  1. There is very little detail there. Steam/smoke from the bonnet is never usually a good sign. But it could be burning oil which was split after an oil change. As for water dripping from under the car. Where about from under the car. Front, back middle, to one side? Had it been raining? Is it losing water? Is the water a particular colour? Does it feel like it has coolent in the water?
  2. does forged pistons count as 6 mods? One each? ;)
  3. This is nothing new. A Diabio VTTT was made years ago and they tuned it down to 900bhp to make it realiable.
  4. Yet another person who deserves all he gets. 10 seconds later and they would have hit those people on the motor cycle.
  5. Have you posted this on the Lancia register forum?

I just feel sorry for the person in the Escort now who has now has no car and will have to wait months to get the money back if its a write off and never will get what its worth or will have months of it being in and out of garages because most of the time you get shoddy work.
  8. What beemer is it? Does it have 300bhp and rear wheel drive?
  9. Any one seen the Simpsons when Homer got done for drink driving and had to go on a course. He was laughing at the video saying "Hehehehe, its funny because I dont know them"

I used to use it as a daily driver but ended costing too much. Round town you are looking at 16-18mpg and on the motorway 22-25 at 70-80mph. YOu can get 30mpg but you ahve to drive at 55-60mph all the way which is quite hard to do. However mods, age of the car and condition of the car will effect the mpg.
  11. You need to know what rim size your wheel is. If you put a tyre which is too large for the wheel, it will cause it to bulge out decreasing the area which is in contact with the road.
  12. I had those falkens. Not the best but good value for money. The trye is a good mid performance choice of the Z. the Kumho 712 are what I had on my car on when I bought it and I would say they are dangerous for a car like the Z
  13. Could be a problem with the speed sensor located on the gearbox. Usually the speedo dies with it, but it may just be effecting your steering.
  14. If I remember, the cooling fan only comes on, on the Z at 105ºC and goes on to high speed at 115ºC If the fan is only set to come on at those temperatures, anythink upto those temperatures are not abnormal
  15. Yes the steering is speed related, so a false signal or missing dignal to the part which controls the stiffness of the steering will cause it to go mad. Is it an import by any chance? Most of the time its the speedo converter which is playing up or a wire has come lose on it or there is a bad connection.
  16. I think that all criminals should be treated like that. He threatened peoples lives with his actions and he should be brought down as soon and as quick as possible. I like it in America where the police will ram cars off the road if they feel needs be. Unlike here where the police get sued for chasing criminals who then crash in the getaway
  17. Sounds like what I had. Get rid of them. I had the back end kick out on me rolling at 20mph round a corner on a damp road.
  18. I have no problems with the main beam on my car. Infact I would far as saying they where good compaired to others.
  19. 245 is your limit. If you can find 255 for a 16 inch wheel, the Z wheel is not wide enough for that size tyre and it will end out bulging out making the contact area worse. There could be a problem with your suspention if it is that bad, but you will be surprised how much a good set of tyres will change the way the car handled. I had Kuhmo tyres on the rear when I got my car and it would slide and wheel spin with needing very little effort. I changed to Bridgestone SO2 and they gripped better in the wet than the Kuhmo did in the dry. I will never buy a budget set of tyres again. Instead of trying blackcircles try, http://www.mytyres.net.
  20. Well last week just he top end was purple while the rest was still a vibrent red. I think I should ease off now ;) Dave.. Halfords havent run out of paint but I have. You wont believe how much we have used, cosidering we has weeks of paint reacting badly. One side of the car has got a few bits in it :( as the wind was coming from one direction when we sprayed it. nothing too drastic, it will rub out easily. :D We planned on doing it last week but a huge beach tree decided to let about 1,000,000 seeds go on the same day :(
  21. Ask Bob at Safe and Sound. He is the alarm guru around here
  22. You will have 0 NCB until the issue is sorted out. It happened to my friend a few years ago. Some one drove into the back of him 2 days before his renewal. Upon renewing the insurance company said that they would insure him with 0 NCB until its sorted and then have the rest refunded if found not to be at fault.
  23. 1 Pyton but not any more
  24. The Wiseco pistons? That is what I have got. They seemed to have put the price of the pistons up a little though.
