What is the point of an NA Auto?
Well said Mike...... And I agree with the above too....... Sure I don't live in London - and my Zed is a TT - but I really like the auto! I am every bit the petrol head I always have been; and despite getting older (etc...) still like to "drive" a car. A manual 'box is great, but with today's traffic conditions, the proliferation of speed humps, pinch points and other "calming" measures, the manual 'box is just another inconvenience! My Zed is not a daily drive, but I do use it quite a bit for holidays etc - where you never know if the motorway will be free of roadworks, tailbacks and the like; so the auto makes better sense to me. And being a TT, it still has the pace to overtake (almost) everyone on the country lanes and A-roads of a Sunday afternoon... My daily drive is an auto - and so is the Freelander 2 I have just bought for Julia. Sure, I'd always prefer a manual on the track - but for "normal" use, I'm not going back to the "analogue" ways. That's another reason I chose to stick with my Zed and the way it is! Richard:cool:

Friday Night YouTube
Time to revive this thread....... With a couple of songs I was listening to on the way home from work this evening. Sun shining, roof down, Ray-Bans on, roads reasonably empty - just me in the car heading home for the weekend.....:punk:

Farewell to Mandy (Roobarb)
Thank you Ian - and for the fitting tribute by taking Zebedee to give Mandy a great send-off on behalf of the club. It's a shame that distance (not to mention work) got in the way of me attending myself; as I'd liked to have paid my own respects, both from me and the rest of the committee, in person. So one final "RIP Mandy" you will be missed, but your spirit will remain with us all. Richard

How much do..
Always tricky to value 2nd hand parts - especially if you are unsure of their exact age / usage etc.... ...Still, for what it's worth, they will be of value to someone looking for a set of 300zx coilovers, but does not want to shell out the thick end of £700 for Meister Rs etc... So if it was me buying, I'd be looking to pay around £200-£300 plus (possibly) a little for delivery. Hope that helps and GLWS, Richard:clover:

Budget Question...sorry
LOL - I know mate; and I'm with you there.... We all have our own opinions politically and we'll go away and believe what argument(s) we chose; and exercise that democratic right. Hopefully!! Richard:thumbup:

BBC Not Renewing Clarkson's contract
Maybe Andrew, maybe. But my thoughts are a re-hash of the following words..... ....wagon jump band the on...... Just because the Beeb has made its decision, it does not automatically mean that JC "did it" Innocent until proven guilty and all that - and if the "victim" does not come forward, where is the evidence; and just what, in the absence of that thing called evidence (eg, testimony from, say, a victim), does the CPS actually have to go on? I'm not condoning violence - or suggesting for a second that JC should be allowed to punch anyone at will; just as I would not expect to get away with it myself. But if you or I were to punch someone in a fit of rage in a pub car-park or the like; if the victim was happy to walk away and not press charges that would be the end of it. Matter closed. No pointless waste of (even more) public money.....

Budget Question...sorry
Re emboldened comments.... 1 - Really? Not that I've "Google-searched" it, so I'll take your word on it; but that is certainly factually incorrect and what "evidence" there is appearing on such Google searches is most likely anti-austerity propaganda. From what I have seen in the last 2-3 years myself is certainly positive.... 2- Everyone you know, granted; but do you really know the millions of people in your area/parliamentary constituency and their thoughts? I hear the same thing here in The Chilterns - yet even with HS2 looming above us, Buckinghamshire still remains a Tory heartland. I suspect the same is more likely the case where you are as well.... 3 - 100% Dead right.... Always vote; it's your democratic right. Not only do you lose the right to complain about things if you did not exercise your right - but in order to preserve democracy, it's essential that we all do our bit on the day. If the party we want does not get in, then at least we all get another chance in (no more than) 5 years to have our say again....

BBC Not Renewing Clarkson's contract
LOL - as you say Gaz - not all bad news....!! JC's fate was, in all honesty, inevitable. There is most likely more to this than we'll ever know; the Beeb had (or at least be seen) to take action - and JC's contract was up at the end of the month anyway. Some say JC might have other plans for the future - all we know is that whilst their action seems appropriate to the real world, if someone really did thump a colleague, the BBC still stumbled to take such similar action with Jonathan Ross re the issue with Andrew Sachs' granddaughter. JC might be too right wing for the old Beeb, but the lesson is, don't feed a monster and then cry when it eventually bites you.... What riled me, was the news that North Yorks Police has requested the BBC's evidence surrounding the matter - like they might decide to pursue charges against JC. Sorry, but at this moment, according to all reports, there has been NO complaint from the alleged victim. I always thought that in such an incident, a "victim" had to first report it to the police - and then decide to press charges before a police investigation took place??? I guess there's not much crime in North Yorks, so PC Piglet is at risk of getting bored - and needs something to do or else he'll be out persecuting motorists..... Which would be a crime, since (off topic - and all credit to N Yorks Police here) I have found that county to be the best place in England for driving standards.....

What did you do to your zed today?
Really....? You like the idea of a fan pattern as opposed to the jet formation??? Hell, my old SLK had the dual jet formation, yet on the new one, MB has succumbed to the trend of spraying a fan across the 'screen... And I have to say it's bloody dangerous IMO!!! Granted, it might help to disperse water all over the 'screen; however, the "fan" spray has the negative effect of completely covering the windscreen before the first wipe, rendering me to drive blind for at least a second..... Not much, I know; but at (say) 90mph that's over 117 feet travelled. Blind. At least with the old jet, I could still see around the water splash!!
