So Many Great Members Gone
Some of the old crowd do occasionally pop back to say hello one a year.... ....But a few guys and gals have also sold their Zeds now so, whilst many people still hang around for a bit afterwards, sometimes without the car as a common interest others do eventually fade away. On the up side, following an excellent initiative from Jaikai, we have had a few former members return to the fold of late!! Richard:cool:

Haynes Breakfast Club meeting - Sunday April 12th
I'd prefer that to be honest Si... This weekend was always going to be tight - as I am collecting my bits from MJP Saturday and (hopefully) dropping it all at the body-shop afterwards. May would be better; especially one of the bank holiday weekends, as I'd prefer to make the trip to Sparkford and back on a Sunday when I don't have work on the Monday!!

Daytime Running Lights for the Z32? Yes Or No?
So do I, most of the time..... .....But if you are going to do it, then just find a way to incorporate them into the existing light fittings - something like Joel has done for instance. That looks a great modification. Otherwise fit LED sidelight bulbs and do what Guinnal suggests above; by driving with your lights on! Richard:cool:

Hit and run on my daily drivers wing mirror.....
Me too! But unless the perp already has their prints on file, I doubt there'll be much more action...... I hate to see things like this; and hope the b@stard is caught Russ.... Richard:clover:

Low life scum
Indeed - but as you say Chris, who are these opportunists that will walk right up someone's driveway to check whether a car door is unlocked? Fortunately nothing was stolen and your car wasn't damaged by being broken into....

UK Nissan 300zx
Ditto - Cheers Joel...... It does look like a good car indeed - and, as you and Joel have mentioned, perhaps it is now being offered for a price more reflective of where the 300zx market should be. I would also add, though, that I'd only find the increased price the trader is hoping to achieve as hard to take if I had been unfortunate enough to have missed buying it from the original (private?) seller. In the trader's defence, it is his business to make money on each car he sells - and we also know that it might not be a "fast" £3,500 profit. He could have it sat on his forecourt for a couple of months; and I'd have thought is acceptable for a car dealer to expect £2000-£3000 profit, on average, per car sold.... Richard:cool:

UK Nissan 300zx
Very true..... .....And traders have the advantage of getting out to see a car immediately; whereas most of have to wait until the weekend. However it is another positive sign of a growing interest in these cars - but a PITA for anyone looking to buy one. Richard:clover:

Yes, yes and yes..... It's always good to see such examples out there. I really hope that's as good as it looks; and that the new owner looks after it...:clover: Agreed - it would not look so appropriate on any other marque...

A business question...
I'd view that as a minor set-back at worst; and possibly a blessing in disguise at best. Whilst I can (to a point) understand the guy's initial reaction, the fact is, quality work speaks for itself - he only has to see a sample of your work to know that you are no "amateur." Whether working on a Bentley or a Mini, you have your standards and professionalism to uphold. And every business has to start somewhere - some of the best in their respective businesses are still working from home like you; because their lack of overheads means they can provide their customers with VFM and great service, whilst still doing a top class job. I know where I'd prefer to spend my cash! So don't let this one knock your confidence - let him go. He'll spend £££s more in a fancy premises but, no doubt will not get such a top job done on his car. And then think about your own business - you've already said you don't make the huge margins; so, pride aside, how much would you have gained for this job vs your time commitment to it, compared to other impending work? These people proliferate over the course of one's life - shrug it off matey; the world is full of arses... Richard:cool:
