  1. I had the same problem when the "black box" speedo converter on my zed went t1ts up, pulling like a train then like hitting a brick wall when the rev limit kicked in. My solution was to buy a set of uk clocks, no need for black box, have the rev limiter/ speed limiter lifted on the chip
  2. you will need two injectors for the kit to work on a zed, as there are two throttle bodies, if you use a single injector after the AFM, it will be w@nk. The figure they quote for the jets is a "perfect" figure, ie, if you set the system up perfectly and the ambient temp was neither too hot or too cold for the NOS bottle, you use it before the heat from your engine has had a chance to effect it etc. But going with that, if your TT is standard you will be running 280 - 300 BHP, the stock internals are supposedly good for 400ish, so you should be fine with up to 100 jets
  3. Ginja Man, thats pure poetreee :) R34? nice. when do you expect to have it? Hopefully before the end of the summer, then we may see you at some of the meets, would be good to put a face to the name.

got to say , my idea of a bloody good rainy saturday afternoon/evening is the all the godfather movies one after the other:) Each to his own.
  5. In my humble opinion, thats a touch too much, but a) whatever floats yer boat and b) you can buy that stuff in Maplins and RS
  6. Not relevant, but i did laugh when I saw you use the word GUBBED, havent heard that since I left glasgow
  7. ron, have a look at longlife for your exhaust, they will give you four pipes and make it as quiet , or noisy as you like. Stainless steel, lifetime guarantee looking about £500 cats back
  8. Mooch, you can download the 270.bin file, burn it onto a chip and put it in your ecu if it is socketed.
  9. At the end of the day, if the car you are travelling in has an accident then the likelihood of you being injured, and the extent of those injuries increases in proportion to the speed you are travelling at. It is my personal belief that "speed" does not kill. For the gov. or anyone else to say that if you speed , you will kill is toss. If that were the case, after many years of driving supersports bikes and fast cars as they were designed to be driven I would be a mass murderer. The fact is I am not, I use the power of my vehicle in a responsible way, in a place which I judge reduces the risk of an accident and with an awareness of not only my vehicle and its capabilities, but of those around me and their limitations. The whole attitude for me is displayed in the latest bike safety advert on TV. The one with the guy riding along, and he crashes into an invisible car. The message? The guy in the car wont see you, so look out for him!! Incredulous, there is a guy who is driving a ton of metal, who we (the goverment) admit is not paying attention, so be a bit more careful Mr Biker. Tosspots. Everyone involved in an accident should be charged with dangerous driving, and have to prove their innocence, because while people sit in their air bagged, side impact protected, steel safety shelled car with protected no-claims, they percieve no risk to themselves. Thats why a guy who wouldnt say boo to you in a pub becomes a monster behind the wheel, the guy thinks he is invincible. Maybe the other option is to fit a six inch steel spike in the centre of every steering wheel, I think that would reduce road accidents
  10. nigel is right in one case, the smell and the large flame on full throttle changeups, also thor (when they run a dyno test) do an exhaust analysis and they were able to confirm what I had already surmised.
  11. Am running the 270.bin on my NA, and it is very good, but is still over cautious, ran the 555 version on the TT and it is very much overfuelled at the top end, again in the name of caution. If you look at the fuel maps you can see it, at thor the other day the ratio dropped into the low tens above 5000 rpm, but was fine up till then
  12. three words mate, use the car. Sorry officer was proceeding down the road at a sedate pace and this poor young lad stepped out in front of me, oh dear :(
  13. nice :) welcome to the loud NA club :)
  14. Rich, I use my car as a daily driver and it is fine in traffic. The rolled edges just look good. The bottom line is (and have said this lots of time) the NA makes power right through the rev range on a nice linear curve, maximum power moves a small amount up the rev range, but it is not like your whole power range is going to jump 2000 revs. YOU WILL NOT lose driveability by removing the cats. I wanted a new exhaust cos mine was holed, not looking for power or torque or anything else. My last thought is this, its a 13 yr old car, cats have a life span, so ask yourself what condition those cats are in, and whether they are doing the job you think they are doing? I would suggest that they are probably towards the end of their life span , or past it , in any case.
  15. I have an NA, and a longlife exhaust and I removed the cats. Car drives better and sounds sweet. Nuff said?? Also twin rolled pipes on each side, maintains the look of the car and sound awesome
  16. Dont have one, but it is a straight exchange for the old one. Have just done the bushes in mine (which involves taking the gearstick out and refitting it) about an hours work, buit fiddly and you will skin your knuckles :)

Had the same problem on my NA. The issue was that when the new exhaust was fitted they cut the heat sheild around the pipe. With an open end the filling between the heatshield and the exhaust fell out, causing the heatshield to rattle against the pipe at certain engine revs. Got some sealant from Halfords (one of them is good for silly temperature) pumped it inside the heatshiel, rattle gone. I ended up, at a later point, just taking the heatshield away all together.:)
  18. now if that was a big silver spaceship, I would say it was stu :)

  23. Talked to Kash's younger brother at MAxpower this year and he reckoned that Kash had removed the nitrous as when he ran the car with it , it frazzled his bottom end. Although this only came out when I asked to see how he had plumbed it in
