very soon....... Richard:biggrin:
  21. Cheers Paul - you would definitely know mate!! I was considering the AMG55 this time (as I still hanker for a V8); but for the same money I'd be looking at a 4 year old one with quite a few more miles on it. Plus it would not have been anywhere near as well spec'd; so I chose the much newer car! The guy who bought it new must have paid a fortune as he added virtually every option - I think the only thing missing is the heated steering wheel.... The revised 350 engine is certainly a cracker and does make the AMG look a bit less attractive or necessary! Richard:cool2:
  22. JeffTT would know the answer..... .....and as for new parts; you can't go wrong with Mike Feeney at MJP! Richard:cool3:
  23. A belated happy birthday mate!! Hope you had a great day. Richard:cool2:
  24. LOL true mate - but he honest.... ....you'd still watch a vid of him squeezing it.....:whistling: Richard:devil:
