illuminated rear centre panel?
Yeah the same with the 'Home-Made' red (or any other colour) ones. My OEM 'Green' one looks similar to a non-illuminated one during the day, but as Dave says looks gorgeous when switched on at night. For anyone fitting one of these, wire them into the number plate circuit. This is for two reasons, one, If you're still using the 'Lights-Out' circuit, it could give you false readings, and two, the wires are closer!! :D HTH Dave

Thank you Saz :D Oooooo I've been here a while now, almost five years officially, a bit longer than that as you didn't use to have to be registered before! ;) And I'll be here a bit longer yet, as I still own a Zed, all be it not exactly running properly :(

Hi Si :D I had a lovely time thanks, seen the sights etc, done a bit of this and a bit of that, much like the rest of the year really ;) Considering you could count the amount of times I've frequented this site this year on one hand, it was a bit of a pointless trip, if you see what I mean. In fact some people might of thought I'd been there a long time ago - Hi Honey, I'm Home.........
As title, welcome back ME!!!!! :D- New JAP Car Show For 2008
As title, the people who organise JAPS @ Thoresby Hall, Nr Ollerton, Notts (6th July 08) have set up a new show for this year called JAPS South. It is to be held on Sunday 15th June............- Who do you use in the US of A
Here you go, give this a try.... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=29629- Who do you use in the US of A
I've used Concept Zed before and found them extremely helpful indeed. I do believe (if my memory serves me correctly ;) ) that they did mark it down for import duty reasons, they were very quick and I couldn't recommend them enough. As for the others I've not used either of them yet, so can't really comment. Dave- Anyone for custom fiberglass 6.5" door pods ??
Fair comment ;)- Anyone for custom fiberglass 6.5" door pods ??
Please excuse my ignorance here, but why would you want a custom built enclosure for 6.5" speakers, when you can fit 6.5" speakers without any mods at all?- What Bar is safety boost????
At least you're getting Safety Boost, I'm not getting ANY boost :(- The Update thread!
Well done bud, on both the house AND the Trannie! Now that should get you all the way down to Spain ;) Hope to see you before you go bud!- So where have you put your HID ballasts?
Mine are fitted under the headlamp casings (there is enough room depending on the thickness of the ballast) They give off more than enough light for a 'Flash', infact they are brightest when first turned on, they then dim down!- Eliza Update....
Thanks to all for your support, it's appreciated. As for Eliza, I don't yet know where the money will come from, but saying that I DO have full support from Karen! Which is great :D Karen has stopped me selling Eliza before, as she knows how much I love her!! ;) (both of them :hurl: ) As MAC says, other priorities takeover at times, so I'm sorry to say that this will probably be a VERY long term project. Although I'm looking at having her insured short term over the summer months, especially as we have the houses to sort first anyway. Anyone recommend a cheap insurance company that'll do short term policies? This is the first time in just over four years of owning her that I wont be able to use her :( Anyway, back to the project, with the work I've listed above, would a budget of between £5k and £8k be a realistic amount, considering that the engine work will be done by myself, and the respray wont be a super-duper bare metal one (although it would of been nice to have it done that way) but will be a full (glass in, trim removed) one? Now I know that some will say (and believe me, some already have) that I could buy a decent looking Zed for less than that without the hassle. To which my reply simply is "Doing it this way I KNOW for a fact as to what has (will have) been done to her, and buying another one could be a bag of trouble 3 months down the line!" Dave (Always appreciative of the help on here)- Eliza Update....
Cheers guys, Yes I should still be going to some of the shows, depends on whether I'm allowed in a Non-Zed car!! ;) Because If I have to park miles away in a general parking area, then forget it as I'm not walking miles with my knacked foot! As for moving, we've two houses to sell first, then it's whether there is already a garage there or whether I have to build one (preferable, then it's to MY spec ;) ) Unless i get a limited use policy for this summer, then we could be looking at two years before she's done :(- Eliza Update....
Just a little update for those of you that know Eliza and for anyone else who gives a gnats ass!! ;) Eliza is now officially 'Off The Road' for the foreseeable future! Basically the Tax is out tonight and insurance is out next week, so I've bought a small run-about (a Rover 220SDi Turbo) which I'll be using as my daily from now on, with a view to putting Eliza back on the road sometime in the future. It's not just running costs that are against her at the moment, she still has all of the following problems...... No turbo boost! Leaking rear crank seal Buggered O2 sensor Possible shot HICAS arms + a few other niggly little things Along with the cosmetic problems.... Due to a combination of stone chips, heat and a somewhat dodgy paint job, the bonnet is looking like a patchwork quilt!! All four alloys are in a bad state with patches of lacquer coming off. and a few dents in the rear off-side. So the plan is...... (once Karen and I have moved in together) Remove engine and autobox, Strip body shell, and then send away for re-spray While away strip and rebuild engine On return of body, strip and replace all suspension/steering bushes Then rebuild Eliza to how she should look! Nothing fancy, just all standard no power increases :) Anyway, that's the plan, how long it'll take is another story! ;) Dave- Collection for Harry (RedZeds son)
I'm so glad I came on-line tonight, as I had no idea about this happening. I've just PayPalled a donation over. All our best to all concerned, especially Harry! Dave and Karen (anubis4120@)- Tech Q - ECU Water Temp Sender
Interesting, and I appreciate your time/input, but what happens when the engine actually is cold then? I'm thinking along the lines of reducing revs/ turbo boost! More boost though, as in when you run the Zed from cold you get the reduction in boost, but can still floor it and increase revs (not that I'm suggesting you should do that!! ;) ) Dave- Uk Clocks In A Jap (again)
You'll need your ECU chipping, that's the best way to have it sorted properly! - Hi Honey, I'm Home.........
