well it has had new pads fitted so i will check however this is definitely a power loss. and one which seems to be happening at a lower speed. would also like to mention if i go to whatever speed slowly there is no powerloss however as soon as it is under high engine load the power loss happens.... whether it is from a stand still or if i am on a motorway and kick down if i have foot all the way down the car has a huge powerloss lasting a second..... not too worried yet however when a Peugeot tried to cut me up yesterday 1.9 diesel i placed my foot down and the power loss happened at 60...... in the end the pug cut me up and i looked like a idiot >. Peugeot pretty much killed me

Bought a 300zx off a forum member here and all was well. 2 days after i had bought it i noticed that when you floor it it gets to about 90 ish then there is a power loss for a second. does not matter if i let go or keep my foot on it will still have that second where it lets go anbd it feels like i have slammed the brakes on..... Changing air filter this week as noticed mine is black (red originally) however when i went out the other day it started doing it at 60mph... then it will be good until about 90 then does it in intervals! Having looked at the forums it could be anything /sigh list of possible things: CAS fuel filter or crud in bottom of tank Fuel Pump boost leak MAF the silly list goes on >. anyone had a similar experience? Sometimes the car will run rough until i press on all injector plugs (next job will be to change them) but apart from that the car starts first time everytime and does not hesitate until the power loss problem occurs. I know it seams this zed won;t be as reliable as my last however i am dying to find out just what the hell is wrong with my car p.s basic ECU test came up 55 and when the power loss happens there are no warning lights or any indication apart from the loss in power. as car mad has said. you wont use ps3 games much. i have all th sries of final fantasy (sad i know) so i need the backwards compatibility to play the ps1/2 discs. also if you get the psp the remote play would make good use of the emotion chip. any advice you want i will be glad to help. gaming and pc's are my thing.. although the older i get im starting to strugge to kp up to date with everything now. id say consoles im still good info for but im losing the touch with the pc's. ^^. i like me gadgets and tend to buy things even if i only use them once but the psp remote play is an awesome bit of software. i can view all my ps3 videos and pics and play games through the internet on my psp and get it to download from th ps store while im on holiday so tht it is ready and installed waiting for me when i get back. then i use the psp to turn the ps3 off/on depending on if im downloading or not ^^ also a must get if possible

i got mine on release date. was the first customer outside the store in hmv to get it at midnight. mine was my engagment present and i loe it oh so much. if you want one that play ps2 or ps1 and cant find the 60bg model then get the 80gb model as that also has emotion chip. installing linux will cancel your waranty if it needs to go back for repair but if you must do it then you can get it down quite easily and also upgrade the hard drive for any size you can afford. i got a psp with mine so i can turn on and view my ps3 anywhere in the world through the psp using remote play. .... cant play ps3 games through psp but can view all your ps3 vids,photos and ps1 games through the handheld. i quite often shove a ps2 disc in the ps3 drive and take my psp to my mates house. use his internet to connect and then play my ps2 game through the internet........ if you can afford to get the psp aswell then do it as it is a must!!!

tell you what if i get in the police this year and end up in the same situation (being the copper) i would be glad someone like you helped out. sod running after them on my own.... i would be waiting for backup unless i got a hand. my mate is allready a copper and he thinks your brave ^^ good job

ok mate that sound very nice of you ^^ ill take you up on that offer. i'm still not sure on modding tho as we are getting 350z in next couple of years so dont think it is worth it. we were thinkin of selling the pug and Z today so we can get a run around to save quicker. she is prepared to give up the car and will agree with my decision if i want to keep the z.... which i do however i know its more sensible on my wallet if i do it her way............. i just think imma keep it as an everyday driver as we live next to work so our mileage if extremely low anyway.

if its in safety boost wont the turbo gauge no go that far into the + mine goes quite far to the right on the gauge. whilst its not as accurate as aftermarket it is doing its job compared to the boost indicator on the "guide to buying a 300zx"

yeah that could be possible........... seems fine and doesnt hesitate. went in for a check over when i had my cambelt changed and he couldnt see anything wrong. apart from pulleys worn and needing replacing

oooooh dear. reckon i should let him know. surely its gotter be better than his banger. i will advise him on the expenses that may occur

yeah but like mentioned to me earlier that must of been modded because i wouldnt of caught up with that until about 130-40 ish. my limit kicked in before cathcing up

yeah it sort of a demo so we can experience it before the full release. im goign to buy it but tbh its worth the wait and saving £20. although they could copy warhawk and enable you to download the rest on HD as en expansion. would be cheaper than a disk in total but if your HD buggers up then you will have to download it again. luckily enough when you purchase something from the online store you have a permanent link so you dont pay for anything again. i deleted warhawk by mistake and went into the store and download it for free again. has a record of everything you have purchased .........

ok well i can live with that. it will be good to see him in something that doesnt sound like S&^t like his beemer does at the moment. although he hasnt looked after it. i think this mr2 will cost him big if he doesnt look after this car ^^

what speed do you reckon i will get it back? providing their is a long enough road?

My mate just rang me up and said he cant afford the 300zx so is going for mr2 turbo. he said he is even happier now as it will beat my tt auto. if this is the case then good for him and bummer for me. he has allways been competitive with me on cars.... allways i dont know about mr2's but if it is quicker i guess i dont mind losing for once. hehehehe ^^ what you guys think

ok i will do that once the pug is sold..... i will look into these mods. although is there a way to get a good exhaust that makes as little noise a possible. 1. im not a huge fan of loud exhausts and 2. My mrs loves the car as it is and will not drive it with a loud exhaust.

ok then. by the way im not really into modding but what could i do to make the car quicker without causing toooo much stress. i would of liked to keep the normal exhaust as i prefer it however i know people are going to say thats a must for more power....... i just dont like loud exhaust noises

should a stock 300 beat a stock rs? maybe not 0-60 but say.... getting to 100 or so. or is the weight and the auto not going to help me out at all? i would like a manual next but my mrs has her heart set on gettin the 350z in the next few years as she wants it so damn much. i know according to top gear the older is faster but she isnt bothered on speed... she just likes the 350z looks! although i will be getting manual next wether its the 300 or the 350
