  1. Here's my original thread ... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=76132&highlight=alloys I am thinking of having them chromed, but that probably is a little expensive, but it is a future consideration
  2. Hi Phill As Si has already stated, I wouldn't bother. Since they started to deteriate they really look crap! I cared for them properly from the start and now they need re-doing to make them look good. The process took a couple of weeks to complete and did involve a lot of work, but to be honest they looked better without the laquer on altogether! As for the price, I can't remember, but I will have a look for the info tonight when I'm home. I'll post a link to my original thread about these in a min when I find it. Once Eliza is working properly again, I'll start to strip the laquer off and re-polish them myself (as the majority of the work is already done) and decide from there how to treat them. Dave
  3. I do recall saying something along those lines some time ago, but now I'm getting older my memory is fading a bit, as I can't recall what the hell I was refering to now!!
  4. The share-holders xmas party, they love a nice bit of bubbley!!!!! **** me!! Is your handbrake for when you're in the boot??? ;) Either that or you've got a funny shaped arm! :smash:
  5. As Jeff said, AH3. The correct name for it is Cherry Red Pearl, gorgeous colour  but then I'm biased ;) This old post of mine shows the code location.... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=744177&postcount=6
  6. They were polished, by a company called pureklas.co.uk. I even paid an extra £100 for a 'Special' clear laqure to prevent any corrosion, but guess what? This special coating wasn't all that special, and defo wasn't worth the extra £100!! I would like to have them chromed, if I ever have the money ;)
  7. Cheers guys and thanks for the support, I am actively finding ways to keep her
  8. Because you're here Stuart :D And Iain thretened to break my legs and arms if I didn't!!!
  9. Thanks Si, it'll be nice to be back more regularly It's been very depressing having to walk past Eliza every morning and getting in my little Rover, and just not being able to take her for a spin when i feel like it :( Hopefully in the new year we can sort her out :)
  10. Here you go.... http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi HTH Dave
  11. Nope! But the Nissan service manual is on-line here on the club site somewhere. I used to have the link, but I've lost all of my Explorer Favs recently, so can't locate it at the mo.
  12. That's a future mod on mine, but with a twist ;) (problems with car permitting though)
  13. As title....... Just got off the phone after talking to Jeff (ZedWorld) for quite some time regarding what we can do about Eliza. It's now looking like she'll be 'Trucked' down to ZedWorld (that's because she doesn't have an MOT, Tax or insurance at the moment), at which point she'll be examined as to the extent of the boost problem and, basically, we'll see from there as to how much it's going to cost etc. Then there is still the small matter of an MOT to be done before I can have her back on the road, hopefully for next summer, although she won't be looking as good as she used to, but that's down to the paint problem on the front end. Jeff, if you get to see this, I really appreciate you phoning me this evening  as it's so much better to talk directly with someone who knows what they are talking about, and you've made me feel better about her again ;)
  14. That depends how careful you are. Mine have been on about three years and are still perfect :D
  15. Although I fully agree with Si ( ), I have done this mod myself. Hopefully this link http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=44039&highlight=spec+rear+lights may be of some use to you. HTH Dave
  16. As long as you have an original key code, I can supply a full version on disc. But it'll only work with a proper original code for that version. PM me and I can sort it out.
  17. Yep agree, works fine with Vista 32Bit, but then so does 8 and 9 aswel.
  18. Si, I don't want to break her if I can avoid it, but like everything else these days, I've got to find the money from somewhere to pay for the repair. I really do love owning and driving her, and I'm still actively pursuing ways to have her sorted out. I prefer the next one, the one where I have my weapon out!!! ;)
  19. "Always look on the bright side of life................"
  20. Yeah, right...... of course it is!!!!!!
  21. Am I missing the point here? But why the hell does he park it under a raised container??
  22. This is the same problem I currently have with Eliza :( So the future is not looking good at the moment, combined with paintwork problems and a couple of serious dents, this may look like the end of Eliza. And as I no longer have anywhere that I can break her, then it looks like she'll probably be scrapped, as I'm sure no one would buy her as she is
  23.    JeffTT!!! ZedWorld!!! AND subscribed member all in the same thread AND on 300zx.co.uk!!!!!!!! Are my eyes deceiving me??    What the hell has happened while I've been away??? ;) No, really Jeff nice to see you are welcome back here bud! I'm going to have to ring you up soon, as I've got a serious problem that needs some attention, and Eliza isn't running to well either!
  24. They say they've got something like £2M worth of cars there!! Off the top of mi head.... 5 Aston Martins 6 Lambos (including the new LP version @ about £197K) 4 Ferrari's 2 Audi RV8 (or whatever the number is) and various Mini's, BMW's A hummer, and American police car were all at the end we were at, plus there was the rallying at the other end of the site. Anyway a great day was had by all (especially me ;) ) but ended up buying the in-car video plus the circuit photo's as well, which are all grossly over priced! As for me being back, well I'll pop in from time to time. Hopefully 2009 will see me back properly, along with a much better feeling Eliza! We'll see, depends what the diagnosis is regarding the boost! If it's bad news, then there'll be another Zed being broken! Anyway, lets look on the positive side :D TTFN Dave
  25. TBH, I had ConZult then sold it because I wasn't using it to it's potential and bought Datascan, what a load of crap! A total waste of money.... let me explain, Sometimes it will conect to my ecu, sometimes it wont..... sometimes it'll connect, work, then stop working and hang... sometimes it wont even recognise my ecu! Now it's not the ecu, because I never had 1 problem when using ConZult! Make of that what you will. And if anyone says, 'but mine's always worked fine!' I'm not really bothered, mine doesn't and that's what matters to me! ;) So, what i'm saying is, buy the ConZult, you wont regret it one bit.
