The Zed has a new home
Over the past few months, have been dismantling, moving, rebuilding and re-roofing my old concrete garage. Pretty much got it all done now, so gave the Zed a wash and put it away until I can get the final bits of tuning done. Also washed and polished my company car while the weather was nice, well it was until the moment I finished.

Largest width Z32 16" wheels?
With my car being a UK, it had 8.5" on the rear as normal. I got another set of 8.5" rears and put them on the front, had no problems doing that. Barry

What to use for painting a concrete garage base?
I had a concrete base poured about a year and a half ago. Ive recently re-assembled a concrete sectional garage on it. The base has weathered and in some places the smoothed concrete has broken up and is rough. Im not too fussed about that, but now want to paint the floor. Can anyone recommend a sealer, if it needs sealing and a decent floor paint. The last base I didnt seal and painted with Wickes floor paint, but it peeled and flaked, not sure if thats because of not sealing it, or poor quality paint. Thanks Barry

What to do!!!!
I have the same cams in mine. I had JD create me a running in chip, as close as possible to my mods 615inj, 400 cams etc. Which is now run in by doing 800-1000 miles. The next stage for me would is probably to get Thor to install (think its the Link system) and have it tuned to its full potential. When I spoke to Thor, they did say they can run the car in if needed, I presume its done on the Dyno system. Barry

Best Turbos
I went for the JWT 530bb turbos, as I was planning on making a good powerfull, but yet driveable car. Unfortunately, havent got to the final stage of tuning, so the car is off the road and cant comment on overall performance etc. I bought mine from http://www.czp.us and dealt. Barry

when do u know that . . . ITS TIME!!!
Lee, you really need to sit down, look at what options are there and work out some prices, for example. To get your car sorted, how much bodywork, how much engine work, plus the suspension, brakes, tuning. I know you have a lot of parts, but there will be more expense. Do you really want big power? Other option is to break your zed, selling all your parts and buy a good clean example, either standard, or if you want a modified one, might be cheaper to find one already done. I know youve been pushed into some of your decisions by people who have conned you etc. I would take sometime out, work out what you want, how much you can afford. Last thing you want to do is throw all your money into it, then find out you cant afford to keep it and sell it at a loss. Good luck Barry

Raising the car....
I had the same problem when I first had my wide arches fitted. The bodyshop had left about a 1 1/2 inch lip and this caused the wheels to rub. Since then we have cut the lip back and its been ok. Im running on coil overs and 19" wheels. Barry

Modded Zeds who are you insured with?
Im also with Livingstone Warman, all mods declared bodywork and engine (500hp) and guaranteed ins value of 20k, 5k or 6k miles a year, garaged renewal is 780 FC. If you dont need guaranteed value, I found A-plan quite cheap. Barry

A bit of progress with my widebodied Z
Allan, I have the Tein Mono Flex coil overs with the EDFC. The EDFC only gives the control of the damping of the suspension. It doesnt control the ride height. To adjust you have to jack up the car as James has mentioned above. Also went for the no spoiler look and really glad I did. Barry

A bit of progress with my widebodied Z
Allan, Teins were recommended to me at the time and wasnt really aware of anything else available at the time. I tend to just keep the EDFC set at the softest setting as even at this setting its quite hard ride, also having 19s on you dont get as much flex in the tyre wall. Overall happy with them, but cant compare them to anyothers. Barry

A bit of progress with my widebodied Z
Ive got 19s on mine, which are 10" wide (rear) on the 60mm spacer and put 285 tyres on. But had to replace the kyb shocks and eibach springs with Tein Coilovers to get the car to sit lower. Barry

do you think this is reasonable, or not ?
Did you try Livingstones Warman? For me, for an additional 130 pounds I got 20k agreed valuation, 6k miles pa. Although excess is 500 pounds. Barry

Show me your front calipers
Got Stoptechs on mine with Hawk pads. Barry

Recommended Bodyshop in the North West
You could try Astley Autocare, the guy there is Malc. He did all the work on my zed, the full bodykit and full respray. Theres a thread I started with the progress of all work. Its only a small bodyshop based over in Astley near Leigh. His number is 01942 873216 Barry

Insurance pi55 take!
Car is insured now, with every mod declared, listed with 500hp (although not there yet), 6k miles p/year, gauranteed valued at 20k and last year cost 780 pounds, which I dont think is too bad. Thats with Livingstones Warman. Could of got it cheaper with A-plan, but they would only insure it as market value, so didnt see the point in taking that risk. Barry
