Uk Cluster into Jap import
I dont know if a Jap one will fit straight into a UK car, but I am sure you can open up the clusters and change over the dials and they work fine. Not had any problems with any ramps round my way. Every place I have been have the car lifters which are the same height as the ground. Stuart

You should have gone for the best of both Nissans. I remember seeing a Z with a Skyline engine and drive train in so it was 4WD and everything. :D

Healthy Oil Pressure?
Isnt it meant to be 30psi at idle or something? And 60psi at 3000rpm? Its amazing how much the oil pressure goes up and down with the revs. My after market dial is changing constently while the stock one usually goes to about 60psi then plumit to 0. Stuart

Hypothetical Crash.....
When we had the accident in the Escort, the engine actually dropped to the floor and want back, so it went literally under the driver and not trought he fire wall. Strange thing is with motorbike is I have seen people come off them at 140mph they slide along on thier arse for a while and then just get up and walk away. But I have seen people on a mophead being hit or hitting a car at less than 30mph and getting badly injured. I watched a program about the history of car safty, because they where built with no though put into it. One test they got a car of the time (50's/60's) and drove it right at a lampost at 30 mph. The car ended up in 2, no joke. Stuart

Ruby Wax on Beeb 1 in a few mins ...
Come on Roy, there is a difference in posh and rich. And if I had that much money I would own a fast car, most probably a Diabo as Ferraris are common as muck. But I would not pay £2000 to drive through countries where my car would be worth more than what a family earns in a life time and having to drive for 20 hours non-stop which is not safe in its own right. I would rather tour round the nice parts of Europe, not Latvia and Russia where I will need armed gaurds to escort me. Im not particually bothered about what people think about me cos I know myself better than some one who dones know me. Some people may think I am a w*nker now, and thats fine its thier opinion. However there is a huge difference between people thinking you are a w*nker and actually being a w*nker, and driving regualry at over 100mph (Because you can afford to bribe the police) through poverty stricken countries (where you probably carry a years worth of thier wages in you wallet) risking your own life as well as inosent people, that is the bigest W*ANKER you could be. Jealous? Of their cars? Yes. Of their money? A little. Of their personalities? NO F*CKING WAY! If that is what money will do to me, I dont want it. Stuart

Brakes feel odd!
If there is a something wrong with the ABS the light would come one, but the light could have been disconnected to pass an MOT or to sell it. Does the light come on when you turn on the ignition? I think it should. Other possibilities are Bad tracking, Bad balancing, Worn track rods, The 3 above any good tyre place can check for these and usually check it for free and charge for any word needed. Torsion bushes need replacing Discs warped Pads need changing Any of this any help to you? Stuart

Hypothetical Crash.....
When we start talking about this we have to take into account things like air bags, crumple zones and yes even you favourate of mass. As we all know that force equals speed times mass. So a ZX traveling at 60mph will have more force than a Corsa traveling at 60, and a head on collision would end up with the Corsa going backwards because of the un-equal forces. This is why when you see a crash with a small car and with a 4x4 car, the small car is totalled and the small car is a mess, because the heavy 2-3 ton 4x4 carry a lot more force than a small light weight car. Also with a car such as a ZX there is a long way from the front of the car to the start of the engine, where the impact would be absorbed before hitting the hard engine and main chassis. This would benifit both cars though, but the more space you have from yourself and the engine the better as a lot of people at a crash like that are seriously injured or killed by the engine crushing them. As for the breaking neck. The human body is a lot stronger than people give credit for. There are tendens and muscles stopping your neck from snapping with a ferce forward movment. As you can guess whiplass is when you tendens and muscles stretch because of the movment, and you neck muscles may even dislocate very slightly. When you hear of people having thier neck broken by twisting their neck, its not, they have broken the spinal cord. But we have to remember that most accidents are not like this. Most are around 30mph-40mph mark and not head on. The weakest part of a car is the side, where you only have a few inches from youself and the impact area. Front quater to front quater impacts are not very good either as most cars ended up with that part of the car just disintergrating and often ended up with the impact acutally reaching the feet of the person on that side of the car. There are many things that make a car safe, such as crumple zones, air bags, strong chassis and seat belts to name a few. There are also many things that make dangerous, like speed, driving like a pr*ck and a badly maintained car. You cant effect how save other drivers are, but you are in total control on how safe you are. Please drive carfully Stuart

300zxTT vx RX7 series 4
Increased boost will account for alot, but if its not running well that will account for something too. Also I think it will be so close that the driver will have a lot to do with it. The RX-7 as said is lighter, but the rear is lighter which means less traction and easier to light up the tyres. The ZX is heavier but more powerful but the extra weight will help the traction when pulling off. Tell us how you went on. Stuart

300zxTT vx RX7 series 4
Its a strange one. I read about the RX-7 and got some conflicting information. The 0-60 ranged from 4.7 to 5.7 and one site even said 6's. Again the 1/4 mile ranged from 14secs to 13.0 and that is a big difference. The RX-7 isnt as powerful at the 300ZX but is a lot lighter. What I think will happen or should happen, is the RX-7 should start off better but the ZX should then start to pull it back in as the speeds get faster, but whether it can do it in 1/4 mile is hard to predict. I have a vid of a inside a RX-7 with a ZX infront any they floor it at already quite high speeds, and you can see the ZX pulling away. Is you ZX standard? Stuart

Ruby Wax on Beeb 1 in a few mins ...
I saw it. Sorry they where all stuck up pricks. That chap with Vic Reeves had it right, about they are driving through at speed with cars worth £200,000 and their are people washing their hands in puddles. Is seems like they just rubbed their face in it and it all was a pompos, stuck up, egotistical thing to do. How about the person who had over 80 driving convictions and yet can still walk free, probably due to being able to pay for very expensive lawyers. Or the richest person in Europe pissed off that he crashed 50 yards away from the finish. What about the poor person who he crashed head on with and now has had thier car totalled because he's a prick. Yet he will get away with any convictions because he is rich and famous and that is the behavour we expect from some one like that so the law can be bent for them. And all these speeding fines they supposedly got. Considering they are in the EU where they went every one ticket should have had the points put on too. But they didnt pay fines of £100 on the spot. Its a diplomatic way of saying bribe! I thought it was just fun, but seeing that showed how much they are all just rich wankers who can get away with it because of thier money. Stuart

Idea from scoobynet...
LOL. It nearly got me actually :D

Traction Control
Its true what Clarky says. Not to the extent of not being able to drive totally with out it, but in the wet and pulling out quicky of a busy junction its very very handy. When I first got it I thought it wouldnt activate that much but in the wet its very often. Mostly as said at times when I have to accelerate and turn sharpely. In the dry, it comes on when I floor it in 1st. :D Its easy to install, if you are confident with wireing stuff up. Last I heard the Supra forum where looking at a group buy of it, so tag along with them, if not try Johnny at GPS. http://www.grasshopperprosport.co.uk Stuart

Who remembers when.....
Least we gone have Corsa and Saxo problems on here. "I just put 18inch wheels on my Saxo and I now get a grinding noise when I drive. What is it?" "I heard padded seatbelts make you car have 10bhp more. Is this true?" "Will the Neon washers make me more desirable to pre-teen girl?" Some one on TT.net asked. "How can I change my Z to a V8 without having to change the head."

Clingfilm upgrade
I dont think cling film will work if its put on by a man. For some reason man cant handle cling film  For example, When at school, my mum made me butties and put them in cling film and looked like it was vacume wrapped, all tight with no air or wrinkles. My girlfriend wrapped her butties up in it and again, like vacume wrapping. I try and it and my butties are stail by the afternoon because of all of the air trapped in there or usually there is a huge portion of them not covered, dispite using enough cling film to cover the hole in the Ozone over the Antartic. Hehehehehe Stuart

Headlights on = dim interior!
Turn the brightness on the dash. Not sure if they are on the Jap Z, but the UK has a button of a light bulb and an up and down arrow. It on the right below the fog light button. Press the up button and it makes the dash brighter. Press down and it goes dimer ;) Try Pressing that a few times. The up that is. :D Stuart
