  4. Happy birthday Jason, hope you have a great day mate!! Richard & Julia🎂
  5. Hi and welcome to the club....! Good luck with your new purchase - and as said above, share the pics when you get it. And if there's anything you need help with, there's a huge source of knowledge here 😉
  6. A belated happy birthday Alex - hope you had a good one mate!
  7. We took the Zed on its first road trip of 2025 last weekend. It was Julia's birthday so we went to Dunster in north Somerset for a couple of days, briefly venturing over the border into north Devon...... Not that I need an excuse for posting more Zed pics - albeit this time, it's a little dirty. Never mind, I shall be out washing it next weekend LOL 😉
  8. Best bet is to give Jimmer at Powerzed a call..... Jim will have a recommended welder - and can assist with any other parts that may be required. Plus he'll be on hand to advise with any specialist advice pertaining to these cars. I know he's 100 miles from London, but there's a good reason most of us trust Jim with our Zeds, no matter where we are 😉
  9. I dropped my Zed off at the local garage for an MOT, plus the annual oil and filter change..... Then I got the call after half an hour to say it would fail as the rear brake pads had worn down, almost to the metal - damn, I should have checked that 😞 But luckily I had a spare set of Mintex pads in my garage, so I wandered down to drop them off. Luckily I got home before the hail storm hit LOL!! I am now pleased to report my Zed is ready for 2025 - with a fresh MOT, a sump full of nice golden Castrol Edge 5w40 and some new rear brake pads 🙂
  10. Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

  12. Happy belated birthday Gary - hope you had a good one mate!

  15. Simply Japanese is being held on SUNDAY 20th July at Beaulieu - details here.... https://www.beaulieu.co.uk/events/simply-japanese/ We have a club stand booked - currently for 10 cars - but can alter that up to two weeks before the show by contacting the organisers. We will be meeting in the Tesco car park in Applemore at 07:30 and then driving to the show together. The meet at the Tesco car park is a fun little pre-meet with the Zed club, toyota club and others meeting there too. A few rules: Tesco have never stopped us from using their car park or complained, as it is a great meeting point with petrol on tap we don't want to lose it, so please, no donuts, burnouts, etc. The New Forest has wild animals, ponies, horses, deer, rabbits, honey badgers... please follow all speed limits and refrain from being silly Inside Beaulieu, once parked up, please leave engines off. They have neighbours and need to keep the noise to a minimum. This is one of the year's best events - as it has something for everyone. Beaulieu is a fantastic location, not only will there be loads of Japanese cars on show, but there's also the motor museum, the house, the formal gardens, a monorail and a falconry display. Perfect for bringing your family...! Look forward to seeing you there 🙂
  16. Just to add, it's £10 per car, which includes driver and one passenger - and whilst you can turn up on the day you won't be given access to the club stand...... Not our rules, it's because the organisers allocate club stand space based on the number of pre-booked tickets 😉 This is quite local to me, so I'm happy to meet anyone attending in Aylesbury Sainsbury's car park and drive in together!
  17. We have a stand booked at the Chiltern Hills Show on Sunday the 18th May 2025. Show information: Chiltern Hills Rally 2025 | Chiltern Hills Rally | MatterPay You can book tickets via that link. Make sure you select the club stand so that the organisers can count up the attendee numbers and allocate us a big enough plot. The location is just north of Aylesbury on the A413 towards Buckingham: https://what3words.com/contents.dispensed.roadmap I have attended this event the last two years, and it's always been good....! Looking forward to seeing you there!
  18. Could be damp getting into the fuse box, in the driver's side footwell. Moisture gets in due to loose targa drain pipes, which causes electrical gremlins in that fuse/relay box.
  19. In short, yes, the clarion amp is preventing the rear speakers working. I had the same issue - it's because the after-market adaptors from Nissan to ISO do not provide for a power supply to the amp. You can either re-wire your old speakers or, as I did, bridge the after-market adaptor leads to deliver a live feed to the amp connection. It's easy to trace the amp's power feed from your loom - then you just pick one of the live feeds from the new head unit cables and connect it to the amp feed wire in the car. Worked for me - I kept the Clarion amp in place and it works fine 😉
  20. Same status as aftermarket HIDs.... 😉 But with the Zed having projector beams, it will come down to the tester spotting you have aftermarket bulbs installed.
  21. I know mate - I guess it was the tech available at the time.... 😞 I'm happy with the HIDs and have never had any issues at MOT time - I hide the ballasts under the nose panel 😉 However, I saw the genuine Osram H3 LED bulbs for £35 and thought I'd give them a try, just to compare with the HIDs and report back here..... They look nice quality - way better the Chinese stuff on Ebay - which are fine in my DRLs, but probably not up to the job for head lights!
  22. I regretfully announce that our club's Event's Organiser, Tom (AKA TheRealNips), is stepping down from the role with immediate effect due to personal circumstances. Tom has done a great job over the last two years, organising various events and club meets, and he will be sorely missed in this role. So on behalf of the club, I invite you all to thank Tom for all his hard work and efforts. Especially the key ones which, for me at least, are the club's AGM, Beaulieu and of course the NEC Show in November. Thank you Tom, it's been a pleasure working with you and attending some of the events along side you!! It does also mean that we are on the hunt for a new Events Organiser...... If anyone fancies taking on this role, please let me know - either by reply to this thread or via PM/e-mail. Richard
  23. That sounds familiar Lee.... I would have seen it when I removed the trim, to replace the boot/fuel flap release cable.
  24. I'd say you don't have the Bose set-up; and it looks like someone has already fitted after-market speakers in there. It's quite common, as the original 6x4 speakers will be past their best after 30 years - although they probably weren't that great in the first place! Lee has posted a pic of the Clarion amp above - and an insight as to its location. I can't remember where it it in my Zed, I don't recall seeing it inside the speaker enclosures, I thought it was behind one of the rear boot panels, next to the suspension turrets. But I could be wrong 😉
