  1. Lurvely job there fellas :thumbup1: Can't wait to see it with the new wheels on, it's crying out for 99 spec rear lights though..... Smithy
  2. The Mongoose and Blueflame exhausts were made to be simply stainless steel replacements of the stock system. Similar narrow twin tails on the end and not built for performance. The TT's should be fairly quiet until opened up and then reasonably louder, whereas the N/A's are louder than the TT's. Off all the systems available, these are pretty much the quietest. Oh and no reason to effect emissions, if a zed is already struggling with this, theres something wrong else where, assuming your particular model requires emissions testing that is. Smithy
  3. Well done you guys :flowers: Me thinks by the time Zedworld has been passed down the family tree ole Oliver will be fixing 20 year old 370Z's  Maybe Papa Z should buy one now ready to practice on lol Again well done to all. Smithy
  4. Yep Gonzo is right, by fitting an overdrive pulley it then spins the water pump at the correct speed to fan as designed. Also as Jap and UK water pump pullies differ in size, might explain it too. Oh and yes it doesn't always effect everyone and tbh there will be a few that don't even notice when it does happen! Anyways though yer engine or tubs was goosed, fitted another one already? smithy
  5. 2 weeks, yikes feel for yer mate.. where you get it? was it a cheapo? smithy
  6. He's correct, whilst EVO's run a 295mm disc it is not on the brakes equipped with Brembo's, they are 320mm. There are certain non Brembo brake kits that also use the 320mm disc but the 295 size was for general use on Non Brembo brake kits, so a difefrent caliper altogether. smithy
  7. TBH and IMO the advert was naff and sorry but over priced too. You couldn't say how old the rest of kit was, you didn't mention the steel brackets and fixing kit and new lines that come with a new kit, nor did you picture them if they included. You also didn't mention anything about pads and with discs and calipers being quite some weight, around an extra 40 quid for insured postage perhaps on top of your hopeful 600 odd quid! As these are budget kits and retail around the high end of 700 quid complete, some have been purchased in the past years cheaper, with special offers, group buys etc. For me a more realistic price would have £575 delivered or nearest offer, if yer get 525-ish a bonus. They really should be offered around 55% of new price as they are second hand with little known history and no warranty. Your not alone though, many ads there have crap or no pictures, poor description, no attempt to really "sell" the item to someone and sometimes crazy arsed prices. Good luck though which ever you go with this and sorry if the above isn't what you'd like. Smithy
  8. Yep, but it has to be a special type that sticks well to shiny sufaces, i imported mine from Alsa in the US, added a couple of drops of Gold pearl as well. Done me Plenum about 5 years ago, looks exactly the same now! Smithy
  9. In my case it was a mashed piston and ring, dripped out as i drove up the road, well until the cops stopped me that is lol smithy
  10. You can do the CAS too Smithy
  11. In fairness though if you bought a second hand engine with turbo's etc and only just fitted it and now it's gone tits up, something was on it's way out already, albeit a turbo or piston/ring Smithy
  12. SRB power mate smithy
  13. The Greddy's are some pretty weighty big turbo's and whilst stainless was the popular choice for manifolds, the heating up and cooling down causes stresses on it, the weight of the tubs is always pulling downwards on them too. There quite a lot of welds on tubular manifolds so it's quite common for 1 or more to split. By inserting braces points under the tubes where they bend, strengthens them greatly. It was such a big problem on Zeds in general with stainless manifolds that is why Greg Dupreee developed the Inconnel ones some years ago, but cost around 1K Now yes you could take them to any metal shop have them welded again, however for me i would most definately send them to a guy who builds stainless manifolds all day, develops and designs them, understands the importance of bracing certain ones and better still, knows the configuration of the zeds turbo's. Leon has worked on shit loads of Zeds, he was the guy who I had build all my N/A manifolds when i used to sell them cos he is rated very highly in his field. Of course your money, your choice mate. Smithy
  14. If you need any help in knowing how to not include enormous pictures unnecessarily when quoting a post, let me know and i'll show you. Just saves us having to look at the reloaded same pictures repeatedly in the 1 thread and also saves my tired finger scrolling the mouse wheel all the way to the bottom to read a couple of lines or in your case 1 line cos the view had to go so wide! :2guns: smithy
  15. Yikes not good mate, sadly the Stainless manifolds for these are well known to crack. Later newer versions had support braces welded on them and older versions some peeps made support braces for the manifolds themselves. Being Stainless means you should be able to repair it, do you know exactly what part is cracked? one of the outlets came away from the manifold flange perhaps? Doubt you'll find a spare anyways, if it was me get on the blower to Alunox and fire it down to him. He's the dogs danglies on stainless and in particular manifolds, plus there is a very slim chance he has made a copy of the greddy manifold already. Smithy
  16. and if it's the manifold gasket, i've a brand new OEM one left in my garage £7.50 delivered  Gotta be done lol smithy
  17. Ok fella, reason i asked was ours flows 255lph which is bloody powerful in flow terms and is often used as upgrade by others. I know kirbz was gonna run a 2nd one of these to the existing in order to support 100bhp, yikes! Good luck anyways mate, seems an awesome spec smithy
  18. I knew they were dummy's mate, more the reason for asking. With sooo many filters using funnels simply use a small silicone joiner from filter funnel to your pipework or if you really want for some reason a vehicle specific filter, ebay has shed loads of adapater plates, or least it used in my day when we were making them lol smithy
  19. Yep and 9 times outta 10 it should be no.6 piston too. Good luck mate smithy
  20. Been driving a VW Passatt estate for quite some time now, love it to bits and pretty quick too! Smithy
  21. Man very jealous of those turbo's, when i had previously thought of going even bigger those were the puppies i wanted dohh Do you know what flow rate your new fuel pump is mate or are you running it in conjunction with the existing? Whilst i know an old member from here gott ripped off big time at Thor, it was a massive project that was expected to take considerable time and money along with custom manufacturing by them, am not saying that to lessen in anyway what happend to him, it is however miles different to what they do every day and to many many cars, mapping. You arrive, wait around if need be and drive out, ( assuming base map is done) I personally however favour Richard at Rising sun performance one of not many who traveled to the US when AEM became popular to see how it's done, again he also seems to know his stuff. Gonzo, with a MAP sensor on your AEM, why you bothering with any MAF's at all? Smithy
  22. Deffo you've just told the world wide web your full name, address with postcode so not not only they know that info, but you've also said where you stashed your stuff! yikes... smithy
  23. Q45 Mafs are an upgrade for our cars if yer running 500bhp+ as they are 10mm bigger. Q45 throttle bodies at 90mm ish wouldn't even bolt on to the plenum, ours are around 54mm internal and the plenum has around 65mm of metal surface, so theres problem no.1. Everything else has to line up, linkages and the like and even if fitted, again for those running higher bhp and quite a bit to see any benefit. Apart from Z1 throttle bodies, i've only ever heard of the stanza that fit, even then they require much work to fit and around 10mm bigger than ours. Smithy
  24. Yep a million times, in short the auto turbo's have a lower A/R to spool slightly quicker. The cams are marginly different for quicker power delivery. The end result was to make the manual and auto 0-60 time as close as possible. BHP is virtually identicle. smithy
  25. Erm nowt to do with me lol think you mean Danny as i've never sold em. However i first bought ebay ones many years ago and lasted around 6 months, couldn't get owt from the guy on ebay. Bought Danny's more expensive ones and lasted right up till and after the point i sold them cos i went really stupid and bought OEM 99 spec front lights :whistling: smithy
