Mk2 MX5 was (and still is) the best version IMO - and nice work on installing a V8 into it...

Number plate bracket query
Of course - I too had forgotten you had a replacement bumper too....!! But definitely prefer the UK-positioned plate too

Number plate bracket query
I've never had cooling issues with the UK-positioned number plate - and don't forget the UK-spec was the same as other EU countries too... So thought would have been given to driving the Zed on the German autobahns

Vibration
I'd look at that too.... When I fitted my previous set of aftermarket alloys, the "expert" in a well known tyre retailer said no need to bother with the spigot rings... He claimed the bolts would be sufficient to hold the wheels in place. WRONG!!! The car vibrated like hell at 60mph and over - just like the feeling of out of balance wheels. I took the wheels off, fitted the spigot rings and hey-presto, smooth ride once more:wink:

Number plate bracket query
Yup - I seem to remember Gio had the UK spec plinth fitted to his silver J-spec Zed...

What did you do to your zed today?
As for me, I bought a new set of number plates to fit.... …..After a few years having EU plates, my OCD got the better of me - my reg is only 5 digits, and never looked quite right, as they don't sit "dead centre" on the plate because of the EU flag. I have therefore gone back to plain and simple, no border, no flag; just the characters and a little slogan promoting the club as a footer. Oh, and I ordered a slightly larger rear plate - just to fill the aperture a little better!! Photos to follow, once I have screwed them on:cool:

Lakes Weekend 2019 @ Fat Lamb 23rd to 26th August
We are indeed..... ….Although sadly I might have to drop out. Julia is now unsure if she can get the Saturday off work - and in all honesty, if she can't, I really don't want to be heading up so far, so late, on a Saturday afternoon, in August bank holiday weekend traffic.

What did you do to your zed today?
I have the Mishimoto - and am pretty pleased with it.... …..Great idea on swapping the brackets Andrew - I got fed up with the OEM items and bought the "Z" plate from Luke...!! Should have tried this first...:lol:

Black or Body coloured bumper trim?
…..Having said that, I had mine painted in satin black - I quite like how it goes with the blue (and Stillen lip)…..

Black or Body coloured bumper trim?
Moustache all the way....!! As said above, OEM moustache is a dark grey; and like Si says, that Toyota colour is pretty damn close to the OEM shade. I'd do that with your silver Zed mate:thumbup:

What did you do to your zed today?
Today, I changed the fuel filter - along with the hoses either side of it... Oh, and the return hose. I bought the full replacement 8-hose kit from Z1; plus the later style spring-clips, so no need to keep re-tightening come winter time. Granted, I'll have to replace the others at some point before then, but some do look a little hard to reach:lol: And top tip from JeffTT - leaving the Zed unused for a day or two certainly does the trick. No fuel pressure in the system, means no issues with fuel leakage, when removing the old bits!!
