WOW Buying from US Saves loads.
well you done very well there indeed mate, however it is somewhat unusual as charges are a seperate transaction payable to the delivery company, so you should have some paperwork with that on. It looks to me like you have somehow got through the system as had you paid the fees for value of the goods, without handling fees it is around £75 alone. Bargains can be had from importing from the US but bear in mind IF doing it all legit so yer covered in everyway, (insurance/fees) the savings drop dramatically! again well done :) smithy

Smithy's Silicone Vaccuum lines
Hmm was kinda hoping for a TT motor, but no worries bud :) Jim thanks for the offer bud, would ideally like a TT person on this as it would also cover the N/A's hoses I am also looking for people to do the same with my fuel line kit, slam panels and headlight covers, Replacement IAA valve feed pipe and the full 4 piece brake/clutch silicone, so anyone interested in taking pics and writing a few words when fitting these, feel free to PM me. Please note though I can't warrant freebies on all these goods, but they will be dicounted a fair bit :) cheers smithy

Front mounted or Side mounts?
Ditto, there must be a few guys here with these as there was a GB last year on them after the Thor dyno day showed most cars were running high intake temps. Greddys are good though with all fittings included :) smithy

Smithy's Silicone Vaccuum lines
It really is a simple case of locating each vac/breather hose individually, pulling it off and cutting a new piece to suit and slip on again mate. However I am looking for people who don't have certain products of mine to do write ups with pics to post on my website, am happy to give a set of either blue or red vac lines FREE to anyone who fancies doing this task. It would help if you know the general tech names of parts in the engine bay as well. 1st person to post here will get the lines sent out monday :) cheers smithy

Check yer drains!
Well I decided this year was bodywork time and a couple areas i knew were bad was the dreaded rear arch and a small section of the rear sill. Thanks to Mike at MJP I already had a replacement arch and rear sill section for 1 side so looks like i now need the other. Today I helped the bodyshop strip of the wings west skirts and jack the car up to see how bad things were and fook me, it was bad :( not only has the rear sill section gone, so has the inner and floor section and suspension mounting around it! Thing is curled up out of the way in each side is the drain tube which i think either comes from the back of the targas or the rear hatch and for years these have been tucked up inside the inner sill area, making things so much worse  The end result was the bodyshop said i'll do the arch and thats it and another 2 bodyshops the same, so in the end i found a shop that builds rally cars and were happy to take on the job! Point being fellas, if your running add on skirts, check for the drain tube that should be popping out from either below or behind the rear inner sill area and make sure it's still there, my skirts have been on for around 5 years and am now looking at a hefty wedge of ££ to save her................ smithy

All Read. I have an Opinion
Have to agree with ChrisC here fella. With the exception of only a few front bumpers pretty much all the rest of bodykits are F/G and many even with F/G fronts last for years. This is NOT just Zed kits either! Something ain't right with the parts you've been supplied or the fitting off :( Your best speaking with both parties concerned. Really feel for yer having spent so much time and cash on your project but feel your best looking in other areas to proportion the blame for your woes mate, always easy to blame the product, which ain't always the case, soz smithy

best brakes with std wheels
TBH mate i really do rate the DBA's, I did the research on these through the various skyline forums (worldwide) to find they are very highly rated, in my traders section is the various types and prices. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=56405&referrerid=119 Whilst the slotted are an excellant disc and well upto the job, personally I favour the 4000 series, cost a fair bit more but for anyone who abuses discs, they really are good ;) Pad wise, well simply search "porterfield" and you'll see a great responce from Zedders, plus i've sold many to s14 and skyline peeps who were all happy. A more expensive pad is the ferrodo ds2500 which from my experience of using them and porterfields, don't warrant the extra ££ that they cost and especially when kicking of so much dust  hth cheers smithy

Better Brakes
Cheers bud.. Am running a 10% of ALL ranges of the porterfields at the mo as well ;) cheers smithy

best brakes with std wheels
Yep aftermarket kits for the GTR33/34 also fit the Zed. Though be careful as the aftermarket upgrades for these usually involve mega sized discs and even with 18's sosme sizes are not possible. Mines, the GTR discs wil not fit under stock wheels mate it's 17" minimum required. I still say "decent" discs and pads, new fluid and new lines will improve your braking ;) cheers smithy
-
Better Brakes
They both fit straight on, though the 34's require a very minor mod of drilling the caliper holes out slightly bigger. FYI the GTR's are 324mmx30mm. Just be careful that sometimes the discs can be a bit naff when buying these kits second hand, usually a good bit of age and often heavy use, calipers are good though ;) cheers smithy

underdrive pulley
In Answer to Jap/UK differences, yes there IS, sold over a 100 of these babies and the jap spec uses a smaller Alternator belt, i've got around 6 of them lying around from where i've had to change it for a UK one, otehr than that the other belts are the same, that said, for how much all 3 are, you may as well fit new. cheers smithy
