  1. Many happy returns Bruce...... .....Or is that Stewart...:wink: Richard:happybday:
  2. I'd prefer not to fit it, if it were my car......
  3. One half is bull and the other half is....well, I think you know the answer now..... Welcome to the club, by the way; Alex...
  4. Many happy returns Richie - hope you had a great day mate! Richard:happybday:
  5. Yup - classic symptom of sender unit failure so your oil pressure is probably fine mate...
  6. I guess we can't be too careful with an old car........ Although (he says, touching all items made of wood and crossing all fingers and toes) I still do not - and have not had the cause to so far either....:clover:
  7. Yup - sender unit failing is a common issue. If the engine sounds OK at idle, when up to full temperature, with no rattles - then generally you can assume all is well. Replace the sender unit (it's in the region of £100 for the OEM item) or fit an aftermarket gauge, if you want peace of mind!
  8. Renewed my insurance (from the 21st).... ....£230 this year. Not the cheapest quote - but I got them to add commuting (just in case I decide to drive it to work occasionally:biggrin: ); and as part of a multi-car deal, they covered the SLK for £320 and Julia's Landy for £300. All in all, not a bad deal I'd say...
  9. Hi and welcome to the club my friend! Good luck with your new purchase - we're always here to offer advice on all things 300zx related..... And many other things besides! Richard:thumbup:
  10. Ahh - so nothing to lose then mate:wink:
  11. LOL - it's your birthday mate.... So do both!! Drink some more - then fall asleep:wink:
  12. No worries mate! I don't recall seeing the GT40 myself either - but I have seen the XJ220 more than once...
  13. That's not a bad job actually Lee..... .....But I echo the thoughts above mate. I had a couple of small bubbles on the same arch - I had my body-shop fix it, but before the year was out, the bubbles returned. In the end I bought the replacement arch from MPJ; had the rotten section cut out and the new one welded in. It's the only long term fix....!! Richard:thumbup:
  14. Exactly what Gaz said..... ......Congratulations Vig; I wish you both all the very best for the future!! Richard:clover:
  15. Many happy returns David! Hope you had a great day!! Richard:happybday:
  16. Many happy returns mate! Hope you had a great day!! Richard:happybday:
  17. Agreed - but they do have a GT40 and an XJ220 mate...... They rotate the collection from time to time:wink:
  18. Yes and yes..... ......Get on the 'phone to Mike at MJP! After all the work you have done Lee, don't take chances with an inferior oil filter. OEM all the way mate - the only credible alternative (supposedly) is the Wix item!
  19. I agree - I prefer the OEM '89 spec...... Although that Momo Millennium does look good....
  20. RIP Lord Montague....
  21. LOL - I think it was ages ago mate!! I dismantled my old one and kept the glass with the intention of doing just that..... But since the new targa fits perfectly and does not leak, I've left it well alone....!!
  22. I'm not sure what it does - but if you need a replacement in a hurry, get down to Halfords and buy a length of the same diameter hose and cut it to size.
  23. Saturday, I fitted a new air filter and gave it another coat of "Beading Marvellous" wax before the rain set in.... .....Yesterday nothing; and so far today nothing. Although as the weather is crap, I might just dismantle the new driver's side targa I bought from Baz (last year!!!) and replace the glass panel - it still has the number plate of the donor car etched into it. I've been meaning to do it for some time...
  24. RIP Wes......:sad::flowers:
  25. That's an amazing transformation Lee - nice work matey..... Me too....... Matches the watch I have just bought....:wink:
