  1. To replace the main carpet it's..... Front seats out Rear seats out Door tread plates out Centre console out (completely) Rear 1/4 panels out And I believe that's about it! Half a days work really :D
  2.    Yeah, I wish! Thanks everyone, much apprecited, Dave
  3. What'd ya mean??!! ;) I think she's pleased though :)
  4. What? As in 'Deaf'? Yeah it'll be the loud bang on impact that did that!!!
  5. :duffer: I'd just like to inform anyone who knows Karen and myself, that on Christmas Day I................ Asked Karen to be my wife :D And she ACCEPTED!!!!!! :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: No idea as to when we'll get married yet though as a few things really need to fall into place first, but we'll get there soon hopefully ;) One being that we live 43 miles apart at the moment, which makes it very awkward, not that I let that be a problem, but it does cost me a small fortune in fuel :D Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read this little note, just thought I'd let you know :) Dave
  6. Thanks guys for all your help, it's really appreciated. Let's hope it's not a fooked turbo, as that will defo be the end of Eliza for me, as I've just received my credit card statement ( ) so there's no way I can afford to have that rectified :(
  7. But surly if it was blocked to that extent, then the engine would stall, or at least run very rough?! But my engine is running fine.
  8. Hi Nick, Yeah the engine runs OK, as far as I can tell. Gave her plenty on the way home this morning, and apart from the lack of boost, the only other thing out of the ordinary was a distinct vibration throughout the whole car at high revs  I even got a slight 'pttssshhhh' (but only VERY slight)
  9. Thanks Eric. Not looking good then, mainly as I have no facilities to do that sort of work anymore (the down pipes, not the AFM) and as she's my daily driver I can't afford to be without a car anymore. So it looks like I'll have to sell her for peanuts then! Again, thanks for the help though Dave
  10. Yep, done that this afternoon, but with no joy :(
  11. OK, so I've resolved the problem with the MAF from the other week, fitted a replacement one. Now I don't seem to have any boost at all! Car drives OK, revs OK, but the (OEM) boost gauge doesn't go to the + side of 0! It'll run between -7 and 0, but wont go past it, and I'm just not getting any boost at all. Done an ECU diagnostic, and come up with code 33 (Left hand O2 sensor) Would this cause the ECU to stop the boost? And if so, how come it's only just started doing it, as I've known that sensor was faulty for quite some time! If the faulty O2 sensor has nothing to do with the lack of boost, any pointers anyone could give me? I'm almost certain that just after I'd fitted the replacement MAF all was well as I did give it a proper run and didn't seem to notice anything amiss. I defo had boost before the MAF went wrong, not that I'm suggesting that the replacement MAF has anything to do with this problem, but just in-case the faulty MAF has fooked anything else up :D TIA Dave
  12. You're unforgetable bud :D A very BIG Merry Christmas to yourself as well :D
  13. Sorry to hear this bud, there really are some scum bags out there. There should be punishment that matches the crime, ie; chop their bloody hands off! Murderers= Execution. Thieves = Chop hands off. Rapists = !!!!!!! ;)
  14. But that's not the shirt he was wearing last night! :D
  15. And what about the 280Z 2+2 (US only model, 260 2+2 shell with a 2.8 Ltr Injected engine)? ;) Anyway, mine has 300ZX on the rear and a Z badge on the front (well it should. but it's gone missing  )
  16. Yet again I'm on the NORAD Santa tracking web site, as I've got the kids with me today. He's currently in New Zealand. For anyone who wants to track him as well, >> http://www.noradsanta.org/en/home.htm There's also a Google Earth real time tracker on there as well ;) Merry Christmas to you all, and I hope you all get what you want to :D
  17. And a lot of people that are in showbiz are exactly the same! Take pop stars, footballers etc arrogant to the last, but who complains? ;) Nothing that was in that program was news to me, or any other real Kenevil fan, it's all old news that's been around for years. Or is it more to the point that it was Richard Hammond that was doing the program, and a lot of people like him due to his 'Hero' status over here in the UK (not that I'm knocking him at all, i think he's a great bloke) and Evil is a Yank who did all his stuff 30 odd years ago?!
  18. Sorry, but I don't agree with your opinions at all. Don't think he treated Hammond all that badly, OK he seemed to give him the run around a bit and didn't want to answer the question regarding how his family felt following the Sky-Cycle crash, but that's his right if he so wishes. You've got to realise this guy was dying, and he knew it. As stated by Steve above, he was a great showman, that made a few mistakes, but there's a damm sight worse people who are in the public eye as much these days as he was back then, that quite frankly don't deserve to be! He was a proud American and wasn't ashamed of his background and wasn't afraid to support his countries flag (pity there arn't more people over here prepared to do that for our own Union flag  ) It's not always a good idea to meet your hero, as they might not live up to all the hype! ;) It was a good program, and he's still a hero, and I'm watching the film in a few minutes :)
  19. As mentioned, there are a few copies of the Screener version out there, and it's top notch DVD (almost) quality as well. Not got around to watching it just yet, but when I do, it won't be with annoying people in the cinema ;)
  20. Right Jim, lets break this down a bit........ Rear fog... JSpec cars don't come standard with a rear fog lamp/s. For conversion options see here >> http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=42161 Front fogs... JSpec cars DO come with these standard. It's (as you probably realise) the bumper mounted lamp assembly, which houses the side and fog bulbs... Side = 501 fitting, Fog = H3 fitting but with a bullet (Jap type) connector instead of a spade (UK type), and this is possible why yours arn't working, I'll explain... The connector on the rear of the lamp unit has three pins, one Side +ve, one fog +ve and a dual purpose -ve, so you wiring should be there. You'll then see if there are two lamps fitted (501 & H3) if they are check to see if the H3 works (Continuity with a multimeter, or other test apparatus/device), if not then thats your problem, but when you buy a UK spade type H3 (available anywhere) you'll have to cut the female bullet off the loom side and fit a spade type, then you won't have problems in the future. If the H3 does work then check to see if you're getting power to the connector, and chase back from there. (sorry I don't know of a wiring diagram for the JSpec cars) I would guess at that both bulbs have gone, and the previous owner/importer hasn't bothered to change them! As for the Hazard circuit, it could be a few things, but it's a case of checking through the circuit, which is here >> http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=el&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=59&design=default&total=133 Best of luck with both problems, regards, Dave
  21. Check the switch with a multi-meter. Test it as groover has stated above, but use the meter and not power, as you'll end up blowing fuses!! ;)
  22. Don't forget guys that you need to place the red bulb in the OFFSIDE holder, for the FOG, otherwise it'll be illegal! ;)
  23. Just found this pic...... And yes, that is Kathryn Drysdale (who plays Louise in 'Two Pints...') second from left.
  24. How can you say that? With George Cole as 'Flash' Harry? Classic stuff (especially when you consider they were made in '54, '57, '60 & '66!) They were the epitome of British comedy of their era, and all home grown comedy talent, the utterly fantastic Joyce Grenfell, and the irrefutable Alastair Sim to name but a few! This new one may be rubbish (hopefully not though), but it could never be "..as rubbish as the original" as the original(s) was(were) never rubbish to begin with! ;)
