The old AC unit has been sitting, almost redundant, in the cupboard under the stairs for most of the (many) years since I bought it.... .....However, it's only June and the ambient temp is pushing 30 degrees, so I decided to dust the old box down and lug the damn thing upstairs. Good call, methinks... I might actually sleep tonight!!!

.......One for anyone born in the 1970s here; but Brian Cant, presenter on Playschool and Playaway, has passed away aged 83. I and many others in my age group would have spent their early years watching him on TV...... RIP sir....:sad:

My tuppence worth.... I think it's a shame that we need, and often rely on, CCTV in today's society:sad: However it certainly can prove invaluable, should the need arise. Hence I'd say it's better than any alarm system etc. - to the point that I'd also consider a sign to say that CCTV is in use. Just as a further deterrent, to reduce the likelihood of anything untoward happening in the first place.

He's certainly used one or two of his "9 lives" in the last few years....! Glad to see Mr Hammond is OK though; "only" escaping with a fractured knee.... I'm reading his book at the moment, seems he's always had that dare-devil streak!!!

Sounds like a good plan Steve..... We were thinking of driving down early Saturday evening and staying somewhere locally, as opposed to an early morning start on Sunday!

Why not Steve....? This month's Mercedes Enthusiast magazine billed the W210 (1997-2002) as possibly the best value AMG...:cool: I personally prefer the next shape from 2003 onwards; not sure which one you are hankering over, but any V8 AMG still pretty damned good...:thumbup:
