  1. I think if you use boost jets the safty boost will activate. Some one made a circut which makes the hazard warning light come on when safty boost is activated. This works with boost controlers too, but the boost wont come down, just the light will come on. Stuart
  2. Sorry to say this but most Subaru drivers are wankers. They have a good car but it automatically makes them think that they are good drivers. Also they all think that they have the best Subaru but infact only a small number are the STI ones. Stuart

Thats the old one. There 3 is out now. Honda NSX
  4. No a simple thing like that can effect the way the car goes. A bad battery and or bad earth can cause your car to run like poo. AY3388 has a friend who stripped out his Lancia for a respray and when they put every thing back they made sure all the earths on the car where as perfect as they could be and the car flew after that. More power more MPG. A poor battery can cause poor sparks, weak ECU signals anything electrical could be effected and have a knock on effect on the car. Maybe worth testing out my battery cos I mines starting to feel slow. Wonder if it could be that. Stuart
  5. Bitmaps are large files. You have to convert it to a JPEG. Do you have paint shop pro or photoshop? I think you can use MS paint on the newer OS. Load the fine in paint then click saveas and in the save box there is a combobox below where you type in the name of the file you want to save. Click that box and select JPEG or JPG or GIF and click save. Then try to upload that file
  6. Mine does that when its cold, its a pain. But as long as it comes back down again, its just the ECU putting the choke on and then it takes time to realise that you have stopped and it doesnt and lower the revs. Whats your revs like when warm? Is it between 700 and 900 rpm and smooth? If so, think yourself lucky. ;) Stuart
  7. The Tornado has the advantage of being able to cut the corners at mach 1.8 :D
  8. I have seen a Jap XJ220 v a Jaguar Jet. Also seen the Numan Hass Indycar (CHAP CART or what ever its called now) v a US figter dont know what one. Both had the same result car went infront for about 10 seconds before this plane pissed past it doing over 200mph. Still interesting though. :D
  9. i think its the PTU. 22020 is the PTU, dont know what the rest is. http://www.300zx.lv/catalog/?gr=D&sec=220
  10. what does the n/stock mean? That its not been held in stock?
  11. I know you say you are not that bothered about the MPG too and from work. But when you have spent £25 on petrol and you realise that you havent been anywhere it will pi$s you off a little. Especially when you realise that it would have only cost you £10 in your old car. Have you been in a Z TT? The acceleration is different class to what you used to. I see of VTS and VTR with out trying. I pull off slight more than normal can I can see the Saxo next to me really trying. LOL Stuart
  12. I think you will be stuggling to get a key copied from a bent key. Do you have your log book because they usually put the key code in there and Nissan can make another one for you.
  13. No you shouldnt be able to see any oil. You should be able to see that the bits damp with oil but you should not be able to see a puddle of oil. The oil is pumped round the engine from the bottom.
  14. Not all Autotrader ones are dogs. Just some of them when you look at them you can tell that they aint right, plus seem to cheap to be true. If you look there regulary there are ones that have been there for months and they are the ones that you can tell are bad if they have been there for so long. Insist on lots of history with your car. I got my insurance from http://www.a-plan.co.uk but with all insurers they are cheapest for one person but not the next. As for the repairs, a new clutch cost me £700 fitted about 4 months ago. I must admit it was an uprated cluch, but was only about £70 more than a Nissan clutch. Stuart
  15. The series 1 air con is terrible for directing the air, because you cant do it. Put the air on 40, and press the Auto button then press down to bring down the temp. When it gets down to 25 ish it starts to come out of the sides. But it vairies between 28ºC and 22ºC, depending on what the temperature is at the time. One way to test it is to put it on its coldest because the cold air always comes out the side vents. Stuart

Its flakey cos the spoiler is soaking water. Once it goes like that there is nothing you can do except put another spoiler on. Cant remember the details of the removing the spoiler, but open the boot and unscrew the nuts under th boot lid in the corners. There may be 1 or 2 screws under the black plastic panels in the inside of the boot lid. remove them and have a look. Then its a case of getting your fingers under the spoiler and pull it off. Stuart
  17. No new server and posts got reset.
  18. Most targas leak. The rubber shrinks and doesnt seal correctly. Mine leak and the seals that I am gonna try changing next are $200 from the US
  19. The oil pressure sender is either, above the fuel filter, but I think thats the US Z, or where the oil filter would be if it was on the passenger side. Ie. same location as the oil filter but on the other side. Its most probably the sender packing in. What oil did you put in? Stuart
  20. Hello and welcome 1. 2-3 miles to work will kill your petrol, the choke will be on and you will probably only get 14mpg too and from work. On a longer run you will get about 25mpg taking it easy on the motorway. 2. The engine is really complicated and there is no room to work in. I have done loads of things to an engine, including changing an metro engine before polishing the head. The Z I leave well alone besides the oil changes and stuff. Have you seen the inside of a Z engine bay? 3. You are about the same age as me. Im 23 with 4 years NCB and I got my insurance to £900 TPFT. Fully comp was £1500. For insurance its best to get a UK Z. The Jap ones have higher insurance, to the extent that a Jap NA cost more to insure than a UK TT. All UK are TT 2+2 seaters and all with T-Tops. So if you see a 2 seater or a NA or hard top or convertable, its not a UK car. I spend about £25-£30 a week on petrol on a normal week, if you can afford it try to get a little run around for the short trips to and from work. Parts are not cheap but there are great sources on this forum to keep the cost of things down, and AndyZ is always breaking a Z so cheap 2nd parts are not too hard to find. Nissan charge an arm and a leg for the simplest thing. 4. The most important thing is to wait and not buy the first one you see. There loads of Z's for sale on Autotrader but we get the feeling that most of them are dogs and wont last too long. Happy hunting. Stuart P.S. Where you from?
  21. I think to feel the benifit you have to have 17inch alloys on and larger discs. If your stock ones are a little worn, you can get resealing kits to make them nice again. Stuart
  22. The only dial you shouldnt move is the petrol, you can move the others just dont spin them round and round. There is a adjustment screw on the boost one actually so it goes in the middle when you turn the ignition on. But its crap anyway. Stuart
  23. As I direct swap? No! The connectors on the back of the dash are different sized. How ever you can take the dials out of the series 2 and put them into the series 1 dash. I had this problem when I bought a new dash cos my speedo died. I got an L reg 94 one and it didnt fit, so I just swapped over the dials. Stuart

Thats why I got an after market one. My after market one show 40ºC when the dash is just moving, and when the dash is in the middle, the aftermarket one shows 60ºC. So there is 20ºC difference from the bottom to the middle of the dash dial. However, my aftermarket on has got upto 80ºC when in slow moving traffic and the dash hasnt moved. Again a change of 20ºC which is shown on my after market gauge, and shows no difference on my dash. Stuart
