  1. Your a gent :punk: i wasnt joking by the way, i do need 1x inlet rocker cover screw/bolt (crosshead) i just painted my rocker covers and have misplaced one lol.
  2. Have you got a spare rocker cover screw/bolt?
  3. Disconnect the battery for an hour or so, overnight if you get the chance, this should reset the ecu.
  4. I dont think its electrical. Behind the passenger side of the dash, you have the Ac unit, could have air trapped or needs regassing. You did say it only made the noise when driving? The reason i mentioned gurgling, although i should have been a bit clearer with the description, you can get water trapped in the aiv tanks Try and see if you can record the sound and post it up, especially if you think its electrical, apart from alarm system as suggested it could be a new one to file in the faq section
  5. mmm strange one that, you sure its not more like a gurgling sound? that sounds like it could be a bong......ping
  6. I found this works well to get the casting off the plenum http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PAINT-RUST-REMOVAL-POLY-WHEEL-power-tool-bit-/400213757852?pt=UK_Body_Shop_Supplies_Paint&hash=item5d2e994f9c Then this to get a smooth finish, available in B&Q much cheaper than anywhere else i could find on the net Then one of these, before moving on the the polishing stages http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/100MM-SCOTCHBRITE-TYPE-BUFFING-DRUM-METAL-POLISHING-/350261217589?pt=UK_BOI_Metalworking_Milling_Welding_Metalworking_Supplies_ET&hash=item518d320935 NB i wouldnt use the first whell above for the throttle bodies  The throttle linkage and springs can be started from the sisal mop with brown bar, no need for sanding, apart from the edge that shows when the throttle cover is on.
  7. Yep defo 3 gears plus overdrive, it does feel like another gear when going say 50 mph
  8. Lift the top of the dash cover off and its a little black box to the left behind the dash binnacle but attached to a bracket on the main dash. It also does the lights left on bong, but no great loss lol
  9. Ah i see, you should have said i got hundreds lol.
  10. All the zed models have the back lit part on the dash, most dont know it as the bulbs are normally dead or just crap. I never bothered putting leds to back light the front of the dash, as they can tend to glare off the dial facia and spoil the effect. I think you should try blue leds to compliment the EL dials, that would look really nice. Well done though for broadening the visual horizons
  11. I will tell him there will be some interest and let you know.
  12. Or just ask Mike at MJP he knows the parts inside out. Although a part number helps, he will know what you want when you tell him lol
  13. Welcome aboard me harty :lol: Have you got any pics of your zed yet?
  14. Their the easy bits lol
  15. Awesome build, i take it he likes the old cars for his projects lol
  16. So a quick question, even though the paint has been baked, how long is best to leave it before mopping? My guy is going to just 2k it without a clear. Cheers Graham
  17. Lovely mate, really nice and i like the little touch of doing the mirror base the same colour as the back plate, looks neater than trying to mask around the bugger lol
  18. Good on you for giving it a go, you will appreciate the work that goes into it when its finished lol
  19. I thought it would cost me about that to do it myself lol and thats without a booth, so im really pleased. After doing a few engine bits in my garage, there is no way i would even contemplate spraying the car in there, doesnt matter how clean you try to keep the air in there you still end up with some dust spots.
  20. One pic? oooh you tease:lol::lol: would like a closer look at the wing mirror indicators
  21. Im sure he would be up for doing more cars, its a good earner for him as he has no overheads and gives his boss a few quid for using the spray booth.
  22. I look forward to seeing it finished too mate :whistling: It is a great price, you cant get a quick blowover in most places for less than a grand. I wouldnt want a quick blow over either, i want a pucker job doing.
  23. Im really chuffed, a mate of a mate works in a bodyshop and does private cars on a weekend for himself, he is a perfectionist and does some top work. If i buy the paint, which he will get trade anyway, he will spray the car, in 2k in a booth and baked for £400 :clap: cheap? hell yeah. I couldnt buy all the stuff to do it for that price and certainly wouldnt have a booth to do it in, so the finish would have been no where near what i would want. Im going to have a meet in the next week or so to go over the car with a fine toothcomb, but cant wait. Im thinking of getting it done the first week in August, which gives me time to get the new engine and box in, but i probably wont get the wheels refurbed in time for JAE, but they clean up well, so not too bothered.
  24. Lol, i know where you are coming from, i can spend ages cleaning the car and after 10mins of the other half and kids in the car, it looks like the floor at Macdonalds :cursing:. Even worse if its been raining, the 4 year old tends to walk along the back seat before he sits down :2guns:
  25. Here you go mate http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=82551
