  1. Yep exaclty Al, i did just that and had a little chat after the lecture. I felt like saying to him as Voddy drove past, LOOK theres another one lol Ive seen so many modded or partly modded cars with the number plate in the windscreen and thought as long as its facing forward, should be OK, but now i know, although it may have just been his take on it, but not worth arguing as you wont win lol
  2. Your are more than welcome Nathan, at least youve got your foot in the door and once you get a zed, will feel even more involved
  3. Well done Chris, much deserved, i will get an official list up later, once ive got myself sorted
  4. A great weekend, weather and company, we learned lessons again this year to help improve further for next year, well done Ian for sorting everything out even with a last minute hitch thrown your way, you managed to pull it off :punk:
  5. Yes number plate, but he was a nice guy, said he had already given 6 tickets out for the same thing, but i was just honest and nice to him, so he let me go  I knew he was going to pull me when i saw him on the roundabout as i went in to Tesco for fuel, on the way out Liam ( 12 year old ) kept looking to see if he was clocking us, too bloody obvious, so the inevitable lol
  6. White my friend, its white primer, you will see what i mean tomorrow lol
  7. It leaves one less competition for the club show and shine lol
  8. Good point Paul, forgot to mention i did an etch primer coat first, but mainly to cover the filler patches initially, then i got carried away and did the whole thing. When i had my 99 spec painted a few years ago, the guy used a plasticiser and had a great finish, but as per, started flaking along the suage line, then i bumped a curb and hello split
  9. Its not the piss take for the way it looks lol, more like the time its taken, been in primer for the last two JAE's
  10. I wouldnt have thought there was much in the box, its basically a resistor board to slow the signal down, if anyone has an old one or duff one i could take one apart.
  11. Well i had big expectations of myself to get the car painted in time for JAE, but after refettling the body work and fitting stuff, as per, i ran out of time. I redid the whole back end as there will little cracks and lines in the bumper, so thats primed, re did the front bumper, what a mess that was in. 99 spec, bumper had caught a curb and split at the bottom, so had to repair that then fit the new lip, but primered at least. Did the roof bars black, but im going to re do them when i get back as im not happy. I did take out the headlights and painted the cross member and behind the lights, so i managed to get some colour on it, but ive had enough after 2 weeks of prepping, priming sanding, but i did manage to get my wheel spacers on, although catches on the splash guard now when i turn left  But sod it im just going to enjoy the weekend, welcome the piss taking and let the fun begin. If i wasnt helping with the set up tomorrow, may have got it all primed  but :asshole:
  12. Nice one bud, bout time you had some luck with her :thumbup1:
  13. Under 10mph inactive, is usual with some convertors, but its not important enough to worry about. Glad you got it sorted
  14. Will get Lee to sort the link, here is the pdf for same speedo delimiter box wiring.pdf I have a diagram to the plugs if required, but using the screws is easier
  15. Ok look to the rear of the speedo and you will see 4 screws, 1+ve, 1-ve, 1signal, there is a diagram in the tech section http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?117157-speedo-delimiter-box-wiring
  16. Happy Birthday Bud, be good to see you again at JAE, we will have a birthday drink with you
  17. Happy Birthday bud, another day older, but none the wiser:biggrin: All the best
  18. 99spec bumper is polyurethane and is quite flexible. Normal the painter would put in a plasticser or adhesion promoter, but the plasticiser is only any good to give time to fit the bumper, it wont necessarily stop future paint cracking. Any plastic/poly painted bumper will crack if hit or knocked on a kerb for example. Jason Farrow had something in his paint or laquer to help pervent this, but cant remember what its called. I think its like a clear sheet of something lol. Primer is nothing special although using a sealer will help first, not sure on the stone chip, never used it myself. Boldy: Bodyshop specialist, worth giving him a PM

  21. Been on a couple of cruises, many years ago, funnily enough on the Fred Olsen Black Prince, which is a Norwegian ship. However it was a small ship compared to todays liners, but didnt do Norway. However many years ago i went to Greenland for 6 weeks to work and saw the Northern lights almost on a nightly basis, truly stunning and a must see in person before you die
