I changed my pcv valves yesterday (70,000 klm), and on taking them off I found oil in them and oil in the blow by pipe? also the also you could blow through the valve both ways. Is this normal?? thanks Jim.:confused:

Yes mate, i did reset the ecu.

good evening to all. the question is, would replacing the pcv valves at 70,000 klm make any difference to performance if blocked or dirty. the thing is I cleaned throttle bodies out about 1 month ago (very black) and since that, drivers side exhaust started smoking after engines warmed up in a morning, and now passenger side has started the same all in the the space of a month (since cleaning t/bs) and some times it feels down on power???? can any one help?? IVE HAD A TRAWL IN THE ARCHIVES BUT CAR'NT SEEM TO FIND OUT WHAT I NEED. (maybe im just tired and carn't be bothered to turn the caps lock off). could any one tell me what oil is the best to put in the rear diff, and what oil is best to put in the auto transmission on a 92 TT (eg grades and names etc.) thank you all. jim:o

JUST THOUGHT ID LET EVERY ONE KNOW... BOUGHT MY ZED TT ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO FROM JAPAN WITH 38,000 MILES ON IT, FIRST JOB WAS OIL CHANGE, CASTROL 0w/40 RS. THE DAY AFTER NOTICED MY OIL PRESSURE WAS DROPING OFF AND AT IDLE VERY LOW, I PUT IT DOWN TO DODGY OIL SENDER AND THAT WAS THAT. READING A COUPLE OF LINKS ON TUESDAY I NOTICED THAT ALOT OF YOU USE CASTROL RS 10/60, SO I ORDERED SOME, PUT IT TODAY AND 200 MILES LATER......... MY OIL PRESSURE GAUGE IS ROCK STEADY AND WORKING EXACTLY HOW ITS SUPPOSE TO, THE CAR ALSO FEELS ALOT STRONGER WHEN PULLING. JUST THOUGHT I'D SHARE THAT ONE WITH YOU ALL, ANY COMMENTS MOST WELCOME....... JIM.:)

I HAD THE JAP STYLE CANS FITTED TO MY TT, REALLY NICE NOTE AND THEY WHERE A BARGIN AT 350 SQUID TOOK ABOUT 3 HOURS TO FIT AND LOOK SUPERB.. JIM

the small vaccum hose that controlls the boost gauge in engine bay (drivers side), it keeps spliting at the end. this is the 5th time ive had to cut the end off, now i need a new one........ JIM:mad:

i changed the plugs at weekend to uk ones, just drove 250 miles, and the car seems fantastic, the idle settled down and the power seems to be better than before? the exhaust note has perked up aswel on passenger side. i suppose ( or hoping) from now on and more miles the car will get better? i would deffinatley advise changing jap plugs to uk ones...... jim.

mine reads about 1/2 barwhenidling and about 3/4 bar when driving, this seems slightly low to me at idle, but as you say their crap so i don't trust it anyway! jim.

i may be wrong but jag wheels dont have the same stud pattern, ours are 4.5, jag wheels are 4 and three quarters stud pattern!

last week i bought a set of toora alloys in platinum silver, (mines grey), i went for 18x8.5 all round, 235 x 40 on front and 255 x 35 on rear, they fit like a glove, not hard on the road aswell. jim

I know this may be a little delayed, i was just reading through a few pages. i had the same problem with my gti-r, i had oil pressure drops when cornering and accelerating (surges), it turned out to be oil pump! I don't know weather this happens on zeds, just thought i would reply! jim.

my passenger side jap can is a real nice even deep note, my drivers side is not! the only way i can descibe it is, you can hear the nice note in there somewhere, but it seems to run off and start hunting (flat notes) then ok, then not, then ok, then not. any ideas????????? thanks jim.
