  2. I have had lots of ups stuff from the states. It usually goes like this :- 2 days from sending from any us state, its whizzed across the atlantic......Then spends a week in some manky uk customs building, before ups kick it around there depos for a further 2 days  2 weeks later the customs charge arrives.Yeh, i'm lucky too
  3. Gumtree is just the same, i have had this email 5 times now. Not from cheapys, they were all in normal price ranges... The car is at my military unit in Glasgow. I can't make it home till another 2 weeks when I'll be on leave for a few days. If you want you can meet me in Glasgow for pick up or I can deliver it to your address if you would then escort me to your nearest train station. If you are 100% certain you want to buy it email me back with a contact number for me to call you. Thanks, Gavril.
  4. I'm on orange + its mostly all good, free wireless, cheap + fast. But, it has gone off for no reason ( i'm not on cable btw) + when you call the charged helpline they are in a foreign call centre + it takes a long time to get it sorted. I have been without internet access for up to 24 hours 4 times in the last 12 months...With no real explanation.
  5. Wow. 8 minutes + an overwhelming No, your flogging a deadb horse. Cheers All
  6. Hi guys. So i've been offered a set of 17" 'superadvan'? wheels in exchange for my stock set + a few quid. The seller claims they fit'straight on' + are the same offset. As usual i'm not convinced, any one know for sure? :taz:
  7. Its a requirement if you work in parts to get into that 'stores mentallity'. Phrases like 'no', or ' no you cant' 'you will need the correct part number + then its no.', followed by ' we havent got one anyway'
  8. Well, after months of indecision my work is closing down. 4 factories + ours is the best performing + most profitable, but under invested in.So its closing . :xxx: :hammer: I can't honestly see if its a disaster or a great oppurtunity( i wont walk away with much ) to do something else, or do something for myself . So how has it worked for you? Has your life been improved by a redundancy, or has it got a whole lot harder?
  9. Zedding comes tops for me.mostly.. :whistling: Until it breaks+ I then spend an hr fixing it + 3 hrs searching around for the best way to do it from the forum
  10. Hi guys. Any ideas on what is a good value radio/cd player ? Or has anyone got one they dont want? Also, do you really need a new car aerial for dab? cheers!
  11. This tickled me. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/21/20100107/tuk-man-with-genitals-in-pipe-cut-free-6323e80.html
  12. My old zed did this, the starter was only engaging about every third turn. Another starter from a breaker fixed it.
  13. Good advice, oils cheap compared to engine rebuilds..
  14. I like that :cool3:
  15. A big bit of thick cardboard over the screen stops the screen freezing, inside + out. Oh, and keep a scraper+ some deicer in the house as well. A gallon can of fuel a blanket in the car saves freezing if you get stranded in the bad weather.
  16. Exactly. If it was me on one of the bikes he would have bumped his head on the steering wheel repeatedly. And then some. Way Too close, just rubbish driving. Nowt wrong with being 'enthusiastic', but hes heading for a big one..
  17. This is fairly common on turbocharged motorbikes. The benefits apart from cooler charges is higher boost can be used safely on engines that would otherwise melt :gunsmilie:
  18. You can get in a rented 16X8 garage.but if your tall like me, its easier to take the drivers targa roof out for less of a squeeze.
  19. Bazz has posted exactly what has happened to two of my zeds, caught before disaster each time through luck. Neither car felt bad to drive, or braked funny, just creaked.Rain or not, worth a peek!
  20. Like its going to be labours choice :clown: :2guns: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1239325/Petrol-rise-15p-litre-Government-raises-taxes-motorists-pay-massive-debts.html?ITO=1708&referrer=yahoo
  21. See if its the sort a 8?or 7? or 6? mm socket will fit over, then you can gently use a small ratchet on it.You can get a lot more pressure on it to un do it, than screwdrivers. You are able to 'over tighten ' with a ratchet though.. I have had to do these on my old zed, i found cardboard on top of the engine+ lay across it with a torch down the back of engine. Not comfortable, bloody fidlly, but patience will win. :cool3:
  22. Hi guys. As i am someone who buys and sells his cars quite often, ahem, i've had a couple of good quotes to cover ANY vehicle i want to drive, including the 3.1tonne van + the bikes. Any good guys anyone can recommend ?
  23. Its 21.c here. Mind you, I haven't been outside yet
  24. Hi. Was yours a tt, or n/a ?? If it was a tt, you really need more caffeine in your diet
  25. I dont really want one, but i've just been asked if i wanted one  Its my dads freinds sons + he said its got 11 months mot + good condition etc+ he wants to sell it cheap+ quick before new year, when he goes back to afghanistan. Only thing is, it has a blowing exhaust + a 'loose cover' underneath.I'm a bit worried about that! Anyone know what to check for? transfer boxes? noises? i have been on gto.uk, but they are not over-helpful
