Saw my godfather in the main national news this morning.
I had a feeling you might have mentioned your godfather before - but it was still a guess...

What Tools do you carry in your zed?
Heh heh - I have a picnic blanket in my Z too..... Aside from the standard bits (well, the jack basically) and an extending handled wheel-brace, I just carry some detailing spray and a couple of micro-fibre cloths! I used to carry a litre of oil too; but as I've never had to top the Z up since the day I collected it, I don't remember if it's still there... Richard:cool:

Viscous and idle
^^^What he said mate...... ......And a brand new viscous unit is actually quite expensive if you try to get one now!!! As for going electric, I have heard mixed opinions too - with these cars you do not want to compromise on cooling; so IMO a good, working, viscous unit will shift more air to keep thinks cool than an electric one. I'm no expert though - but if you do update to an electric unit, be sure to get one which can shift at least as much air! IIRC Mike at MJP can supply a suitable unit..... Richard:cool:

Rim protectors
Very similar to "Alloy-gators" mate.... http://www.alloygator.co.uk/ And I always thought they weren't worth the money - as I'd surely be careful enough not to scratch my rims..... Until reverse parking one day and not noticing that fallen kerb stone about 2 inches proud of the rest of the edge of the road... Result - 2 nice big chunks out of my AMG rims; wish I'd bought them now...... Richard:clover:

Bentley Gt 6.0 liter twin turbo 4 wheel drive CUSTOM
Not my cup of tea either - although I actually do like the standard car "out of the box. " However sadly they are still a bit too Cheshire or premiership footballer for me to add to the want list......

New to the 300zx saying hi.
Welcome to the club Paul - and good luck with your new toy!! Sounds interesting..... My wife has a 2006 XTR 3-door (last of the Mk3 shape) and, whilst I quite enjoy driving it, I do feel it needs more power:shifty: I was thinking of contacting Fensport and enquiring about a GT4 engine conversion - but since I already drive 2 V6 powered cars, I like the sound of that... Not necessarily mate; Meister R (a trader on here) does a great coilover set-up for the 300zx. Nice and taut bit not too harsh; fully adjustable - and a bargain compared to some lesser set-ups out there!! Richard:cool:

Another one for the collection

Sunday afternoon blasts and more boring pics
Looking good Bri..... I felt the same way myself, this morning..... Enough of the 1 month SORN, I thought, so I taxed the ZX; filled it with petrol and ended up doing a little 100 mile blast around the Chilterns!!! Boy had I missed the Z in January - it was like I only drove it yesterday too. Everything felt and sounded like it should!! Richard:thumbup:

What did you do to your zed today?
Never mind Lee - onwards and upwards mate.... Good luck with your next project... Nice one mate - Murt's old car has itself another owner in very quick succession.... Hopefully a keeper this time though; eh?.....:flowers: Me? Well one month of being SORNd was enough.... So I taxed it this morning, then took a little trip to the petrol station. However what with it being a nice sunny day, I realised just how much I had missed driving the ZX in the last few weeks - so I carried on driving for a bit longer..... And by the time I got home, I had covered over 100 miles!!! Gotta love the ZX.... Richard:thumbup:

Cheap Bosch Wiper Blades
Hi Vig, They're not that bad mate - and if you have the UK spec wind deflector, it hides the drivers' side one anyway.... I have a couple of pics here; but they are not real close-ups, although you get the idea. And as you also say, the £7 ones Ian has posted up are worth a punt at £7!! I think I'll order a set myself... Richard:cool:

Happy Birthday securicar

Cheap Bosch Wiper Blades
I have heard that Valeo are meant to give the best results too - but Bosch 'blades are good also. Better than the cheapo brands, that's for sure!! The retro-fit flat blades are the way to go for best performance though (Valeo or Bosch); but as Si says, the big knuckle you get on all after-market retro-fit flat blades is not the best looking.... Richard:cool:

this is what i will be doing as a project over the next few week
Very nice Dan - can't wait to see the results....
