Good luck ;) More physical exercise is also supposed to help. Failing that a hot bath or shower...hey...if only there was a way of combining the two...oh...wait...ahem... :o ;) :p

I'm always up this late. The curse of the partial insomniac. I've even started the odd thread about it...guess they're still kicking around if you search. My suggestion: hot chocolate and a good book. Or heroin. Whichever is handier. ;)

Hellgate: London
Yep, was reading a post on one of the boards by the head honcho and he did say that if it does well it will be transferred to other well known cities (listed a good 12 or so!). TBH, not wanting to band wagon jump, but for the past 10 years I've had a cracking idea for a game floating around in my head, in which the gaming area was a finely detailed and mapped London (or New York for the sequel! :D) but with less destruction and generally less er...hell...than Hellgate uses. My idea probably wouldn't work with the tech we have at the moment...need to wait a couple of years so it can cope! Lol! :) But Hellgate really does look the one for me. TBH, any game that lists a sanctified Cricket Bat under weaponry is ok in my book: http://www.hellgatelondon.com/weapons/list/?id=7#w-9 :p :D

Hellgate: London
Spent the last hour going over the site, the links and watching the vids. Very, very cool. Flagship seem to be onto a winner here. I've never played a MMRPG before but I think this will tempt me to try. Liking the idea of the new "Hunter" class they've brought in. Makes it way more interesting, more skill and involvement, less "fire and forget". I will be watching with interest.

Got non-stock seats?
I want this one ;) : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/brand-new-Bride-GIAS-Carbon-Shell-seat_W0QQitemZ260054553426QQihZ016QQcategoryZ30172QQtcZphotoQQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item260054553426 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-BRIDE-GIAS-CARBON-KEVLAR-FIBER-LOW-MAX-RACING-SEAT_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33701QQhashZitem130047968929QQihZ003QQitemZ130047968929QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD2V Perfect seat for both street and track use, the best of both worlds. Just don't look at the price tag (being ex-display, the top link isn't "too" bad though...)

Been Busy With A Polisher ...
Nice job! :) I've done a couple of these before and you don't attempt it if you're overly attached to the skin on your knuckles, lol! ;) BTW, if anyone fancies treating themselves to an early Xmas present I'll have a polished plenum complete with polished TB's and throttle linkage for sale from next week, just drop me a PM (strangely, I'd polished it ready to turn it into a table but now changed my mind and doing something else instead! :D ;)) Leigh

Anyone else here a fan of HRE wheels?
Talking of alloys, I have to say I'm a big fan of BBS alloys. JD has a set of LM's which I will one day kill him for. And he knows I will to...;)

Anyone else here a fan of HRE wheels?
Very true. I don't hold with bragging about receipts or the "if it costs more it must be good" school of thought. Utter b*ll*cks IMO. I'm lucky that (at the moment anyway) if I decide to sell the Trafficstars I can put the money straight back towards a different set which makes things easier than finding the full whack from cold so to speak. Will have to see how things pan out. I'll know more when I get the nod either way from Image TBH.

Exactly why I like them. :) I've spoken to several custom alloy manufacturers these past couple of months (including Image which is handily round the corner from me!) and it's looking pretty likely that's the way I'll be going. Also been looking into having my own design made up...;) I love the Trafficstar STM's but they need some work for them to be just how I want them (Image are going to have a look to see if it can be done) but the lure of ultra-lightweight custom jobbies is proving difficult to resist ;)

Check out this page in my journal: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/journal.php?do=showentry&e=75 Had my eye on some for ages. If I can't get a replacement wider section for my Trafficstars custom made, HRE's will definately be one I'll consider.

weird food
Beef dripping sandwiches....mmmmmmmmm....haven't had one of those for years! Also used to love tomato ketchup sarnies although I used to chop and change by having HP instead. Lovely. :) Found a new one on me the other week that I now love: take a saucer of olive oil and add a good quantity of balsamic vinegar. It doesn't mix till you dip in your soft ciabatta bread....I am now really hungry! Bugger.

Helped get Kenny Baker (R2D2...who was the guest of honour...my friend was president of the "Star Wars" society...although he had only seen one film...basically it was a good excuse to form a society and get hammered) riotously pissed on 125 year old port at a small Black Tie dinner at Queens college Oxford. Had to drive his modified green Rolls around as he'd left it across two reserved spaces and the Senior Tutor was apparently out for his blood. Appeared in a low budget "art-house" film with Johnny "Reveals All" Ball. He signed my script. Bless. Had "relations" with Imogen Heap. Went on a post-gig bender with half the GLC in Birmingham (just before they "broke" when they played their last small gig at Academy 2). My mate's mate was their dealer. :wack: Saw Michael Elphick coming out of a flat in Hounslow years ago (RIP Boon) Stood 2 seats away from Jarvis Cocker when he made an appearance in the crowd at Wembley during U2's Pop Tour. He got a round of applause. Called celebrity hairdresser Lee Stafford a "fVcking c**t" to his face when he stepped on my girlfriends ball gown and didn't apologise at another black tie hairdressing do in Stratford (my mom and girlfriend are also in the business and were demonstrating on the same bill). Was amused to see the look on his face (not to mention the evils I got from his "close personal male friend"...) My life is weird.

Any Red Dwarf fans here????
Spot on unfortunately Dave. Writing on autopilot is never pretty. Damn shame as it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth after the gloriousness of what came before...*sigh* :(

Saw 3
Sorry to go against the grain but what utter, utter w@nk. First movie was phenomenal. It raised the bar in the genre. Second was mediocre but this...movie...and I use that term loosely, was a load of band-wagon jumping b*llocks. But thats just my opinion ;)

I.D. Cards????
When John Snow said "so you mean a photo?" and the official replied "er...yes", it seemed fairly conclusive to me. ;) No mention was made of facial scanning tech. Personally I think they're nobbling us via other nefarious means...from the Gospel of Danny: "I don't advise a haircut, man. All hairdressers are in the employment of the government. Hair are your aerials. They pick up signals from the cosmos and transmit them directly into the brain. This is the reason bald-headed men are uptight." Scary stuff indeed. :D ;)

My wifes cousin was shot Dead in Basra Yesterday morning.
Very, very sorry to hear of your loss Mark. Whether people are pro or anti war it does not mean we shouldn't support and be proud of our soldiers serving over there. They are only doing their job and unfortunately some are paying the greatest price of all in the line of duty. RIP.

I.D. Cards????
Did no one read my post? No? Easier to fly into rampant jingoism? Ok, look...the proposed ID cards are not going to happen overnight. In fact the proposed scheme, as it stands now, is circling the drain (read the many reports...1st one was leaked to the Times months ago). However. Are ID cards eventually going to be implemented? Yes. But not through the system we're currently railing against. The IPS (formerly the Passport Service) have been brewing plans for a similar ID scheme for the past few years and once the governments ID scheme is dead and buried, this will still be going strong. Classic mis-direction. As they used to say in The Prisoner "By hook or by crook..."

I.D. Cards????
The last I saw on the subject was on Channel Four news about a month ago where the officials behind the moves admitted they probably didn't have the funds to implement either the iris or finger print identification. Instead they said they'd be using "image recognition technology"....which is government speak for "a photo". Which we already have. Okaaaaay.... :headvswal

FAO hacks and snappers: now THIS is Telephoto...
Word on the grapevine is that an obscenely rich Sheikh commissioned it for wildlife photography...presumably he gets his man-servants to foray out before he leaves for the days safari to chain the odd elephant to the spot in readiness, while another 12 strap it to the back of his Humvee... :wack: ;) Either that or spying on naked girls at the local oasis. A mile away. In clear line of sight of course. :D Considering some of the lens blanks (unpolished) are about the price of some "luxury" saloon barges, there are 15 of them and polishing them increases their price, you can conservatively say that just the lens elements are around £400,000 and that's just for the glass. All the mechanical parts and the electronics, plus the cost of designing it could make this lens way over £500/550,000...

1700mm lens anyone? http://www.dpreview.com/news/0610/06100101zeiss1700f4.asp and for an idea of it's relative size, here it is attached to a Hasselblad camera: http://www.dpreview.com/articles/photokina2006/Misc/IMG_0919.jpg [Andy] I want that one [/Andy] :D
