  1. I agree mate:whistling:
  2. Exactly what he said! Remember the tyres are the only thing between you and the road so don't ever skimp on them - especially in a 300bhp RWD monster of a car. Richard:wink: PS - me, I have the Goodyear asymetrics and they are absolutely superb. But you do pay for that kind of performance......
  3. Personally I'd say no. Stock is 225/50/16 so going up to 17 inch wheels should ideally be 225/45/17. But some of us go a little wider with the 235/45/17 combo with no major issues; however 225/50/17 will make the rolling circumference too different rom where it's meant to be. And whilst some have said that it really only matters on the rear wheels, remember that both front and rear should be as close to each other too; in order to keep the ABS sensors in tune with each other. Just my opinion though..... Richard:innocent:
  4. Yup - a belated RIP Henry from me too. He was a top fella and one of the nicest sports personalities there was. It's a sad loss IMO. Richard:cry:
  5. Glad to hear your daughter is OK Gary - and thankfully the other party accepted liability. It makes the whole claims process easier..... .....and as for the damage to her car - I'm with Gio mate. If they write it off, make sure you get a decent price from the insurers (ie one that will enable you to replace the car like for like) and buy another. Even a reputable body shop nowadays can still do a half-arsed repair; making things a lot more hassle than they are worth. Good luck mate! Richard:cool2:
  6. Whilst Jane hs posted some wise words (in theory) there are many more who will not take comfort in them.... .....me? Well Bin Laden has (alegedly) been in hiding for almost 10 years or so now and nothing much has changed. We still cannot board a plane without some uniformed type wanting to shove his hand up your arse just in case you have a bomb hidden. Unless you are actually a suspicious looking bearded type in Middle-Eastern dress; whereby you're waved straight through (you know, just in case you might be offended by any racist hate crime). So will it make any difference now? I doubt it. It is a bit of a coincidence though that Barak Obama's popularity has been flagging somewhat lately and suddenly Bin Laden has been found and killed.........:innocent: But say what you like about the Yanks - at least they still "take out the bin" on a bank holiday......... Richard:arabia:
  7. A belated happy birthday buddy! Richard:oops:
  8. Happy birthday mate! Richard:thumbup:
  9. HAppy birthday mate! Richard:thumbup:
  10. I don't - my ZX works just fine......:tt2: But if that ever changes then I'll book it in with Jeff.......!! Richard:whistling:
  11. If that's the case (and you've not upped the boost) then stock boost is around 9psi - although you may see 10 or just over on the stock guage..... .....14 is too much... I've not had any problems with mine so far this year; but it hasn't really been hot enough yet. I have a UK car which is fine with regular unleaded - although when the ambient temperature gets above 26 degrees, I find that super unleaded can often work better.... Richard:cool2:
  12. I'm in agreement with Daz..... .....you have a damn fine car there Dave. If you want a manual, sure you could sell yours and buy another, but end up with a bag of spanners. If your's is sound (and you've just had that fantastic paint job done) then keep it. Get it converted to manual when funds allow. Richard:cool2:
  13. Replied mate! Richard:thumbup1:
  14. Hi Rich, thanks for your enquiry and welcome to the forum. I'll bring this up in the Committee forums for Brian's attention; then we can all discuss it and get back to you. Brian has been a little busy with work and personal committments over the last couple of days, which may explain why he has not yet been in touch. For now though I'm closing the thread as it has moved a little away from your original topic..... Richard:cool3:
  15. Exactly! Whilst it looks fixable one has to consider whether it's economically viable to do so; or just cut your losses and buy a new one! And I reckon you did the right thing. Good luck with your new ZX mate. Richard:sorcerer: PS who says J-spec cars are not rusty..........
  16. Nothing since his brother's post on 23rd mate..... ....although his user account was last active yesterday evening:confused1: Richard
  17. LOL - Amen brother.......:tt2:
  18. LOL - you haven't experienced my wife's packing mate!! 100 outfits for a week's holiday with different shoes to match......:cursing: Richard:oops:
  19. Well said Allan!! It's not about the royal wedding for me - like most men I dread the thought of weddings (except my own - LOL) and would rather not watch; just like I'd rather not attend someone else's. BUT it's great to see some national pride and patriotism once more; and that is why the royal wedding is a good thing. That and an extra day's holiday.......:winkiss: Richard:sorcerer:
  20. LOL - in Tunbridge Wells......?? ......I didn't think it was rough there; still, good on him I reckon. Heaven knows the police can be pretty useless nowadays when it comes to tackling petty crime so why not....? That's how Batman started. No wait - Batman isn't real....:winkiss: Richard:tt2:
  21. Personally I like the 300zx full stop - SWB/LWB/J-spec/UK spec etc etc..... ......but since my daily driver is a strict 2 seater and I have a tendency to use my ZX for holidays, the LWB makes more sense for me as I doubt I'd fit 2 suitcases in a shorty!! Whereas now, the big one goes in the boot and the small one can squeeze in behind the driver's seat. Just!! Richard:biggrin:
  22. Good to have you back "properly" mate - thanks for re-subbing and enjoy that ZX!!! Richard:sailor:
  23. Happy birthday mate! Richard:cool3:
  24. Hope you had a great day Dave..... ......and my tip - probably too late now - is don't gamble on the horses!!! Richard:wink:
  25. Didn't see the first post myself either - but that is damn impressive!! Richard:cowboy:
