  1. Did you get Classic insurance with A-Plan? If so what where the terms and conditions? Im with them at the moment, and they beat every one elses quote by £90 or so. Every one else gave me a quote then asked what my lowest was then requoted. A-plan where cheapest straight out and I phoned about 10 places. Stuart
  2. This is usually just because the car needs a few little bits cleaning. The cars get on and some parts people just dont think of changing or cleaning. Lets start simple Clean the throttle bodies. Link how to do it is here Take out and clean the water temperature sensor. Its located at the front of the car behind the fan. There are 2 connections, take out the left one, disconnect it and clean the connections and if you can take the sensor out and clean that too. Change the airfilters. My not be due to do it but its worth a try. Clean the Throttle Position Sensor. Cant find the tech to do it but I will look. Change the fuel filter. It may not be due but it wont hurt doing it. Reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for an hour or so. If you can do 2 or 3 of the things first before you reset the ECU, doing 1 of them may not do too much but do a few and it may help. I am not saying that this will deffinatly sort your problem out, but most people who have that problem, these simple things either get rid of the problem or help it. Stuart
  3. I can vow for that. When I got my new rear tyres, the next day I went out and the back end was sliding out goind round corners at slow speed. Stuart
  4. It will be ºC. 80ºF is not even hot enough for a cup of tea, let a lone water thats used to cool a 300ZX. Hmmmmm cup of tea...... Hmmmmm, BRB ;) Stuart
  5. A 2nd hand one in the UK will cos you £100. A new series II PTU from courtesy Nissan in the US will cost you the same
  6. Well I hope you all the best in you new car. Stuart

Pictures of what? her car or her? LOL ;) Dont try to pretend to be interested in the car now, we all know that you are trying to pull ;) Welcome to the forum Vicky. Stuart
  9. Try these in Manchester. When I went there for a dash they had about 10 Z engines out in a garage. They are expensive though. http://www.japanese-car-parts.co.uk/ But on another note, why dont you just get it rebuilt? Stuart
  10. Matty have you input the delivery number on the internet to see where it is? If its longer than the promised day you can get compensation. As for the trains. I am in the middle of buying a Corsa to drive to and from Uni. It takes 35mins to get from my door to Uni carpark by car. I probably use £5 petrol there and back. The train costs £7 return and takes over an hour. The Government wants us not to use our cars, but it costs £2 more on the train than drive and it takes about 1 hour 20 mins to get there on an average day. Some times the train has been on time and has arrived on time, but I can count the times its been like that on 1 hand in 3 years. The government, wants us to use public transport and leave our cars at home. Lets list the good and bad things about each mode of transport. Car: Good: About £5 petrol trip. 35 mins door to door. I can leave when I want. Warm. Comfortable, gaurenteed a seat. Safe. Door to door traveling. Bad: Possible breakdown Traffic. Train: Good: Errrr, now............ I........... Ummmmm...... Yeah......... I think that ummm................. There has to be.............. I know........ No!...... I'll come back to it. Bad: I still have to drive to the train station. More expensive. Not gaurenteed a seat. Have to work you time table with the trains. (Cant leave when you want) Seats are made for people with abmormally small legs and un-natural back posture. Trains full of drunks. Trains full of wankers. Trains full of childish school kids. Trains have canceled mid way tranding me. Trains dont allow any one on if its too full. Trians dangerously packed. Trains always late. Have to stand up for an hour on the train. Frightend to get phone or MP3 player out cos it gets stolen. When I get off the train I still have 5 miles to go to get home. Now where is the insentive for me to take the train? Stuart
  11. The pixelating was some one pressing fast forward while the comuter was still capturing. Stuart
  12. People who watch ebay will know that it wont sell for anywhere near that price. Its got 4 days to go. I have been keeping my eyes on a set of alloys with tyres. It started off at £200, then went to £250 for a day or so, in the end the went for £500.
  13. I whouldnt have thought its anything serious, just the bushes creaking.
  14. No dont do it. Besides not being alarmed you will also reset the ECU. When it is reset the ECU will "learn" again how your car is running. It can take over 200 miles of driving for your ECU to "learn" and make you car run at its best. Forever resetting it will cause the car not to run at its best and your MPG may not be as good. Batteries last a long time if looked after. My girlfriends Corsa hasnt been started for 3 months and started first crank. If you are not going to go any where in your car, just start it up and let it idle for 10-15 mins to charge the batter and to keep things moving. Stuart
  15. Dont know what Ferrari he is trying to make it look like. The spoiler looks F40ish, and as do the doors slighly, then got the Testarossa rear light cluster.. But I thought the the Ferrari badge was a step too far. Stuart
  16. No its to stop the squeek too. It could be the bonet catch. As Andy said put a piece of electrical tape round the U catch. Only go round once or twice. Any more than that and it wont close. Stuart
  17. I think its done very well. I have seen Z's with kits on to make it look like a MR2. Why? At least it looks like something good. Sill wouldnt to it to my car though. Stuart
  18. Did you notice if you have Polly torsion bushes or any other bushes at the front. They have a tendance to creek if that goo is not used or comes off. Stuart
  19. Try http://www.japanese-car-parts.co.uk/ They have loads of scrap Z's, but they are expensive though. Stuart

No it takes time for the oil to seep in from the turbos. You would have burned that lot off. It will probably do it again in the morning. Stuart
  21. Welcome and I hope you get a good Z which will give you endless joy. On the note of good garages, most garages will be able to simple things to your car, such as the brakes and stuff. But for the major things, major services, belt changes it is worth traveling for. Stuart
  22. I actually find the high beam quite good. My dips where terrible then I found that the lights where not alligned correcty, dispite passing 2 MOTs. After adjusting the headlights there where much better but still not brilliant. Stuart

I dont think its really needed but its a hell of a lot easier to do with one. http://buy.snapon.com/catalog/PRO.asp?SUB%5FCat%5FID=1467665&SUB%5FCat%5FNAME=Fuel+Systems&Cat%5FID=1467299&Cat%5FNAME=Diagnostic&group%5Fid=1448&group%5Fname=Sensor%2C+Oxygen&tool=all&store=uk The 3rd one down says fits most Nissans, most probably be the one then. About £30 a little steep but its snap-on and will probably save you alot of argovation. Stuart
  25. See if only 1 horn is working. Most horns actually have 2 horns a low pitched one and a higer pitched one. If 1 doesnt work they sound pants. My horn is very good. Stuart
