Speedo clarification
Uk clocks and a rechip Ecu is the best way forward

Speedo clarification
Uk clocks have mph reading on the outside of the dial and kph inside. If yours is only reading mph, they could be jap clocks with a mph face. Which is pointless without other mods to get to read in mph. The convertor box does change the kph to mph, it tricks the ecu into thinking you are going slower than actual speed, but does affect the power steering at below 20mph, which is when you need it most. You need to have the ecu socketed so it can accept a new chip. If you place a post in the wanted section and explain why, someone may have one already done, or John Dixon on the forum or AndyP do rechips. Jeff at zedworld may have some in stock.#HTH cheers Graham

Speedo clarification
If you have a jap import you will need a convertor, get them from ebay, or one of our traders on the forum. There is a wiring diagram in the faq section, but you will get instructions with it anyway. You will have to tap into the yellow/green wire for the signal, the other 3 to the back of the screws on the speedo clock, very easy job. Can affect the power steering. The best way is to get a set of Uk clocks and get your ecu rechipped, this will also get rid of the rev limiter and speed restriction. HTH

need help
Then i would suggest changing the ptu, should solve your problem. Ideally get a series 2 ptu. The ptu series has nothing to do with the car seiries by the way, its just an upgrade that most people do for more reliability Cheers Graham

need help
Usually a series 1 ptu, its not a sensor by the way it acts like a distributor and controls the signal to the spark plugs. The series 1 ptu has heat sink fins, also has been a common fault by getting too hot, i take it your car starts when its cooled down? HTH Cheers Graham

 I think the innards of the autobox are probably a bit of a mystery to most lol There was a post the other day on an autobox rebuild, http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=128147&highlight=autobox Also there are a few companies out there that specialize in gearboxes. Failing that, best to speak to Jeff at zedworld, he will most likely be able to answer your question. Cheers Graham

White Dials - Glowing
Yes, luke at the z centre or theres a place in swindon i got some from, cant remember the name, or they are available on ebay. Having fitted these for several members, the best ones to get are from Luke. The cable exit from each dial is offset to miss the clock edge, where as the others tend to get trapped between the plastic casing.

Out of interest, who has the quickest, fastest Zed in the UK?
I think mac1 has one of the biggest bhp around at 700, but as said before, been asked many times and can open a can of worms, not worth the arguing to be honest. Just be happy it runs :D

Hi Everyone!
Hi and welcome, hope you enjoy the site and get some valuable info

Anyone fitted a zcentre 3 gauge dashmount?
I see what you mean, best speak to Luke first, when he gets back off his hols, he will probably exchange it for you, no help to you now though.

Anyone fitted a zcentre 3 gauge dashmount?
are you sure you made the hole big enough, the fibreglass unit is quite strong and uless it came like that i would doubt it would bend or warp unless it was near some serious heat. After all when its on the dash in bright sunlight on a very hot day, it doeasnt warp. might just have to re adjust for it to sit properly. By adding pressure to the pod gauge as it sticks there should be enough give in the foam on the dash to get it to sit right.

lightweight flywheel
Have just been in touch with this company and he will post for $64 and mark the value down and put as a gift to get rid of the import duty, sounds a great deal, Has anyone else bought from these guys http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-96-NISSAN-300ZX-N-A-LITEWEIGHT-RACING-FLYWHEEL-SFI_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZQ7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a100QQ_trksidZp3286Q2em63Q2el1177QQhashZitem562ea9ab1aQQitemZ370150058778QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Cheers Graham

You have to add pressure on all sides of the dash pod, it will sit flush at the bottom near the vents but tends to lift slightly nearer the back of the unit ie: front vents HTH

speedo overreading
Getting mine done soon, i have all the parts, just need a spare few days, if you look in the faq section under transmission, there is a post on auto to manual conversion, should give you the info you need. I think you can use the autobox loom, its the starter motor that is different, i think the alternator remains the same, but i will have to have another read myself lol
