Another brakes question.
I think I am just gonna give the brakes a but of an over hall. They should be good brakes for what they are 4 pot and I think they are brembos. Is is possible to use stock calipers on a larger disc. Like people when they get 17s or 18s put skyline setup on. Cant I just put larger discs on and use the stock calipers? Stuart

Boost controllers and boost gauges
One last thing. For the water temp, you may have to get a hard pipe made up from Smithy or take you car to a garage to put the sensor in. You will have to drill it into the pipe yourself, because none of the adapters fitted the stock sender hole and you cant get an adapter for the water. You could do it yourself if you wanted I dont thing its that hard really, but I cant see a garage costing you much as it will only take an hour at the very most to do. Stuart

Is This a Record?
Here in the North West, it snowed for about an hour last night but it didnt really stick. After that it rained and washed it all away. Its been a nice day today really. We where stuck on the M6 for 7 hours years ago, probably 15 years ago. When we got home you could see our Gold Capri in the news shot. Hehehehe. Stuart

Boost controllers and boost gauges
The PRO LED gauges come with senders with them. The boost gauge also comes with all attachments you need, brass bits, nylon hoses and stuff. When you want to replace them I am sure that they are all just universal ones. Why reinvent the wheel? In Nissans case cos they can charge 10 times as much for it. :D On thing I will suggest you need is a T-Peice for the oil pressure so you can keep your stock one on too, of you get an oil pressure. They are £5 ish again, and will allow you to plug both your new oil pressure sensor in and you old Nissan dash one. Stuart

number plate
These are not dateless, but they are in a way but there are not meant to be dateless. The are infact Irish plates, cos old format UK ones dont have Z's. I think its Steve E how has a cool one A 2X TT or "A ZX TT" That is cool I found one "X 321 ARO" When spaced out correctly and seen in the rear view mirror spells ORA1 2EX Oral Sex ;) Stuart

Boost controllers and boost gauges
Tony I got ones called PRO LED ones. They dont have any pictures on the site of them but they are listed on the list of stuff they have. They are the only place I could find on the internet that has them. I found them on http://www.speeding.co.uk where they are £2-3 cheaper, but they had limited choice. I ordered my oil pressure from there and its free delivery. But after ordering I read their site saying it make take 2 weeks to arrive  wish I got them altogether instead of getting them from different places and trying to save a few quid. The PRO LED gauges are all mechanical. Except the boost. I have never seen a mechanical boost, but its only a small tube that blows a small portion of air. Like Andy I prefer mechanical, cos I too dont like the idea of boiling hot water and oil flowing inches away from me and my radio. Electrical one are just as acurate as mechanical ones, but its worth replacing the senders every few years. They will only cost you £5 each or so, and not £80+ for Nissan senders. Stuart

Nissan Skyline
I just looked at that site. I think it depends on which skyline too. Cos the R31 I think is a 2litre and not a 2.6. Stuart

Another brakes question.
Are my brakes OK? All the calipers are less than 2 years old, and so are the discs. If I lightly apply the brakes, and then suddenly press very hard, the car stops very well and the brakes really bind. If I am driving and then I slam on the brakes as hard as I can straight away, the brakes dont work as well and its seems to take a moment for the brakes to react. Is anything wrong? I am going to fush out and put fresh stuff in. Could bad fluid cause this? Stuart

Nissan Skyline
GTS Turbo I think. Cos they did make an NA version too. The GTS is a 2 wheel drive version but its only a single turbo and down on power. I had a quick look on the internet and it looks like they are about 250bhp Stuart

Boost controllers and boost gauges
Yes its best to see what boost you are running at. The boost controller will do its best to keep the boost to the set level and does a good job of it. But they are not perfect at keeping the boost at a very constant level and is alway adjusting to keep it there. However if the electrics used to detect the boost are slightly out you could be pushing more boost than you think. You program for 15 psi and you could actually really be pushing 16, 17 or 18 if the boost control is not working at 100% The extra boost gauge is just reasurance that the boost controller is doing its job correctly, and because the gauge is directly driven from the turbo pressure its a lot more accurate and safer way to measure it than electrical sensors which can get worse over time and send false data. The boost controller and the gauge will probably always show the same pressure, but if 1 day 1 of them is showing a different vaule something is not right. It could be the gauge but most probably, the boost controller has gone wrong. And that £40 boost gauge could have saved you a very expensive rebuild. Plus they look really cool :D Stuart

Air conditioning.
There are 2 sensors. 1 is in the nose of the car telling you the ambient temperature. The other is behing the vents near the interior light between the T tops. That is the one which detects the temp inside the car and the adjusts the heat accordingly to maintian the set temp on the console. Stuart

Speeding! CPS? Arse!
My sisters boyfriend, drunk one night walking went to get a curry after leaving the pub, when a fight broke out. He went out and tried his best to stop it, which they did. Anyway he gets his curry and starte making his way home. All of a sudden a pig waggon pulls up 3 police jump out and try bundeling him in to the back of the van. They didnt say anything to him. As you can imagine being startled like this and being a little drunk, his curry didnt stay in the tray and it spilt on a police twat. When he got to the police station they told him that he was being arrested for that fight outside the curry shop. He told them that he was trying to stop it and that he should phone the shop and ask them. They did and he was cleared of the the fight, but they kept him for assulting a police officer. His curry spill was assault. He was very worried but a week later they dropped the charges. Another one that was in the paper. Old womans house was burgled the neighbour phoned the police and the council. The council where there in less than an hour to change all the locks on the door and infact they repaired to the door too and added extra locks. The police arrived 2 days later to get information. Speeding! CPS? Arse!
I am happy to say that I have never had a speeding ticked nor any other driving fine. But if I do get caught speeding I will ask to see proof complete with proof of calibration checks on the camera. They may drop it. :D I am very careful anyway. I try not to speed round towns. The only places where I will admit to going a little to fast is on the motorway. And even then its 90mph tops. Stuart

Speeding! CPS? Arse!
Yes they are shite. My sister's boyfriend had a bump (not his fault) on the M6 about 18 months ago and he had to take his stuff to the police station. They had no idea of what he was on about. They rang the St. Helens station, they didnt know anything about it, then rang the Warrington station, they knew nothing about it. So 2 days after this inccodent happened no one in the police had field it. We where told by the person at the front desk in Wigan, its becuase no one wants to do it cos of the paper work. They they all left it for another station to do it. Motorways are abit iffy cos some part are run by 1 station and a mile down the road another one does it. Another one was AY3388 had a Corsa courtesy car and was sent a failure to pay a parking ticket for parking on double yellows in London city centre. He sent a letter back saying its not him cos he lives in Wigan and hasnt been any where near there and on that day he was working and if proof was needed of working he will provide it. Some time later he got a letter appolgising for the mistake. A months later he had a letter through the post with a summons to court, or it could have been a failure to turn up to court. Anyway, he phones a number on the letter and says that he wasnt in London then and he lives over 200 miles away. But they insisted that his Vauxhall Vectra was illegally parked in London on day in question. Hmmmmm, his courtesy car was a Corsa. The Traffic Warden wrote down the number plate incorrectly. You would have thought that when they type in the number plate to find the address of the ower they would look to see if the 2 cars are the same. Thats interesting. If you had a car that was really hard to identify what would they put on a ticket? For example if you have a 300ZX and you make it look like a MR2 or you have the rear window kit making it look more like a MR2 and take all the badges off, and you get a letter through the post saying you MR2 reg no. bla bla bla was parked. You can say you dont own a MR2 and that the warden must have written the plate wrong or it sounds like there is a MR2 with your plate on, wonder if you would get away with it. Stuart

I was flashed by a bloody Gatso!! :(
You dont have much luck with speeding you. Didnt you get done by an unmarked police car on an hour before the law changed saying they couldnt use unmarked police cars for speeding? Ajay, I think you are right, 14 days normally and 17 for delevery problems. But they cant blame slow post office for the extra days. The extra days are for if you have a change of address or the car is a hire car. Stuart Stuart

How Much Brake Fluid does the Brake system hold?
I dont know for sure but I think 2 litres will do it all. I am planning in changing all my fluid soon too. Stuart
