  1. Hi Bud, just got back from working away the weekend, will have a look in my garage today, ive definitley got it, just got to dig it out Cheers Graham
  2. standard speedo goes to 180, you can get some uk clocks or indiglow dials, or just the speedo face; Uk clocks probably the best way to go
  3. Absolutley stunning, probably wont go that far with mine, but credit to you Andy, top job :bow:
  4. Bugger :D im aiding and abetting in spamming threads now :slap:
  5. It sounds like the ptu, a common fault of overheating, then work again when cooled down. I say common fault, not everyone will have a problem, but when they do, its likely to be the ptu. Ill see if i can find my series 1, you can have it if i can dig it out. Cheers Graham
  6. Yes Rich, they are led segments though so dont have needles
  7. Maybe not Dave, but its members like you that have had a lot of experience and know how over the years of zed ownership that have picked up tips and tricks and useful bits of info, that make life easier for others in the club :bow:
  8. This is what mine is like now with just leds
  9. They will be fine, they do not shine through the indiglow as its too thick for the light to penetrate, but will light up the boost gauge and oil press guage as this is the only passage for the light to pass, but will look cool. Have a look in my rides, i used to have indiglows with the leds behind and see the effect. Cheers Graham
  10. Sorry bud the 501's are for behind the dash, they also light up the needles via the plastic diffuser around the dials. The ones you have pictured you dont need at all and if by any chance yours work, then take them out. All your leds went off today and ive included a couple for the bumper lights and a load of resistors, i will have to mail you the instructions and anything youre not sure of we can go over on the phone, i will pm you my number Cheers Graham
  11. I see, you mean you are after white dials and not indiglow, so that the bulb lights the dials http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5x-501-194-W5W-5-LED-BLUE-Refractor-Wedge-Bulbs-Lights_W0QQitemZ200337420347QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item2ea50a703b&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
  12. Hi Rich, get 4x 5 way blue leds available from ebay, to replace the blown bulbs, it will bring the dials alive and as Dave suggested would light up the needles. Also they will match the blue leds ive sent to you Cheers Graham
  13. Happy birthday scott, hope you are well
  14. Lol thought so, she will need her passport or ID to confirm her identity, as you will be nominating where and who too. The travel agent or PO will inform you of which offices in her area and you may have to give her a quick call to make sure she goes to the right place. Hope you get it sorted. Cheers Graham
  15. Hi Paul, my ex works for Thomas cook as a foreign exchange cashier, she was always doing money grams, best to go into a travel agent or maybe even post office and they will be able to do it the quickest way for you, deffo instant, within an hour i think HTH Im guessing your girls abroad and needs some money eh lol Cheers Graham
  16. Thanks guys, its just a quicky, i need to do it properly and put pics in order and add some more when its finished
  17. After a little discussion, i decided to do a simple and short write up on illuminating the rear bumper reflector. If yours is like mine and is a sealed unit, there are 2 ways (possibly more) to get a bulb or led in there. Bear in mind an led is directional, unlike a filament bulb, so IMO you wont get the best light from an led in the normal bulb position, so go for a standard white 501 filament bulb for that position. you will have to drill a hole in the plastic backing, be careful not to push too hard as you could hit the red reflector and possibly crack it (job ruined) so take your time with the hole cutting. You can use a 501 bulb holder, you will have to gradually make the hole bigger and using a dremmel create the lug holes needed to hold the bulb holder. Solder tails (wire) to each side of the bulb holder a 6-8inch length initially, so you can place a bullit or spade crimp to the ends. This makes it easier for future removal etc.. If you take your illumination feed from the number plate lights, you will need the female bullit or spade crimp (preferably insulated) to connect to the other end of the bumper light. To connect an led, i found it best to use a 5mm flat top led a(wide dispersion) b( it has a natural rim, which acts as a stop) Drill a 5mm hole in the centre of the rear of the reflector and the led fits nice and snug into the hole, the natural rim stops it going in further. It is a tight fit but you could use some glue to make sure it doesnt come out. Solder a 12v(470ohm) resister to the anode (longer leg) of the led, then solder a tail(6-8 inch wire) to the resistor and insulate using heat shrink. Solder a tail(6-8 inch wire) to the negative leg of the led and heat shrink. Using bullit or insulated spade crimps, place a male crimp on each of the two tails. Run your feed wires from the number plate lights, add crimps to the ends that reach the bumper light and connect. Turn on your side lights and hey presto, your rear bumper reflectors light up. Hope this helps, i will be putting or some more pics of the resistor soldering and wiring to the number plate lights. Cheers Graham
  18. Dont worry mate, when your bits arrive, i will stick a couple in with the return parcel
