  1. Agreed - we visit Bath for the odd day trip 4 or 5 times a year so know it well.... Also the ghost tour is quite interesting; and for an elegant dining experience I can recommend the Pump Rooms (at the Roman Baths). Afternoon tea is good - but I prefer lunch or dinner; the latter is very atmospheric as they light up the baths for you to overlook whilst eating. On a fine day, take one of the boat trips along the Avon (you pick them up from the river bank down in front of Pultney Bridge) as that's a nice sedate way to appreciate the city. Or take the tour bus to Prior Park landscaped gardens which overlook the city - that and the Bath Skyline Tour.... .....have a snack at Sally Lunns; the home of the Bath Bun and the oldest building in the city... There's plenty to see in Bath so enjoy it mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  2. Nice one Gaz and everybody..... .....I can't wait to meet you all there!! I'm only going for the day though (Saturday) as I'm off to Cornwall for a week early on the Sunday morning - so I'll probably just buy a single day ticket, park in the main car park and waly to our stand....... ....LOL; and that's not what you were implying in an earlier thread Nicci - didn't you say something about going with your mate and there being lots of men around...?? Richard:laugh:
  3. LOL - and not just the plot mate; but also the people who think they can pull the wool over the collective eyes of mods and committee!!! Looks lovely mate; I wouldn't mind a drive around there either!! Richard:thumbup1:
  4. Heh heh - hell I'd have just said... "OK then, do you want my credit card number?" just to see what their reaction would have been..... ....then there would have been one of those "bad signal" moments and the call would have somehow been dropped....LOL Richard:laugh:
  5. Thanks for your continued support Jane - and yes hun; we agreed to make renewing cheaper as a big "thank you" to everyone for belonging to the club..... .......But didn't you step down as an REO? Perhaps because you're still listed as an REO we have to adjust your status manually?? Hell I'm not so good with IT matters so I'll kindly ask Lee if he can sort it for you!! Richard:biggrin:
  6. Many happy returns Ian - have a great day mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  7. I have not got the air freshener........ .....but I use Shell Helix Ultra 5w40 fully synth in my relatively stock TT auto; changed once a year in which I'll have covered no more than 5k miles. No track use, just regular road driving - although some of it might be a little faster than I should be doing!! Is it good? Well if the marketing gurus at Shell are not lying, it's the only oil recommended by Ferrari......:shifty: Richard:thumbup1:
  8. TonyB ~ permanent ban from the club commuted to 4 weeks from 27/8/12 following appeal. Following Hollowpoint's permanent ban, the committee was also disappointed that TonyB failed to intervene and cease Hollowpoint's offensive and potentially libelous comments from continuing. And at one point Tony appeared to condone such abusive behaviour by actually agreeing with some of what Hollowpoint said. Consequently the committee permanently banned TonyB for neglecting his responsibilities as chairman of .net, for doing nothing to prevent such atrocities; and for apparently supporting the actions of Hollowpoint. All of which set back inter-club relations so far, that any imminent reconciliation now appears out of the question for the forseeable future. TonyB appealed against his ban and, following great delibertation, the committee has agreed to rescind his permanent ban but concluded there must still be a consequence to TonyB's actions. Therefore TonyB's ban has been commuted to 4 weeks from 27/8/12; but his return to 300zx.co.uk will be subject to certain conditions and loss of some club privileges. Richard For the committee
  9. Last year mine was a little more than that with Lynbrooks - FJ came up with a cheaper quote the day after I renewed...LOL Hopefully I'll sort it a bit earlier this year and FJ will come up trumps for me too.... Richard:laugh:
  10. Bloody hell Graham - your area must be classed as safe mate; The Island's got to be an ultra low risk area, surely..... My ZX insurance comes up mid-November so let's see if the trend continues!! Richard:thumbup1:
  11. Yup - the Z badge Gaz.... I have removed all the Nissan decals from my car so the warden just assumed Zonda from the Zs on the wheels..... Daft thing is, Zonda isn't even a make!! It's the name of a car made by Pagani; LOL.... Richard:biggrin:
  12. What - on a Saturday...??? Never mind though, there'll be other JAEs when you have finished. Richard:thumbup1:
  13. I've met Craig a few times and agree he's a sound fella!! Nice work Craig mate.... Richard:thumbup1:
  14. Nice cars in my opinion - not pretty though, the latest shape Jag XK is much better looking - but I do like the 6-series. BMW has fixed the looks with the new shape ones...!! Go for it mate. Richard:thumbup1:
  15. Nice pics Scott - your Z is liiking fine mate!! I love a stock white 300zx..... .....and I wouldn't say no to that red Lotus Cortina Mk2 either... Thanks for sharing that with us!! Richard:thumbup1:
  16. Nice one Jane..... ....I'm a fan of Nickelback too - although I agree with Steamy; as I think some of their new material has gotten a bit too commercial. Chad has one of those great rock-band voices though!!! Enjoy the concert.... Richard:thumbup1:
  17. Many happy returns mate!! Richard:biggrin:
  18. Looks lovely Steve - I'm a big fan of the 99-spec rear spoiler.... Richard:thumbup1:
  19. Welcome back mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  20. I had a lucky escape today. I took the ZX into Aylesbury this morning (somewhere I avoid on Saturday as I work there during the week; LOL) and parked in Sainsburys car park whilst I did a bit of shopping. I completely forgot that you have to buy a ticket to park there (but you do get the money back if you spend over a tenner in store) and just went in to buy some groceries. At the checkout, the lady asked me for my parking ticket - and the penny dropped. I didn't have one!! As I walked back to the car, the warden was right behind it just about to punch my details into his maching. Apologising profusely, I explained that I had forgot I had to pay - but I had spent over a tenner as he could see by my bags. He said don't worry mate - as you have a nice car, I'll let you off!! He went on to say that he'd always liked Zondas and that if I could afford one, then a £60 ticket would not have been so bad..... .....he couldn't believe it when I told him it was an 18 year old Nissan!! Richard:biggrin:
  21. I don't know if it's just me, but have car insurance costs dropped recently? Last year, after years of reasonably low prices, I struggled to get my SLK insured for under £500 and Julia's Rav for under £300; despite having no fault claims or convictions etc. ... .....Our renewals have actually come in at quite reasonable rates compared to last year. But after going onto confused.com I have got them down to £342 for the SLK (inc. protected NCB, guaranteed like for like courtesy car, key cover, uninsured driver protection and legal cover) with Sainsburys Premier cover - and £216 for the Rav with Admiral; again including protected NCB, courtesy car (which could be a Daewoo mind:biggrin:) and legal cover!! Not bad when I paid £499 and £295 last year!! I'm happy with that result - in fact Swiftcover would insure the SLK for £305 but legal and courtesy car were extra.... Richard:clap:
  22. Not for sure Baz, but I have my suspicions. No names mentioned though matey.....:pint:
  23. And not one that's been cooked in a dodgy East End curry house either Baz.....* Richard:shifty: *another story from my youger days....
  24. RIP sir....!! ....he's back amongst the stars I hope. Richard:sad:
