Exhaust Temp Gauge
really the egt should be in the manifold to get an accurate reading but most people tend to stick them in the downpipes, the main problem is it reads lower as the exhasut gases are already cooling down, also you will need 2 ;) 1 for each side LOL Mike

yes but getting fast times is different, in a 6-700 bhp zed with the right suspension and tyres you can get a 10 second pass, gred dupree did a 9 sec with about 750 bhp (i think) for a start the tracks in the usa are fantastic and very very well prepared ie glued etc unlike over here, we are catching up but lets face it they have been dragging over there for many many years. it all comes down to physics with me, if someone comes on here with a set of ### turbos and makes **** bhp and that turbo and setup is capable of doing that then i am the first person to say "hey well done" but when someone comes on saying they have got xxx bhp and the setup simply cant produce (maybe if magic is involved??) then i am sceptical ;) casing point, MACs car was running around 1.4 bar and ran really well and apart from fueling was at the max and he was running pentroof manifolds, 18g turbos etc etc then the guy (sorry forgot the name) from cyprus comes on running less boost and smaller turbos and makes over 100 rwhp more :confused: so yes i smell some thing and it aint a rat :D i go to my project car that i was building, it was capable of making around 800 rwhp due to the L2 20G turbo which are good for 450 bhp each but in all honesty i was more execting around 700 rwhp. also just to add so i dont sound like a total pr1ck and slating his car which i am genuinly not, even to get 800 is a thing which is not easy on a zed, i should know ;) so regardless of the actual bhp its a lovely car and one of the nicest around, i just dissagree with the bhp claims Mike

i am still confused about the amount of power its made, so its not got 740's but 850's and its not got 20g's but GT725's?? also i'm confused, the GT725's are based on the GT2871?? which is roughly a 380-400 bhp turbo on a 2.2 ltr engine so you have 2 of them on a 3 ltr engine ie 2 x 1.5 ltrs and its not going to make the 400 bhp possible more like 325 or at most 350 each which is more like 650-700 bhp!! now i know your running NOS but on the spec it says (from memory) 60 or 75 bhp shot cant remember which?? i presume to get anywhere near the figures quoted that you now run between 500 and 700 bhp to be getting over 1200 rwhp?? you have an awsome car but again i repeat either the way the bhp is measure in the usa is ALOT different or its a dyno pony, be it a very pretty dyno pony. i would put my house on it that on a dyno over here it wouldnt make 800 rwhp and if it did i would eat my hat :D oh and 2 stock fuel pumps bust be at bursting point to fuel 800 rwhp never mind over 1200 :confused: Mike

i know a ouple of people who have used hawks and they have faded after a while, not bad pads but not as good as the ferodos, you gets whats you pays for :D

no its not easy as there not very accessable, may be worth connecting a commpressor to the boost pipe and try blowing to free up the wastegate?? if not then good luck :D

i'm assuming all the plumbing is all correct?? most likely a sticky wastegate or a solonoid fault, you can put air throught the solonoid to see if its clicking ok? Mike

300ZX swb performance exhaust, rarer than hens teeth!
I think there may be a blueflame one coming up for sale soon, i was speaking to someone last night and his swb has recently been stolen and recovered but the insurance have written it off but i have told him to try to buy it back to break and its got a brand spanking exhaust on ;) Think it cost him £600 from blueflame Mike

most sensor adaptors tend to be the same thread so you would be really unlucky to buy an adaptor that didnt fit ;) Mike

Boost cutting out?
be very careful mate, check the injectors, if there a browny colour there standard, if there purple then there 555's if there standard then you cant run more than 1 bar ish anyway so dont even try ;) if there 555's then are your intercoolers standard? again if they are then dont try more than 1 bar if there uprated then try smithy, he does the ngk's in various coldness's ;) also the heat doesnt help, i just uprated my swb to 1 bar and its detting at 1 bar which i think is mainly down to the heat, plus a bloody big air horn was right in the middle of one of the intercoolers lol Mike Mike

hmmm doesnt look like a great job was done tbh, i dont think the small marks would effect it too much but its one of them isnt it, once its in if it does effect it them its an engine out job again :( if it was me i would get another crank and get them to redo the work again Mike

i was assuming he is running bigger injectors to be wanting 18 psi LOL and i think andyp's stage 2 is for 555's?? could be wrong?

These manifolds look nice
the ones in the pic are not cromed, just new stainless 304 but they soon go dull once they get hot ;) oh and i dint think ive heard of any of the pentroof manifolds cracking?? i know the greddy ones suffer but thats more down to the design and they can be beefed up so they dont crack again, i know of at least 3 people who run pentroof manifolds in this country and have never had any cracking problems :D Good price!! just got mine out to take some pics ;) Mike

in my first zed it did this when i tried to go over 1 bar, it was the plugs on mine, was blowing the spark out so changed for some colder ones, went to a 7 grade and it was fine then :)

Pentroof copies, look very nice, one thing puzzles me, it sayes for use with external OR internal wastegated turbos LOL hmmmm be a little bit of a leak if you used internal wastegates turbos :mac1: Mike
