Its been nearly 9 months away from my Z now :( Imagine how I feel

Its a little more than a drop in the Ocean comparied to what I have spent, but I get your point. But at this time of year its not something that wont go missed :(

What should I do? The car is nearly ready but there is a question over insurance. Houghton give me great quote (little plug there ;)) considering the mods now, but there is £150 difference between insuring it now aged 24 or when Im 25 in just over 1 months time. What should I do? Resist temptation and insure it now or wait yet another month and insure it in December? Stuart

I will go. Little nervous about oulton because it is a very techinical track. I would pay £120ish.

I find when I try really hard to get a good launch I always feck it up, but when I pull off quickly with out getting ready too, like when I suddenly see a gap in the traffic when trying to get on a roundabout, I do near perfect launches. :confused:

Changing gear trouble sounds more like air in the pipes or something like that. The clutch slipping in 4th and 5th does sound like the clutch is slipping. I would start off will a complete flush of the clutch fluid and get all the air bubbles out and get all the old stuff out. Do the cheapest thing first.

good clutch control.

The oil hose from the side of the sump which goes into the cooler is very close to the steering column. I wasnt happy with the location when I put it on and now I realise that it is touching the steering column. Does any one have a picture of the way the hose goes under the engine? Or can any one describe how it goes round the steering column? Thanks.

Trust me, the MR2 does not have better brakes than the Z. The Z ones work! ;)

ZX has been in a number of films. There was one called "The Pimp" or "The Whore" and the main pimp drove a 300ZX. It played quite a big part in the film apparently. Its also in Time Cop and Teen Agent.

Kirbz, Good on you for having a go at arranging this. I hope you have better experience than I do. I must say that Oulton, although a superb track, is quite tricky to drive. I also really doubt that we will get out of 3rd gear. Infact you will be doing well if you get into 3rd gear. ;) Unless they use the full indie ciruit. Stuart

You can get LED bulbs for the dash now, which are much brighter than normal bulbs.

The dial has not been converted to MPH. All that has happend (By the sound of it) some one has just put a MPH face on. The speedo is still working in KPH and the trip is working in KPH too. What you need to do is get a the Jap dial face back on and then get a speed convertor. you should get the faces changed professionally as it is near impossible to get the needle back in the right place.

Would it run like that if the chip is for 555cc injectors when you are still running stock?

How about a Z only trackday?
