  1. I'd love a set of those..... ......so how about I abuse my power and ban you forever Daz if you don't pic me......:tt2::innocent: LOL - only joking mate; they're probably gone now anyway but they do look a great interior upgrade! Superb find Daz!!! Richard:chef:
  2. And on the Isle of Wight plus a few other places Jane - I agree there's a faint smell of haddock surrounding this one!! If she was local to you and you could see the car and papers etc right away; then maybe there could have been a hint of a genuine sale about it..... ......but just as 2+2=6; something does not add up!! Shame as it could have been ideal. Still, keep looking and I'm sure something will turn up! Richard:chef:
  3. Wow - this is shaping up to be one hell of a meet!!! A big thanks to Jeff, Jamie and Lynda for hosting it and I for one am looking forward to seeing everyone there!!! Richard:cool2:
  4. I'm afraid I have to agree with Brian. Sure; if someone can, and does indeed want to, help by assisting in the procurement of said materials, then please do PM Scatrat with what you are willing and able to do. As far as the club is concerned, we are all sorry to hear what has happened, but do not condone any suggestion of financial help from the members on this occasion. I am closing this thread for the time being - but as said; please feel free to answer Scatrat's initial request by PM if you are able to assist him. Thank you. Richard For The Committee
  5. Agreed - assuming you mean the Audi mate.....:flowers: Richard:cool2:
  6. That looks a great buy - the VAG 1.9tdi engine is extremely durable and efficient; plus great Audi build quality and image! I reckon you could do a lot worse..... Richard:thumbup1:
  7. If it's a fibre glass replica then I'd go the whole hog and get the body shop to paint and fit it all in one..... ......And whilst I don't know, if you have bought a FB replica, what condition it's in; but I bought a new one for my red ZX about 6 years back and it needed a lot of prep/sanding before painting. I think it cost me around £200-250 to sand/prep/paint and fit in the end. Oh, and they removed the old one as well.... Richard:chef:
  8. Welcome to the club Billy!! And congrats on your new purchase too mate - do get some pics up when you can.... Richard:cool3:
  9. No worries mate - do feel free to drop me a PM if you want me to take a look...!! Richard:chef:
  10. Many happy returns Tony! Richard:rockon:
  11. You're right mate - in the interior pic, you can just see the hole in the door card where the door mounted seat belt is fixed at the bottom - check left side of the pic, about 1/3 up from bottom!! Also as Gonzo says, the add states it's a 1991 so without the boost guage it must be an n/a.... The car is in Chesham which is about 3-4 miles from me. I can check it out at the weekend for you Baz, if you're seriously interested in it - it might save you a trip if it's shite..... Richard:cool3:
  12. The Stig LOL........ .....I did wonder who it might be; and seeing Tiff this week got me thinking is it him?? On my local radio station just now it was suggested that the new Stig might be a girly...... Richard:biggrin:
  13. Intersting mate....! But surely extra combustion chamber heat can lead to pre-ignition (which is why turbo cars have intercoolers - to cool the heated air before it enters the intake). Hence in the summer when the ambient temp is higher, the intercoolers are not as effective. So to reduce the chance of pinking a higher octane fuel is better? I sometimes found that my red ZX would go into safety boost on regular unleaded if the outside temp got over 27 degrees; but a swift top up with super would prevent it...... Richard:balloon:
  14. LOL - that's just Flea-Bay I guess!! Most of Ebay is clogged up with shite which the seller thinks is priceless but everyone else knows is worthless old tat.......:pinch::thumbdown: ......But there's always one sucker willing to hand over ££££s for said piece of junk that you or I couldn't even give away.... Richard:scooter:
  15. I did pop a post on Sir Charles's Shogun thread - but I'm not going to spam his "for sale" ad anymore.... ......what kind of example would I be setting if I did....LOL:oops: Richard:chef:
  16. LOL - I'd say there's a fair chance...... I reckon you were unluck with the Corolla though; Toyotas generally fair better in the reliability stakes:crying: Richard:chef:
  17. Nice going Jane!!! A £50 loss is pretty damn good really - I'm impressed!! Now what are you going to buy? Richard:cool3:
  18. No worries mate - like Graham says, run it on regular and see how it is..... .....but if you find you're filling up more often, then maybe the extra MPG you get from super will offset the cost of the higher octane fuel anyway. Also you may find you need to use super in the hot weather - I sometimes find that mine is better for it when the outside temp gets above 25 degrees! Richard:cool3:
  19. Exactly mate!! When I changed jobs back in 2004 my ZX was still my daily driver - and before I moved closer to work, I was driving around 50 miles each day in it and it was just fine! My ZX may be a weekend toy now but I still use it for holidays and often cover over 1500 miles during a week away. I've had no issues so far...... Richard:cool3:
  20. I'd have thought it should be OK mate..... .....the UK spec cars are fine with normal 95 ron unleaded (the manual specifies it!!)and they're all TTs; so I'm not sure why imports should need super. I thought the ECU should "adapt" itself for changes to fuel grades. Richard:cool2:
  21. Wow - that's looking superb Allan!! Great colour as well and he's done a great job judging by your pics..... Richard:cool2:
  22. Sorry to hear that mate - and I too hope it's nothing serious. Good luck and best wishes to you both; and please to keep us informed mate.... ATB Richard
  23. Woohoo!! Thanks for the reminder Kim - I hadn't noticed..... Richard:sorcerer:
  24. Happy birthday old chap - have a good one....... Richard:cool3:
  25. Happy birthday buddy!! Richard:sorcerer:
