Hmmm....was talking about getting a cheap runaround in the pub last night. Being charged like a raging bull by my insurers at the moment but if I get a second car the premium gets slashed by £500! Spurred on by this I might be going to see a Mk1 Volkswagen Golf tomorrow for the worryingly cheap sum of £250 (waiting for them to get back to me with the Reg/VIN number/name of registered owner etc so I can run an internet HPI check before travelling over to see it. They haven't got back to me yet, not a good sign!). Anyone got any experience with these, things I should look out for? Or for that matter any other "workhorse" cars you might recommend for very little money? Leigh.

I went for the 5300K kit from http://www.superhids.com (didn't go for a higher rating as I wasn't fussed about having a blue/purple tinge as I'm more concerned with being able to see!:D). I think Chris uses another supplier but I imagine they are basically the same. Leigh

After fitting my HID kit both the horizontal and vertical beam alignment needs adjusting but I'm not entirley sure where the adjuster screws are! Would someone mind posting a photo with them circled for the hard of thinking like me? :o :) Cheers, Leigh.

I was only really looking at buying the sideskirts, and TBH I'm not sure about the venting on them near the rear wheel arch and takemetothepub you're right, there's definately an air of breeze-blockyness about them...but if they could be smoothed in somehow, again they probably would look quite good. Oh, I don't know...why can't someone magically appear selling the Wings West sideskirts I like for the same price!:rolleyes: ;)

And of course it can work the other way as I've found out. In February I paid a VERY well known trader in full (£650, no small sum of money for me) for a part that should have taken two weeks maximum to arrive. It still isn't here nearly eight months on. When he still answered the phone to me it was always "it's nearly here" or "it's held up in transit" etc, etc but now he doesn't answer my calls or return my (many) messages. And yes Mac is aware of the situation (which is why, as much as I'd like to, I'm refraining from naming names or going into detail). And yes I am p1ssed off beyond all recognition now. And yes, if the trader is reading this I am going to start looking into the proper legal redress for this unhappy situation. Like I said, sad as it is, it can work the other way as well guys. :(
