NZR - Royal Marines on TV tonight!
I think most people realise that positions of power can either attract w@nkers or make w@nkers of certain people you only need to look at the police, parking wardens, doorstaff etc, there is always going to be an individual who puts other members of the "organisation" in a bad light. The problem is when this becomes the focus point (as in todays media) it can attract more of the wrong people and put the right people off. My military career was cut short by just such a guy and whilst I would do what I did again, it is wrong that these people put other persons in that position.Hopefully those who read the story, realise that the guy is the exception rather than the norm and are not put off joining up.

deep fried Mars Bars!!!!!!
personally never had on, but deep fried pizza is the nuts. Apparently they have started doing a new thing which has 1000 calories a portion, bsically a sausage wrapped in kebab meat, then dipped in batter and deep fried. Sounds lush :)

Dogs and kids? Well baby actually!
HAd a rottie for years, was dating a girl at the time with a crawler/ toddler which the dog only saw infrequently. Was never a problem. But as said, its a big dog to get a hold of a kid, try them out, if there seems to be an issue, seperate the two. Dont really see the distinction with a lab tho, wouldnt want my kid to get snapped by any dog, and in my experience, a rottie is no more or less likely to attack thean any other dog, the only difference is the damage it will do if it does attack.

Valve cover gaskets!!??
If your taking the plenum off, you could have a look at the water by-pass (details in the FAQ section) sorts out lots of tossy little pipes and makes it easier to put the plenum back on. My suggestion to you: Label everything! :)

engine bay pipe work
they are the solenoids for the AIVs (the air pumps in the wings) and I believe the EGR. I removed them and blocked the vaccum pipes and did no harm

change piston from 87mm to 87.5mm
If you are only changing the pistons (not the turbos) then there is no need to change the injectors. If all else is standard the limiting factor is your turbos and injectors, which will both give out long before your head gasket (in theory :))

I'm so down
Not exactly the same as this situation, but myself and my sister fell out when I was sixteen and for various reasons we never made up, always thinking that there would be tomorrow. Tomorrow stopped coming five years ago, and I know from experience that you will find it hard to come to terms that you never told this man how you feel. I am sorry for your trouble bud, but take advantage of the chance you have to say what you want to say. Hugh

Who's lives near Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone?
Tunbrige wells and maidstone are both good places, maidstone is a great place for a night out, they reckon 10- 15000 people hit the streets there on a good night. Should be plenty of horsey work as they are both in the heart of kent, cant say about live-ins tho
