Series 2 heater pod
Yes that is correct, and the reason as to why i changed mine over to the Series 2 :D

Series 2 heater pod
Because on the Series 1 version the lower number readout is the outside temp(Ambiant), but on the Series 2 version this space is used for the air-flow direction indication. This shows up better in the attached pic (Series 1 = Type A, Series 2 = Type B) HTH, Dave

Here's the link you want, they are at the bottom of the page, 501 LED bulbs. http://www.smithys-place.co.uk/bulbs.php (YES the link is via Danny's site)

Series 2 heater pod
They look even better with a Blue or Red LED back lighting!! Best of luck with it bud, it's a bit of a pain in the back fitting the ECU (just to the left of your left leg when sitting in the drivers seat) as you are virtually laying on your back in the footwell! But you do loose the reading for the outside temp!

Series 2 heater pod
A series 1 should still keep you warm enough, as it'll be no warmer with a series 2, just more directional!

Series 2 heater pod
Cruise is a toy if you have it, but probably a waste of time to retro-fit! As for the air-con pod, a very nice mod, especially if you have a moaning passenger!!!! ;)

Some recommended PC software progs
Evening all, just thought I'd post up a few recommended software progs that I use from time to time for various video related use on my PC. All of the following I currently use, and find to be very useful, depending on what you want/need to be able to do with them. So, in no particular order..... For DVD authoring; Nero 7 ( I personally don't like 8 or 9, although the menus are in widescreen, I just couldn't get on with them) Excellent prog, relatively simple if you use the Help files, and check on the internet for further help on tricky operations. For backing up of your own DVD collection; DVDFab5 (http://www.dvdfab.com) An excellent prog, it bypasses the copy protection, so that you can back-up your own DVD's just in case something happens to your fav DVD! For personal use only, obviously! Once paid for, you'll receive updates and support for 1 year. About US$50 For 'Grabbing' those video clips from web pages (YouTube etc); Grab-Pro (http://www.orbitdownloader.com/Grab-Pro.htm) Excellent prog for capturing movie trailers that appear about 4 inches on your screen, once you've grabbed it, play it back with something like VLC Player and it's full screen size, and in good quality! FREE Alternate video player; VLC Player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) Simply plays almost ALL video formats! FREE Video format conversion; Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate (http://www.xilisoft.com/) Converts almost ALL video formats into almost ALL video formats!! Including .mkv, .flv, .flac, .mp4, .avi, .mov etc, etc, etc! About $50 Audio extraction; AoA Audio Extractor (http://www.aoamedia.com/audioextractor.htm) A good little tool for extracting the audio from a movie, music video, etc I've found this useful to record the entire soundtrack of a movie, then use Nero's 'Nero Wave Editor' to cut the part/s out that I want. FREE For Torrent downloading; VUZE (Formally Azureus) (http://www.vuze.com/app) For downloading those hard-to-find music video clips!! Please note that this is a downloading utility only, what content is shown on this utility is normally HD quality music videos and trailers, this is purely legal material! FREE For DVD covers; CDCovers.com (http://www.cdcovers.com) For when you have damaged your fav DVD cover, you can download one from this site, then use Nero to print it out. The disc artwork is also available from this site, for when you have backed up your precious original. FREE Anyway, that's it for now, i hope this is of some use to someone. Please note that ALL of the above programs are LEGAL, so please do not use any of the utilities to download, copy or print illegal materials, as that would be naughty! :D All the best, Dave

Hi Nick, I've just had a quick look back through your previous posts, and think it might be a good idea to tell us what you have and have not done yet, and if you have any further symptons etc! One way or another we'll get to the bottom of it and sort it for you. So just type down all you know :D

Who is doing what to their zed.
You're not the first person to say this to me, but I'm 100% positive it isn't. Alas it's just a combination of a poor paint job (before I owned it) turbo heat and stone chips. Everytime it rains the water gets under another part of it and eats away at it. I'm sorry to say, but it's going to be a full front end respray  (well a total respray would be nice ;) )

Connecting xbox to the net questions?
So, if I understand it correctly, your modem/laptop are 10 metres away from your xbox, which is where your TIVO/phone are, that are connected by a cable to the same filter that your modem is connected to! Is that correct Mark? If it is, then you can't do it! But you do have options..... 1) Assuming your modem is purely that, and only has one Ethernet outlet, then you could add a router to it and run a new cable to your xbox. but you've already said you don't want to do that. 2) Go wireless! Quite an expensive way to go if you only have a modem at the moment, as you'd need a wireless router and the wireless adaptor for the xbox. Ive just been trying to work any other ways around it, but I can't think of any, due to the technicalities of multi-plugging and filtration. Sorry bud, Dave

Who is doing what to their zed.
I won't be doing a lot, but hopefully Eliza will be going away for a short while! It'll make a change, as she's spent most of this year in the same spot! Which is............ Here! This shot also shows the extent of the paint peel :(

No boost
My boost guage doesn't show anything on the positive side if I just sit there and rev it............. but then it doesn't show anything on the positive side if I was doing 70 down the motorway at the moment!!!! That's 'cus the turbo is ****ed!!!

Unknown warning Light can anyone help
Rob, just a few pointers to, hopefully, save you some time! When checking the Coil-Packs, check that all of the rubber insulation is complete and intact, as a hole in this will caurse it to earth out and loose your spark. This happened to one of mine, so a new coil-pack was required. On the PTU if you have a series 1 version, then an upgrade to a series 2 wouldn't hurt and would improve reliability (as the earlier one was prone to overheating and thus having dry joints inside, and you can't fix them easily) On the connector front, look out for 'Green gundge' on any of your coil-pack & PTU connections, this can sometimes be cleaned up with electrical contact cleaner, but I personally never found this to be very effective, so I changed all of my connectors, and you get new plugs with a new series 2 PTU anyway, although these do come with a length of loom to connect to your existing series 1 loom, but I cut and chopped mine out (Old plugs, not the PTU!) Anyway, I hope that helps in some way, all the best with it Dave EDIT* Also check the security of the Coil-pack connectors, as the clips become brittle and snap very easily!

This isn't dyslexia. It's a sign of the times
But it's got everyones attention for the wrong reason, and doesn't mean he'll sell for a good price. And that is entirely the point. I'm sorry to say znut, but it SHOULD be important to be able to spell correctly. I'm not fantastic at it either, but then I use a dictionary for handwriting and spell checkers for PC work (although not all the time as my work PC doesn't have one built into IE) and I'll use it before I send this ;) I'm sorry, also, but it's this sort of "Well it doesn't matter" that let's us English down (IMHO) :nono:

exhaust poppin then loss of power!!
Don't get confused between the Rev Limiter and the Speed Limiter. Rev Limiter is the same as any other car, but the speed limiter is set around 112mph, it's a Japanese thing, that can easily be removed with some aftermarket devices, or have your ECU socketed and a chip put in, a fairly cheap job, and as stated above a few peeps here do it, just place a request thread up to see who is still offering it. Ofcourse it could be something else, depending on your speed when it did it if you were nowhere near 112 mph! The popping could be unburnt fuel within the exhuast igniting in the Cat, this could be caursed by you PTU breaking down, thus stopping the spark on one or more cylinders. It could also be a dodgy Coil-Pack doing the same thing. Personally I'd opt for a unburnt fuel problem, as the speed limiter should perform smoothly, and not give a popping sound. HTH Dave
